I happened to be browsing twitch while this episode was airing live, having never heard of critical role but was curious so I clicked on it. I was lucky enough to stumble in JUST as this scene was unfolding. Watched up to the start of the break and thought "I'd better go find the first episode". Now I'm hooked! Couldn't have had a better introduction to this hilarious cast
The best thing about this that as their characters they REALLY wanted to know that book. As, probably, socially awkward people, they really empathized with the barmaid.
Considering how almost all of the books in Campaign 2 are smutty to some extent, I would be surprised if Feathered Leather was an epic tale of all of Vax'ildan's erotic escapades. Now that is some peak Anne Rice shit right there.
This is just DnD at it's finest: a group of powerful adventurers winding down for the night and for some reason fixating on a particular item, but no matter how hard they try, they can't get that item. Vox Machina had doors. The Mighty Nein has smutty novels. Edit: After finally finishing the campaign, I can say that the Nein's enemy isn't smut, it's chairs.

to be honest, if i'd been yasha i would have either drawn my big ass 2hander sword on the barmaid and asked again or at least trashed one of the chairs or tables on the way to her seat. (yes i know it would have had consequences haha but it's d&d)
