+Mr1987Joe its basically a love song to games like BG and IWD. The pausible combat spells and stuff yet its stat system is new and interesting. Also no standard orcs and goblins and an interesting renaissance/colonist-ish setting rather that the standard high medieval.
I like it when you put clickable track skips in the info section as I like to read books while listening to soundtrack music like this (without lyrics) and sometimes the song doesn't suit what I'm reading, so I can easily skip to a more suitable tune. Thank you for the upload.
@@rabryan I did it as a kid, when I was reading the Choose Your Own Adventure style books by Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone, and Joe Dever. I didn't do it with normal books though, until I got older and struggled with reading. I kind of lost my motivation and concentration and focus for reading. So I started using music without words, game music or ambient music. I find I can enjoy reading a book very slowly and taking my time to picture and process what I'm reading, while still getting enjoyment from the music. It can be quite enjoyable and quite a different experience from reading in silence.
My first experience of this game was that when I got to the friendly arm inn, the assassin wizard feared the whole party. Then proceeded to butcher Imoen before our very eyes.
What I don't get about the "Attacked by Bounty Hunter" section of the track is that I was attacked by Xvarts and this played. I don't recall those things being bounty hunters, and if they were, let alone cut out to be so.
although i got baldurs gate when i was a kid, i never really played it much. though i did listen to the OST disc included, and it is very fucking epic. so much that i randomly remembered it and i'm listening to it now. it would make a great soundtrack to final fantasy tactics and vagrant story.
''rather, why dont we just skip the small talk, and get right to the killing?'' the best in the game though: ''fear my wrath for it is great indeed''... chills down my spine
Just try it out, after few hours i can guarantee you will love it, however i would suggest you to play the original one, the enchanced is a bit lame (imho) :)
Abelhawk Everyone says they dislike the Enhanced Edition but it's no different at all except for that you need to mod the original to get the handy features that are in the EE.
Abelhawk There's the original version. Best to buy the trilogy set of Baldur's Gate, Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal. Or the quad set with Tales of the Sword Coast in it too :D (older games are better imo because they haven't chucked everything from the latter games into the first one, making it more fun to explore your inventory as the game goes on).
play it... i play pretty much all good games for a lot of years and BG1, 2 and Planescape Torment are one of the best RPGs until now, even without nostalgia factor
this music brings back memories.... very good memories I like to listen to some tracks of this amazing album from time to time. Let us hope that the new games like Tides of Numenera and Project: Origin be as good as Baldur's Gate
AyanneCZ Considering who your mutual dad was that actually makes a lot of sense. Blood will tell and all that! OOPS that probably was a bit of a spoiler in the event there is somebody out there who dosn`t know the game!
DA:I, BEST RPG EVER!!! ... Rly? Listening to this theme I can with certainty say that this game was way batter than any of the modern RPGs, only by the music, often these days the best part of a game is the music, and even comparing the music from modern games, they fall short of the greatness of BG 1 and 2. Here's to hoping that Pillars of Eternity is going to be a good contender to best RPG, I don't think it will be better than BG, but at least I can hope it's in the same league!
the shame of modern rpgs is that you don't have the DD class system, two brawlers, a cleric, a thief mage and wizard, the lot leaded by a paladin. Only for that icewind dale was worth it. The shame of BG is the main storyline (not enough quests) and there were never enough magical items to my taste, nor level ups. Still a major RPG of all times though.
patrick martin How is the magic items and combat of Icewind Dale compared to Baldur's Gate? I see what you mean by the magic items, because I'm playing BG1 right now and I'm in chapter 5. At first I was excited with getting a +1 Long Sword, but now I just sell those pieces of crap immediately. The only interesting item that comes to mind was the Wolf Cloak that let's you polymorph at will into a wolf. I find that the charm of Baldur's Gate is that the companions are hand-crafted by the developers, so they're more interesting than player generated companions. Also, the dialogue is great because it's not too serious and it was written like the developers were high.
+Will Lu Jesus, are you really playng the game first time in your life? If so I really envy you. I played it so many years ago, and it defined me actually.
I uninstalled BG1 4 in 1 set ( Just the BG1) i was trying to use cheats and thought uninstall reinstall would be ok but now it wont read the cd when i pout it in anymore idk why :P Been playing TOB for a while now trying to figure it
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is straight up "Baldur's Gate: Rehashed Edition". Fuck Beamdog LOL. They added fuck all to the game, apart from incorporating some of the ALREADY AVAILABLE mods into an easy to download package. The only thing they had to work on, making the multiplayer more accessable and stable - they completely fucked up. You had ONE JOB, BEAMDOG....... ONE FUCKING JOB.... !!!!!
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
+Zeus Blue Nah, I modded that shit out.
this game was a gift of God, so good
Which God ? ^^
"What would you have me do?"
That sentence will never disappear from my memories xD
Alright, alright!
You have been waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself
(runs away)
In the early levels those "enemies" would fuck me right up.
The game was already fantastic, but the music made it otherworldly
Pillars of Eternity really captured the essence of these old infinity engine games, I highly recommend it if you want to feed your BG fix.
Just tell me where I can get it!
Beanmachine91 Steam
SonOfGasai cool! thnx

That game was dissapointment for me
My favorite at 28:40 ...the load game screen track ! Epic !

I'll try that!

I named my daughter Imoen 👍🏼❤️
+Jergus Baca Awesome!!!
+Jergus Baca Some guy who was on the NPR show "Ask Me Another" mentioned a cat or dog (don't remember which) named Jaheira. I was delighted with that.
Imoen Bačová? :D
After playing the Imoen romance mod?
One of my all time favorite games
It just got re released
looking forward to playing it again
Thumbs up for the upload
My hotel's as clean as an Elven arse!
JoelPhilosophy *burp* "I need an ale"
I need a swig of some stroong, dwarven ale!
@@KingLich451 don't you mean "dwarrrrven ale" ;)
I miss that game!
FOR THE FALLEN!
I loved BG1 back then and still love it today but man were some of the fights hard.
My first experience of this game was that when I got to the friendly arm inn, the assassin wizard feared the whole party. Then proceeded to butcher Imoen before our very eyes.
+AgeofGuns Xzar was always the first to drop in my runs.
"AND THE MAD WIZARD FALLS!! Saves me the trouble."
BG is one of the best cRPG's out there IMO
still the best RPG I've ever played :)
Actually it's the best for everyone ! :D
Holy cow this is epic!! I've been a Baldur's Gate lover since I was a kid
this is basically Oblivion's soundtrack for me, my brother had a mod that made this it's music, glad he did, its epic
A really amazing BSO for a really amazing game. I love it!
This is awesome XD Love it. I listen to is when I do my homework. Gets me quite motivated :P
thank you for the upload !

vagrant story was a good JRPG. I liked its unique style in that it was a JRPG set in a western fantasy.
Tempus, give us victa-ree!
guys there is game called project eternity coming out, its gonna be like baldurs !
btw music takes me back! all the best to all BG fans!
''rather, why dont we just skip the small talk, and get right to the killing?''
the best in the game though: ''fear my wrath for it is great indeed''... chills down my spine
me too man! but i think it will be awesome, it was kickstarted, so it wont be that commercial like all the games today.
I'm sad I never got into this game as a kid. A friend bought me the enhanced edition but it's hard to get into without a nostalgia factor.
Just try it out, after few hours i can guarantee you will love it, however i would suggest you to play the original one, the enchanced is a bit lame (imho) :)
60groszy The enhanced one is all I have. Are you saying there's an original setting on the game or something? What's different?
Abelhawk

Yes o omnipresent authority figure, (Party character to gamer)
i love jaheira but fuck that line!
Yu Zhou That's one of the absolute best lines of Jaheira.
Minsc and Boo!!
By Moradin's hammer!
Gorion No doubt you would be proud of my actions. (Or perhaps you would have none of this!)
Hah! Time for a bit of the rough n tumble!
this music brings back memories....
very good memories

Nope, I found the whole OST years ago on the web. I knew that it would be useful one day
My favorite shit: "Heya! It's me, Imoen!"
Me and my friend literally killed her as soon as we got out in to the forest, and we summarily dumped her from our party.
Ninth Shade WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!? She was your sister! Your blood! And not really that annoying after the first few "Heya"s :D
AyanneCZ
"HEYA, IT'S M-" Enjoy the remainder of this game at Garl Glittergold's shrine, bitch! ;)
AyanneCZ Considering who your mutual dad was that actually makes a lot of sense. Blood will tell and all that! OOPS that probably was a bit of a spoiler in the event there is somebody out there who dosn`t know the game!
Yeah, I'm following this game since its announce. I think it will be the real successor for BG serie... or I hope it at least
I came here to decide, whether buying this soundtrack for a Steam sale was worth it.
The answer is yes.
Thanks a lot.
*geeks out*
Fighting for survival is pretty cool
What ost plays inside the buildings in baldurs gate city? For example in the iron throne?
I remember being a slower, calmer version of the song "Exploring the Plains" But I cannot find them.

What was the music that played during the trailer to Baldur's Gate? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
"Yes, oh omnipresent authority figure?"
Minsc approves this soundtrack - And so does Boo! *squeak*
Project Eternity, by Obsidian
