One of the best games i have ever played in my life. Top story, interesting characters, dialogues, spells, awesome soundtrack. Unique and untouchable :)
By Torm, 150 000 views ++++ Didnt expect that, it was for my personal use as I love listening to these soundtracks while drawing/paintings. Greatest saga ever made. Have a nice day, Tiax salutes you
+080Cobra you got that right, BG2 is the game I that I pester people to play at least once to this day. - In case you didn't know a new chapter in the saga has just been released (Siege of Dragonspear).
I really love that ambient sound when you are in trademeet during the day. the voices and everything is just superb like the sounds a city full of trade and life.
The main difference between BG and Pillars of Eternity, is that I skip the menu music in PoE as fast as possible to get through to the game, and in BG I often leave it on just to hear it, enjoy it. Such quality.
My favorite song is the one that plays at 10:30. Love this game. Lol I played it when I was jobless, sitting at home hoping for a phone call. I bought the game, installed it, tried to play it for about an hour, didn't like it, uninstalled it, and let it sit on my shelf for a year. Then I lost my job due to an injury, was homebound, had nothing better to do, installed it, gave it another try, made a good character, got outside of the dungeon, realized how huge the game was and never looked back....well except to make another character, who wasn't as tough to play as my first one lol.
I first played Baldur's Gate 1 when I was 15. The buzz I got when I came home from school and started playing was immense, but I found the game really difficult from just being too inexperienced to understand the little nuances that grant you victory. I succumbed to using a character editor to power-up my character, however I made the mistake of assuming a higher number was always better.... So there I was with a THAC0 of like 50.... Every battle took ages as that meant I'd land like 1 hit every 500 swings! I'd get to a boss and get killed over and over and so I started increasing my health. So I beat Daveorn with 999hps... A bag filled to the brim with health potions and a THAC0 of 50+..... I remember thinking "HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS HARD LOL!".
Heh, that sounds a lot like what I did when I first started playing. There was this one place where a lich would appear if you clicked on a tomb. I didn't know how to defeat him since he would cast protective spells on himself, and I only used straightforward melee characters. So I just gathered all my guys and placed them in a circle around the spot where this lich would appear so that they would all hit at once when he appeared before he could start to cast. And I just reloaded every time when he'd cast his protective stuff on him until I finally managed to get off 2 crits on him and outright killed him. Took maybe 40 reloads. The silly things you would do as a child. Ah, good stuff.
Kees de Vries I cheated with BG1... sort of. I found if you took Imoen and your main character to the coast, they could kill sirene's fairly easy and that also yielded tons of experience spread only between two characters. Once all the sirenes were dead I took them to kill basilisks. Must have died a hundred times. Before starting BG2 I took my main character back through BG1 (imported him) and got all the tomes over and over until I had 25 in every ability score. Got so fast (with a lvl 8 character) that I could complete the game in 25 min and get all the tomes. Funnily enough, having an uber main just made me sloppy in BG2, so it felt just as hard as if I hadn't cheated.
haha yea been there done that , OR Place a theif with cloak, so u could cast off fireballs or that acid aoe spell, forgot the name meant killin off nasty stuff :D and easy xp :)
Everything in this game, so lush so deep to complete and immersive, All the wonderful little details from the little things like the sound of your character walking changing depending on what they are wearing and the surface of the floor.
Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition is now out on Steam, in case someone didn't know. I've never been a fanboy at all, but I'm getting it and giving it a chance.
Yeah, it's fun most of the time. Some of the quests I've come across are a bit tough to figure out and one of the new followers has barely been playtested (starts shouting stuff non-stop as soon as you go into his quest). The magic system is great btw, many really powerful spells that wreak havoc on smaller creatures yet not so powerful as to make bigger ones too easy. And when loot is not leveled as in many newer games, it's fun getting a good sword early on and just plow through the goblins. I'm about 15 hours in and I know I've just scratched the surface here.
***** i tried BG1 once, i was too noob to even complete chapter 1 (i never played D&D so i did know how worked the dice gameplay). the i tried BG2 and it was epic (the players has more Life Points woow) anyway i finished the second chapter with the expansion once now i reinstalled it and wanna finish it again yeah
They should make more games like this. I mean the whole thing, the upper view of the character, so many cool items and side quests... graphics isn't what counts
Rodrigo Miguel I wish they made a remake of the originals to the PoE engine, I mean, the port for NWN2 of both baldur's gate is simply amazing, but the infinity engine is just the way to go for CRPGs
Only sublime soundtracks help great games ascend to become masterpieces that stand the test of time. Even though it's been more than fifteen years now, I still cannot help shivering whenever I listen to the Domain of the Dragon or Waukeen's Promenade.
Getting goosebumps, just by listening to the first 60 seconds. "You must gather your party, before venturing forth." Greatest game there is, me thinks, while feeding my hamster Boo.
I wish I could immortalize my love for this game with something awesome. I should try making some fan art. I actually had a journal in real life that I documented so much of the role playing and adventure with. You just get so lost in it.
DUN DUNNN DUNNNNN! I have never forgot that epic opening! I think vanilla WoW borrowed some of this for inspiration because vanilla WoW had some similar sounding tracks
I used to play this game years ago when my brother bought the expansion pack. I've been feeling nostalgic lately and I really want to play this or a re released version. Is it still available to purchase or download from somewhere?
seriously, its worth it. Buy the GoG IF you want to buy something, the steam version is rather broken and mod....unfriendly. Check out this thing www.gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/baldurs_gate_2_essential_mods/page1 that should help you make the game more awesome with the perfect tweak, patch and TRUE fix.
Took me 2 years to completely play from BG 1 all the way to the end of Throne of Bhaal. It will likely be a very long time before I endeavor to play through it again, but when I do, I'll check out the enhanced edition fo sho
John Millthorpe It took me around 3 weeks to beat all 3 games with single Sorcerer. These guys are OP as hell by the end of Underdark, even with rised difficulty of Trilogy mode.
I didn't skip anything. I was on summer break though. Plus, as I said, Single-Sorcerer run proofed to be piss-easy. I was at lvl 31 (max) by the end of Underdark segment. Staff of Magi with its free invisibility helped a lot too. All I had to do after that is to collect artefacts.
Single-monk run would be a pain though. I tried it once, got to lvl 9 by grinding ankhegs, estimated lvl 15-16 to beat Sarevok (which meant around 50 hours of frigging ankheg-grinding) and dropped it. BG2 and ToB would be way too easy though. Just run to everyone and kick 'em in a jaw. Kill dragons and Kangaxx with your bare hands.
There are Soundtracks I've never heard In-Game after 3 or 4 times I played it :/ But its still one of the best RPG's ever made! Look forward for Project Eternity, I hope it would be great. :)
The shadow dragon was the easiest to kill. Just make sure you have your stone turned on where he can't see you and make sure your parties auto attack is turned off. Send one fairly strong summoned creature to the dragon and you will notice that the dragon will dispel it. Next, summon all of the most powerful creatures at your disposal and upgrade them with spells if you can and then send them all to attack the dragon. The dragon will not even move while they kick his butt. This will continue until he is dead.

TheKrianTV Not quite the same as a new Baldurs Gate. I want another adventure with my main character from Baldurs gate and all the character's I've come to love.

eh my lads, thats pure RPG GAME, not like modern shitty "machine gun bolt crosbow" or "fifty fireballs per second" mages...That's pure art, when soundtrack kick You into Amn without any lag...eh..
Though why you'd want to when you could instead follow a Chain Contingency of 3 Horrid Wiltings with another 3-4 Horrid Wiltings inside a Time Stop+Improved Alacrity I'll never know. (I mean, aside from the fact that nothing would have survived the first three unless it was immune to magic in the first place.)
Can't you add a breakdown in the description ? I'm looking for the sond that plays when on the walls of the De'Arnise Castle and I don't feel like listening to the while thing for that. Thanks for uploading this anyway.
In other games defeating a Dragon is easy, in BG 1 with your level 1 Charakter 8-10 HP a Wolf with ~23HP feels like a real victory. And your first real Assassin feels like a end Boss. One Attack on you or your Sister is a death sentence if you are unlucky. (or a Mage)
I learned English with these games. Literally playing with a dictionary. Fun times!
Same here, English class became a piece of cake afterwards ... though my pronounce is awful :)
krua Me too. Now I can understand everything, but I speak like an orc!
Wow, that's incredible! Where are you from, if I may ask, and what's your native language?
Nathan, I come from Taiwan, After BGII, I keep studying English, keep going ...
I played with a very big dictionary too. Now I'm working for a game translate. All thanks to this game!
One of the best games i have ever played in my life. Top story, interesting characters, dialogues, spells, awesome soundtrack. Unique and untouchable :)
I think it is the best game I have ever played.
You forgot about the amazing graphics that created this world.
This is so full of nostalgia
I can put it no other way: this game helped shape my life.
Jelboo me too... I think....
Jelboo same here. It is my favorite, it beats PoE as well, and probably Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness as well.
So are you guys like mages now in real life or something? ;p
+Alluurpo He's prolly in his mid 30s now, with a CS degree, wife, kids and mortgage :)
ArchonMkS You're wrong, I'm actually a mage.
go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes!!!!
squeaky wheel gets the kick!
Boo in my heart
I come armed to the teeth, and fucking a hamster!
boo needs his exercise, : P

I remember feeling sad as the story completion bar edged towards 100%, I wanted this game to go on forever. What memories.

Kangaxx the demi lich. Probably the hardest fight in the game.
@@yugen Possibly one of the liches that guard Kangaxx's golden body parts.
The best score music.

48:43. ahhhhh the space-bar mashing. the heart skipping a beat. and the battle begining. good times
For the glory of Amn!
So love this game. And the music is full of memory. For the glory of Amn!

It's a really good game. I've played the original version and liked it so I guess this would be the same - the new items are quite handy to have!
Caitlin -chan
theres a few more quests, and new party members :D i am totally loving it.
Best game i ever played in my life. Top graphics, storyline is absolute godlike and the characters are all great!
They should make more games like this. I mean the whole thing, the upper view of the character, so many cool items and side quests... graphics isn't what counts

Pucadupr Check out Pillars of Etternity

thanks bro. I just bought it :D

theres a port of baldurs gate into nwn2?
Brings back so many memories.
I wish there were extended versions of these tracks.
That 0:22 ... just epic ^^
Awe inspiring I'd say, this small perhaos 20 second section is in my opinion the best part :)
There is no word for the memories this brings back. Speechless
Still gives me goosebumps. That opening theme,,,,
Right?
this game will always be in my heart. One of the best epic RPGs ever made
Only sublime soundtracks help great games ascend to become masterpieces that stand the test of time.
Even though it's been more than fifteen years now, I still cannot help shivering whenever I listen to the Domain of the Dragon or Waukeen's Promenade.
Can't wait for Barkely's Gate 2: Shadow of Slam.
Music that fits the game perfectly, and both game and music are timeless
Mmmmmmm, listening to this makes me want to play the game again.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
Play this on background while watching some Lets Play Baldurs Gate series with no sound = Epic feeling!
My legend!! I miss the moment that i played this game, forever.
ah yes... my love and joy ! Underdark being my favourite part !
Also great to write DnD along this ost...
The very first RPG i bought and the one stands still and rocks my game experience up to date.
The music in this game is so God damn fantastic that i simply can not understand why the guy never made any more game music after this.
Just hearing the intro makes me want to play.
one of the best rpg games
I love that first theme song. Oh childhood memories.
dem feels... so much nostalgia
sometimes I caress the bitemarks on my old keyboard
the battle music is this game always get me sooo pumped!
Even if you don't like the game, the music is enough to hold on too.
The music is simply incredible. I guess that's what happens when you get a highly acclaimed professional composer to create your game soundtrack.
Getting goosebumps, just by listening to the first 60 seconds. "You must gather your party, before venturing forth." Greatest game there is, me thinks, while feeding my hamster Boo.
wow listening to this 10+ years later with a proper sound card and speakers... amazing, didn't sound anything like this on my amd k2 400 xD
Thanks man, that'd be awesome.
the beginning is just epic :D
"fleet of foot and all that"
+Andrew Kerr "and I can dance on the head of a pin, as well!"
Poor Yoshimo...of not for his compelled betrayal, he was one of my favorite party members :(
Turn this soundtrack on and memories just rush back. Good memories. :)
Michael Hoenig is God
ah, good memories... I really miss this game
46:12 one of the very best songs.
ToEE engine is actually really beautiful to look at. I enjoyed just wandering around towns and stuff. The combat was hard as balls though!

yeah !!!!!! I noticed that few days ago, it's a shame I forgot it !!! And the Firkraag theme is really epic.

Sorry auto correct changes Beamdog to "branding" for some reason
best soundtrack ever! :D

I guess that makes sense since you're getting all the experience points for yourself. I just thought it would be so hard with only one character.
Vielen Dank!!!
17:43 I went crazy, too much awesomeness.
RIP Black Isle. I'm glad to see Fallout went to better places. But we still wait for a Baulder's Gate 3
+Steve Uberfiend Siege of dragon spear.
Better? Hell no! I am ok with f3 but it is a far lesser experience than 1&2!
This is very true. But Bethesda did give their best effort. And even included a memorable song from the "Ink Dots".
Yes, I'm well aware of the 1 and 2 enhanced edition; Koki. They put in a triumphant amount of work. I'm happy about the new PCs. (:
baldurs gate 3 is now official. Hopefully it turns out well
Jaaooo kako mi se sad igraaa ovooooo :DDD
They don't make games like this anymore.
Now they will.
Good music for MTG saloons or markets
There are Soundtracks I've never heard In-Game after 3 or 4 times I played it :/
But its still one of the best RPG's ever made!
Look forward for Project Eternity, I hope it would be great. :)
i think i have played this game through 99 times :)
Get same feelings listening to this as I do LotR soundtraks.. ace, time to reinstall.
25:03 just keeps reminding me of murdering Diseased Gibberlings
No worries bro, I didn't hear some part of this music too, just like You :D
And of course I played this game 1000 times too :D
19:56 Best intro!!! :D
If Baldurs gate 2 enhanced edition is successful, then branding may make a third game!
Fuck! I am all tears now. Nostalgia....

I wanna new baldur's gate !
You meen Pilars of Enternity ? Should came out in this year ;P

Not quite the same as a new Baldurs Gate. I want another adventure with my main character from Baldurs gate and all the character's I've come to love.

dont like this comp anymore, i have fckin pack of mod 9 gb so it's good
and here's 2019 and your dreams came true xD
Maybe the best videogame pirate song ever. I dunno it's between this and Final Fantasy V's "Pirate's Ahoy!"
okay that's enough comments now
Best soundtrack ever. Also, more D&D games should be made.
back when games didn't suck.
eh my lads, thats pure RPG GAME, not like modern shitty "machine gun bolt crosbow" or "fifty fireballs per second" mages...That's pure art, when soundtrack kick You into Amn without any lag...eh..
uh, except you p. much could fire off 50 fireballs per second, or close enough...

Thanks for uploading this anyway.
22:22 modern day Detroit city theme!
ya no hacen juegos como estos... :S
i wish they make games like the old days :]
If I can find my original file of this I'll upload the tracklist
whats funny is that i've played this game 1000 times and still there is some music in this vid that i dont recognize O.o

you have to visit all the taverns :P
Great music in 2018 👑🎩🎓👓⌚💰
Dear old Firkraag... cloudkill and close the door :D
Bu and Minsk stand's ready
I don't see the music from the de'Arnise keep- is it in one of the tracks here?
How the hell are we supposed to enjoy game music after hearing this?
