T de Lioncourt this is true: if I had to rank, it’d be 1) greatest showman 2) moulin rouge 3) la la land. But I also understand moulin rouge is divisive for many people. I recently talked to someone who was like ‘I had to stop it 20 minutes in’. Yeah, you’re supposed to SKIP the first 20 minutes. 😂

La La Land is the one movie that I can not watch scenes from on UA-cam because almost all of them absolutely tear me apart. Never has a film affected me emotionally like that one. Emma + Ryan + Chazelle = brilliance.

@@marwanazeem1483 The ending was super positive. I loved it. This is how I see all my past relationships. It’s okay to move on. We had our time together & that was part of our life journey & nothing can take that away. I loved that he gave her that smile at the end as if to say “yes, I still cherish every moment we had, but no hard feelings & I wish you the best.”
La La Land is a modern day movie masterpiece. Utterly magical film which restored my faith in movies. Will go down as an all time classic in my opinion. Emma Stone is a fine actress.
Ali Plumb is one of the finest interviewers working today. He & MTV'S Josh Horowitz are so good bc they've done their research & are informative, but are fun as well & clearly put the star at ease. Plus, their both just such fanboys.
The movie itself doesn’t really deserve more appreciation than it already has. Will Gluck is pretty average if not downright corny and untalented as a filmmaker. His movies all have a “oh I’m so quirky and fun” vibe that’s very annoying. Emma Stone saved Easy A, the dialogue itself was horrendous but she delivered it so well. She carried the whole thing, so yeah, Easy A is not underrated.
Santiago Necochea It made like 10x its budget. It got plenty of love. My only problem was that Ojai doesn’t exactly seem like a hotbed of religious zealotry and homophobia. It’s a freaking resort town for rich hippies. Gimme a break.
I feel like she has the career that Lindsay Lohan wanted but failed to have. Emma started with teen movies and now is an academy award winner. Lindsay wanted that too but...
Also Emma, in my opinion, is more talented... I don’t know, Robert Downey Jr. also had addictions but he turned his life around, Lindsay just doesn’t seem to have caught a break.
I think Lindsay got caught up in her celebrity whereas Emma has always wanted to be a successful actress, not necessarily a celebrity. And you have to think she's worked hard to achieve her success. It doesn't just fall into your lap.
This interviewer never fails he is brilliant, he makes anyone he's speaking to feel so relaxed and asks really interesting questions rather than the boring everyday ones you hear all the time!
We are NEVER done with La La Land , it’s one of the greatest movies of all time 😍 watched it in the cinema with my GF and it gave us an unforgettable day
Easy A has to be my favorite movie, I've seen the it at least 15 times. That and Charlie Bartlet are a tie for me 💕 love Emma her voice and her personality!
I’ve just got to say this interviewer is one of the best I’ve seen online. So many are pushy or awkward but this guy is just so cool and considerate with his questions.
I love Emma Stone. She´s so great in everything she does (Easy A, SuperBad, Crazy Stupid Love, the Help, Zombieland, Amazing Spiderman, Battle of the Sexes, Birdman, La La Land, the Favourite...)
Emma mentions that she had "full sob fests" for 3 out of the 9 times she's seen "La La Land," and it always made me wonder if she ever thought that the movie has become her reality regarding her relationship and love for Andrew Garfield. Just think about it. When they both started dating since working together in The Amazing Spider-Man, both Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were average actor/actress that were fairly known in the industry, but weren't worldwide famous just yet. They eventually split up, just like Mia and Sebastian, and continue to pursue in their careers. Emma wins an Oscar for Best Actress for "La La Land," and Andrew gets nominated for his role playing Desmond Doss in "Hacksaw Ridge" (while having another career performance in the underappreciated film "Silence") which elevated both of them into top elites in the Hollywood industry as well as having the status of worldwide fame. They both achieved their dreams, just like how Mia and Sebastian did in "La La Land," yet Emma and Andrew never got back together with their relationship. Perhaps realizing how similar their lives have become to the ending of "La La Land" may have attributed to her sob fest for hours. Had they stayed together and never split from the first place, would they be exactly where they are today with the same achievements in the movies they played in? Most likely not. There would've been a lot of compromises to be made. Just like in "La La Land" they couldn't have it all. It was one or the other. Just a thought.
The UA-cam version of these interviews are only a 3rd of the actual “Movies That Made Me” episodes. You have to go on BBC iPlayer to see the full versions. Although, on the full version they talk about The Help for all of 10 seconds. But there’s a lot more of the interview where they talk about Superbad, Zombieland, Battle of The Sexes, The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2, etc.
