Oh wow! I dated a Canadian a few months ago, (we go to the same university), 3 weeks and they tell me "I need space" but never texted or called again. The way we talked and stuff seemed like it was going to lead somewhere but they literally decided within 24 hours to end things out of the blue and I tried twice asking them at school what happened, they just gave me the silent treatment and I was so hurt and confused. Well it makes sense now why it happened

@Katalin Balázs It’s a little bit of both. You’ll get people that really want to be in a relationship but aren’t ready for commitment so they flake. Then there are those that feel like a relationship is an open ended fling and they jump into those relationships. The thing about the latter is is that they get mad when their partner cheats but gets defensive when they themselves cheat.

The whole "Canadians are all friendly" stereotype is the biggest pile of moose shit ever. Toronto people in general are fucking snobs, opinionated, politically correct and materialistic. Lived just outside of Toronto all my life, not a friendly or safe city for more than 5 decades.
Canadian guy here. Can confirm, unfortunately. There are plenty of exceptions and women outside the cities can be a bit more easygoing and friendly, but this video captures the overall trend for sure. It's one of the reasons I moved to Quebec after living abroad in Europe.
I dunno, I think the biggest problem is that a lot of Canadian women have a "harassment unless I'm interested" mindset then either don't bother to send clear signals or actively play coy and hard to get. It's a bad combination.

Don't get me wrong, I have met Anglo girls who were forward and honest but they're few and far in-between, and every girl I've been with these past couple years has either been French or a foreigner. Heck yeah! I am from Quebec but I go to Alberta and BC really often and the people over there are so much friendlier toward strangers (whereas in Qc strangers ignore you and will look at you with disdain if you try to talk to them). I think that western canadians are also less whiny and more open-minded (in most of the case, but I also met some strictly socially conservative people that hated my guts).
Depends, I worked out west and was always put down because I'm from Ontario (northern) yet everyone I know lives on a farm, hunts, fish, goes mudding, ect.. every region in each province changes somewhat, many of us here won't have any association with Toronto or the GTA.

The most down to earth women I have encountered in Canada are Saskatchewan girls, followed by Alberta girls. I dated a French girl from Quebec who was also awesome. I did my BA and MA in Canada, and I have to say that this is quite true. Anglo Canadians are quite prudish and reserved. It is rare to see PDAs. I remember going to Montreal once for Thanksgiving, and being soo shocked to see how more liberated and easy going people were behaving in nightclubs. It was such a welcome relief from the puritanical hub of Ontario.

I'm British and have been married to a woman from Ontario (outside Toronto) for 13 years. I didn't have the dating experience here because she met me in London, but I can confirm that passive aggressiveness and being polite when really feeling upset/angry is a HUGE thing. I thought it was just her and her family, but I guess it runs deeper in the psychology there. They also do say sorry a lot for small things, but again, it's a politeness thing and not always genuine. They also like the casual, baggy clothes and hockey thing in a big way, but can really dress up when they want to.

It's kind of shocking that that guy was so arrogant to think I was flirting with him, since he was the shortest guy in the entire grade, and he was also in the out-crowd. So I guess it's not just the in-crowd jocks who think that nerd girls are salivating over them. The only guy in high school who asked me out on a date was an out-crowd guy who was so ugly I couldn't make eye-contact with him (and this was BEFORE he asked me out). So, after these experiences, of course I am going to think that men just don't find me attractive, and that if I ever want a boyfriend, I would have to settle for a guy in the bottom 2% of conventional looks whom I feel 0 attraction to. I've never been to a nightclub and I didn't go to the prom. Why would I? Also, I have heard that Muslim and Asian guys consider white women sluts (my Filipino coworker made a comment about saying he wanted to date a white woman because they are looser). So maybe these white women are just not willing to go home with the first guy who approaches them in a bar, and this conflicts with your preconceived notion that all white women will have sex with any and every guy they meet, so your mind can't handle the cognitive dissonance. As a side note, I think it's funny that when I was tutoring a male classmate of mine in high school because my teacher asked me to, and a female in-crowd girl walked in the door and saw this, and she was so shocked her mouth was hanging open for a few seconds, making only subtle movements, but was unable to get any sound to come out because it was like her brain exploded. Then, when I was in my late 20s, my Chinese landlord approached me for sex, saying he thought I was "open-minded". I have also had East Indian men touch me and try to give me their phone numbers, because they think we are friendlier and easier-to-get than Muslim women. (And no, I didn't get plastic surgery after high school. And like I said before, I am actually fatter than I was in high school and university. yet got way more flirting after university, when I decided to give up on trying to get a boyfriend.). So which one is it? If we make eye contact and smile, I'm pretty sure the non-whites will think that it's because "white women are hornier than us Muslims/Asians/East Indians". In high school I would jog around the block in the evening and lift barbells and do stomach crunches to maintain a low weight, and I would wear mascara but that didn't seem to make any difference in the number of males who would approach me. There's no correlation between body weight and guys asking me out. At least in my experience.
I hear women complain a lot about how no decent guy will approach them and maybe it's because decent guys usually wait for signals while desperate sleazebags don't respect women to begin with. I have a friend who works as a bouncer and he says that south asian/middle eastern men are consistently the biggest troublemakers with groping women and they will do so regardless of any perceived signals so really there's nothing to lose by being pleasant to a decent guy you like.

Canadians are some of the nicest folks on the planet. But having dated a few Canadian girls, French Canadian women in general are not only prettier than the average non-French woman but have far more femininity, are friendlier, appear to like men a lot more (provided you approach them properly) and in general a lot more fun.

Studied and lived in Canada for 13 years. This is true of the urban Lower Mainland, Vancouver girls. Once I started visiting the Okanagan Valley of BC, BOOM! The ladies there are more humble-country down-to-earth. Having said that, my last relationship was with an Asian Canadian girl Vancouverite, and she was not like this. One in a million though..

This is pretty accurate for most girls here in Canada that I know of, however I am not Anglo Canadian (i.e. English origin) but Aboriginal Canadian. I see a great difference here between Aboriginal and Anglo Canadian women lol most of us are nicer because we're more in tune with a nature environment.
