  • We bought this STGAubron gaming PC from Amazon for just under $500. It comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an RX 5700 graphics card. Seems like a powerful combination, but is it legit?

    I'd say it's not worth getting any of the STGAubron PCs or other similar PCs. The biggest issue with these PCs is the motherboard tends to fail which will render the entire computer usable and it's believed the STGAubron uses a KingFast SSD similar to a lot of PCs sold by STG Global/STGAubron, SJ Computers, TecDale, and TechMagnet on Amazon which are known to fail. The "600M" Wi-Fi adapter is likely to be one of those no-name Wi-Fi adapters using the Realtek chipset which are known to not perform well and most sellers opt to use 802.11n which will lead to slow download speeds and may affect network performance in multiplayer games. Lastly, the gaming keyboard, mice, and even headsets aren't very good quality as they're the no-name brands rather than name brands, some keyboards don't even use the correct shaped Enter key (it should be wider instead of taller). The "renewed" gaming PCs have similar reasons to the above except these PCs may also come with weak/outdated GPUs like the GT 1030 which doesn't meet modern games' system requirements. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 lists the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB and Hogwarts Legacy lists the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4 GB for their minimum system requirements. At GT 1030 running modern games like these will most certainly lag.
    I feel the performance of the Intel Core i5-4570 and DDR3 memory is going to be noticeable with modern titles especially those designed for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The Haswell PCs are OK for older eighth generation titles (PS4/Xbox One) or games with more lenient system requirements like Minecraft and The Sims 4 but for modern ninth generation titles (PS5/Xbox Series), it's probably better to have a PC with DDR4 such as Intel Core 6th Gen or AMD Ryzen to get better performance.
    There's one thing to be aware about these PCs when installing Windows 11, some games like VALORANT, League of Legends, and Madden NFL 24 will refuse to run on these PCs due to lack of TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot which these PCs will not have. The reason why they ran on this PC as seen in 8:38 and 9:17 was because it was running Windows 10.

      @@Vapixed I would say so. The STGAubron PCs may be decent given it has a 4th Gen Intel Core processor and a video card like the Radeon RX 580 as opposed to the Alarco having a GTX 650/750 or some of the PCs having a GT 1030 although with caveats like the Wi-Fi not being good quality. However, the quality issues and old hardware make it not worth getting. Besides the poor quality peripherals and the questionable quality of the components, the biggest issue is the motherboard is known to fail which is a common problem with these pre-built PCs from sellers like Alarco and STGAubron. I've also read the SSD on the STGAubron also is said to use a KingFast SSD (the same SSD that many renewed/refurbished PCs are sold with) that tends to fail. If the STGAubron had a better motherboard and had better quality components and peripherals, it would be a decent PC aside from the lack of Windows 11 support and the performance issues with modern 2020s games seen in the video.
      While $500 may be cheap for a gaming computer, there are better products around $500 such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, the Steam Deck OLED 512 GB for $549, or even the ROG Ally.

    Im buying a similar stgaubron pc but with a i7 4770 and rx 580 (idk if 2048sp) but i feel like it was a decent deal for 399. I saw someone benchmark it on fortnite getting around 120 - 150fps. Do you think it can run subnautica below zero high settings?

    • @TechGuided
      @TechGuided  21 день тому

      I've never run Subnautica, but looking at its recommended specs, I think the STGAubron setup I got could probably run the game at higher settings.

      It really depends on what games you want to play and at what resolution you want to play them, but your best options right now for about ~$200 are the Ryzen 5 7600, the Ryzen 5 7600X, the Intel Core i5-14400F, or the Intel Core i5-13400F.
      There's also the Ryzen 5 7500F, but it seems like it's not in stock anywhere at the moment.

    So what is the best budget friendly around this price pc you suggest?

    • @TechGuided
      @TechGuided  2 місяці тому +3

      The best option in this price range is to build it yourself. Will be difficult to find a prebuilt option for ~$500 that will be able to match the in-game performance of a build for the same price. We're finishing a video of a $500 build right now that should be out in the next few days, but it you can see the part list for it here:

    • @TechGuided
      @TechGuided  29 днів тому

      Are you willing to build it yourself? Or are you looking for a prebuilt?
      For a build, you could do a CPU/GPU combination of:
      CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X or 7600 or 7500F
      GPU: RX 7900 GRE or RX 7800 XT or RTX 4070
      For a prebuilt, maybe something like this:
      amzn.to/3xhx68e

      Really depends on what kinds of games you're running. It's not the greatest PC in the world, but if you're mainly playing games like League of Legends or Valorant, it will get the job done. If you bought it on Amazon, though, they have a pretty good return policy.

    If a pc comes with windows 10 that’s all that really needs to be said, it’s to old to windows 11. While I agree this is not that great of a PC the buyer needs to do their homework. When friends ask me about a pc purchase I always tell then if it’s windows 10 walk away as it’s going to be older hardware.
