Racism or religious persecution pick one. But remember Skyrim lets other races live with them, they just don't trust them much. Plus the only place we actually see segregation in Skyrim is the Nord Capital because there at war with people that can and will use non imperial or altmer to spy and assassinate people. Now the imperials are forcing nords to relinquish there god and when the nords rightly fight back the imperials slaughter the nords for the altmer.

Now the Imperials are oppressing the nords on the behalf of the altmer and when the nords told them to shove it the empire started killing them.

Talos wasn’t worshipped just fine and Alvor’s anecdotal testimony doesn’t prove he was. That the empire cannot utilise its resources and manpower properly against Skyrim and the Thalmor is the fault of the empire itself. The empire is also no superpower without Skyrim which was always on its own a powerhouse that created most empires. Finally Hammerfell would be more than happy to accept the Nords as allies against both of their enemies as indicated by Skaven’s journal. The only ones who are foolish are the imperials for signing the WGC. No country would ever anger its gods and alienated its allies for a temporary peace treaty.

@teyrncousland7152 the empire had a no win situation for the great war the advisors told the emperor he couldn't win and shouldn't fight but if didn't nords would cry about it so he fights and retakes the capital but realises he doesn't have enough troops to win so he gets a better treaty they lost a fucking unwinnable war of course the treaty is gonna suck but nords in their infinite wisdom decide to cry and start a civil war instead of staying united to beat the elves they could have started a rebellion once the elves where beaten but nope ulfric wanted power and nords being dumb as always joined in as for redguards they have no benefits from joining skyrim they are doing fine alone nords need redguards more than redguards need nords as long as hammerfell can keep invaders out their lands they don't care about the others and as for talos considering it wasn't until stormcloaks started shouting about talos that elves and imperials started cracking down hard I'm inclined to believe alvor words I also wanna bring up ulfric blackmailing torgg with fight me and die or refuse and be denied afterlife and his use of the thuum even if it was to finish him off was uncalled for the empire has it faults yes but the war wasn't its fault and destroying the empire when the elves are still powerful is idiotic as fuck

​@@teyrncousland7152 no, it was either that or destroy themselves fighting aldmeri dominion. They obviously don't plan on being subject to the concordat forever. It would have also been a pyrrhic victory for the elves, if they had won, so for the sake of saving the unnecessary death the concordat was signed. Peace could have been saved for the nords until the breaking of the treaty, but the stormcloaks chose to make war over tradition, killing their brothers and making the first part of the prophecy of alduin come true.

@@fde4346 that mayde true but it also proves that the empire can't or won't defy them. essentially becoming a province of the dominion, not literally but spiritually. So sure if they win and get a puppet on the throne they have more time but that time is not on there side it's the perfect opportunity for the altmer to sow seeds of defeat or revolution in the imperial provinces saying "why fight for an empire that sees you as nothing more than meat for the grinder." And " they slaughtered the nords just to apeas the elves. If they lose again what would they do to you and your people."
