This is basically how the Civil War would go without our involvement, the Stormcloacks would start strong because they have a home advantage and greater physical strength, but they’ll inevitably lose to the Imperial Legion, because none of that matters when faced with Battle Tactics, if the Legion can’t outmuscle the Stormcloaks they WILL outsmart them
"Battle Tactics" don't matter when you're overreaching and you're logistically exhausted, which is what the Stormcloaks could easily achieve with guerrilla tactics and a protracted guerrilla. The US had battle tactics in Vietnam, the Soviets in Afghanistan, and still they lost.
@@Dryadenjoyerthe storm cloaks winning would only really benefit the thalmor strategically. It would make further conquest of Cyrodiil, admittedly they would prefer the civil war go on as long as possible forcing both sides to shoot themselves in the foot by sending as many men as possible to their deaths and exhausting resources, but ultimately a storm cloak victory would still benefit them strategically.

Medieval armies are more mobile than you seem to think. you appear to be Russian or Ukrainian and either way, your own history is pretty good evidence of how fast an army can move with primitive equipment. One of the weird things in the Skyrim game is the absolute lack of cavalry for example. Cavalry was the strength behind both the Mongol conquest of the Kyivan Russia and Muscovy's later expansion into the dominant position it has today. In such flat country cavalry can cover a lot of ground very quickly. And much of Skyrim, especially the Whiterun and Dawnstar plains, is good ground for horses. Ironically, it was the artillery that slowed modern armies down for the First World War. Armies required so much more equipment that it forced advances to slow down and not outrun their supply lines. From where Empire got such armies, if Pale Pass was closed due to avalanches in the mountains?
Its probably safer to bring them from High Rock as that's still the Empire and the Westholds bordering High Rock are for the Empire initially.
