A movie called "3 Idiots" I saw years ago was the catalyst in getting me thinking about it and just how important, especially in these modern times, it is for someone to start a school which teaches everything they're not teaching in schools today. Liberals/socialists have been doing it for decades already. Remember the whole "if you can't bring enough gum for the whole class, then you can't have any" line? That's socialism. I'd say it has ramped up at least since the 80's and 90's, but went largely unnoticed. I can think of tons of examples in my own childhood where teachers were shoving their liberal politics down my throat. And let's keep in mind, many students look up to teachers as role models, or at least as authoritarian figures. That means they are virtually helpless when it comes to having politics rammed down their throats. Teaching 11 years old about politics is like teaching a full sex ed class to a 1st grade. But teaching your own politics to them, is like teaching the class about your own kinks. It's just plain inappropriate.

I think teachers should be able to share their personal opinions but I feel like it shouldn’t be in a way that says my opinion is right and yours is wrong. Teachers should be able to say I believe XYZ because of whatever reason but try and teach with an ubiased opionion and maybe later on they’ll have a teacher that believes ZYX and they student can see it from both point of view and see way Route they want to believe

I don't know about you, but when I was in school I had social studies and history. They mostly don't have that anymore. My son being in 10th has never had a class or assignment that has ever covered any of the world wars or or the American Revolutionary war, the Holocaust. I could go on and on. However!! He is practically an expert when it comes to the Arab spring. I mean they covered that thing to death, among other things! And not saying they shouldn't, but I can't help but smh at the fact they learn that but not other areas. Education has to change and I'm holding out hope that it will.
Yet we do this all the time. We teach children that democracy is good and dictatorships are evil, and whilst I happen to share this view as well, I am aware that we still indoctrinate our children into believing in democracy as North Korea does into believing their ruling style is the best. I homeschooled my youngest K4-12th grade. He loved it! We used the ABEKA program...it’s a Christian curriculum. At age four he was reading (they teach the actual phonics) and writing in cursive! We did the DVD program it was just like bing in the classroom! Anyway check out ABEKA! I promise you and your future children will love it!

Yeah, I used to go to Richland Rebel Highschool in Texas, and that place was so obviously liberal. The place played CNN in the library all the time and (this was before the election) refered to Clinton as the ‘hero’ America needs and the person who will save our country. Also last year I saw on the local news something about my old middle school, North Richland Middle. A 6th grade teacher got caught giving students work, even tests, on how different things make you ‘feel’. Things such as ‘You discover that your sibling is bisexual. How does this make you feel?’.

This is only 1 out of thousands of stories. What's disturbing and hypocritical is that liberal teachers preach about "acceptance.... tolerance.... no-hate" yet, they're guilty of inflicting the same brutal tactics that they claim to stand for. I've read several cases where the bullying, mocking and insulting was instigated by the teachers. There's a girl who had mental illness and a bunch of the "new" LGBT supporters/members, cyber-bullied her into suicide. And it's equally disturbing that the media cares more about a caravan driving somewhere in Honduras.

But pushing political views goes a bit farther than freedom of speech, it's indoctrination. You're not teaching the kid anything other than what to think, and that's not right. The kids should be able to grow up with their own sense of thought.

It's one thing to share your opinion with your students, but forcing them to agree that it's fact for their grades is unacceptable. Teachers should be encouraging their students to think for themselves and have their own opinion.

Here in europe we don't even get taught how the european union works... The netherlands' middle schools have a class called 'maatschapijleer', roughly translated to civics or the studie of civilization. The class aims to explain modern society and how things such as the parliament work, but it doesn't even touch on the EU! I think if people actually knew that the european commision is a fundementally undemocratic institution, there would be much more anti-european sentiment among youth, because i explained this to many of my fellow students in middle school and they mostly agreed, reform it soon or get the hell out... Liberals/socialists have been doing it for decades already. Remember the whole "if you can't bring enough gum for the whole class, then you can't have any" line? That's socialism. I'd say it has ramped up at least since the 80's and 90's, but went largely unnoticed. I can think of tons of examples in my own childhood where teachers were shoving their liberal politics down my throat. And let's keep in mind, many students look up to teachers as role models, or at least as authoritarian figures. That means they are virtually helpless when it comes to having politics rammed down their throats. Teaching 11 years old about politics is like teaching a full sex ed class to a 1st grade. But teaching your own politics to them, is like teaching the class about your own kinks. It's just plain inappropriate.

Yeah, I used to go to Richland Rebel Highschool in Texas, and that place was so obviously liberal. The place played CNN in the library all the time and (this was before the election) refered to Clinton as the ‘hero’ America needs and the person who will save our country. Also last year I saw on the local news something about my old middle school, North Richland Middle. A 6th grade teacher got caught giving students work, even tests, on how different things make you ‘feel’. Things such as ‘You discover that your sibling is bisexual. How does this make you feel?’.

I went through my 4 years of public high school, not once during any world history was the Ottoman Empire mentioned, but such focus on the Roman Empire, dismissing the Hellenic origins.

Parents are the first line of defense for their children. Good action . If you don't stand-up for this kind of indoctrination you send the wrong signal to your own children. They will think the teacher is correct . Young mind don't know what is true or wrong. First amendments don't apply in classroom bcs you are under contract to teach what you are ask to teach. This is very common in blue state schools. Since middle school I have had my teachers political opinions pushed onto me several times. I'm happy I made my own opinions on politics instead of listening to them.

Same, live in Massachusetts, my history teacher brings up Trump everyday and about how "awful" he is. It gets really annoying and no one laughs at his jokes.
