Huge thumbs up to that delivery driver.
That man knows what 'he's doing.
And works fast as well.
Al, you should have have done a quick interview with that driver, asking him his back-story. That would have interesting.
@Poison Ivy he was the same driver from the barn delivery.
@Poison Ivy go back and rewatch the Vid he was very nice and even shook Al's hand. What vid were you watching ?????
@@anitablades6033 she was watching "Let me blame someone for being rude today" video !
@Poison Ivy some people are very uncomfortable speaking in front of a camera. Just imagine going somewhere to do your work and someone records you the whole time. I'm not saying Al is rude or anything, but I can understand that people might be fine with being filmed, but wouldn't want to talk in front of a camera.
Al...you can hear the excitement in your voice..lol. I think I remember seeing Gina and Olivia helping with the barn...your family rocks.. blessings to you all.
OK!!!!
I'm excited!!! Let's build!!!
Thank you for sharing your journey and God bless.
I just love Figaro. The way he side walks to get scratches. Hes adorable.
That driver handled those bunks of lumber like a BOSS! 😀 I hope he got some eggs as a tip.😀
Delivery driver looked like he was ballroom dancing down the road with that lumber! Very Fred Astaire-ish!
look up lumberjack dance its soo cool
He certainly had some skills!
He needs one of those three wheel forklifts where all three wheels turn. would have made things a lot easier.
Your delivery driver is amazing. It really is a skill offloading in restricted areas. I hope you tipped him well!
So sad Maverick and Goose haven’t returned. They have such personality. I just love Figaro. He is one handsome cat. Hope looks so happy with you! She is a favorite of mine since she was born.
Have a fabulous day!
It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I've been watching. Loved watching you build all those structures. A master at work! You do a fantastic job and teaching Gina as you go. Anxious for you to get started. Thank you for doing these videos from Michigan.
Like you, I knew with just my self and my wife I would need a big tractor to move the lumber and raise the “Bents”. We got a Kubota 4760 with a cab and 1140 front end loader.
Like you said those pallets are heavy.
I still have the metal roof to apply
You are such an inspirational family. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your lives with us! 😊😉🤗🙏🏻
That is one Big "ERECTOR" set, minus all of the steel straps! That will be so nice Al! I know you and Gina will embrace this build and have it done within a few weeks!
I just went back to re-watch the barn build time lapse and it was so good! Over 7.4 million views right now! 👍
Yes. Other posters summed it up. It was like a beautiful dance. That gentleman has skills. I would love to get him on a dance floor.
It was refreshing to see the look of a child on Christmas morning, coming from a grown man. I too, seem to have ongoing projects that keep me engaged in life and I think that helps to keep one young. Keep up the GREAT work and I'll see you Monday. :-)
A child at Christmas. Your enthusiasm is one of the things that sparks your channel. It's contagious. So now we start another mysterious project. Sooo who will live in this customized deluxe accommodation? Watch out we may see Al installing indoor/outdoor carpeting for the lucky occupants. Leave enough room for a barn kitty. Figaro needs support as his domain grows. Love to watch your progress and happiness as your homestead grows! Blessings
That delivery driver was a champ. And not that this is a bad thing but your farm is becoming a show room for Jamaica cottage. I am looking forward to see what you are making and see what those skids get upcycled for.
Its great to see a quality product delivered professionally, all too often suppliers are let down by a shoddy deliver
That load wasn't tighten down correctly all the straps were way to loose, hand tightened the last one he had to use the candle-stick on.
Oh, a lot of us guessed right, even down to debating what extras you might do with the space. I'm with Gina on the butter, so I back getting a cow, you won't regret it.
Being able to have stalls open out to that pasture, and bringing the opportunity to have all your land come into full time use is wonderful. Maybe pigs and goats rooting and browsing in the woods, meat birds and other animals on the pasture? It doesn't get much better than that.
I'm glad the goods have arrived, as a subscriber I wanted to say, thank you Jamaica Cottage Shop for sponsorship of this build series. I can't think of a more deserving channel than Lumnah Acres for that sponsorship.
JCS have been great for Lumnah Acres, and if I lived in the States, I'd be ordering from them for sure.
It's going to be a busy few weeks getting that all up before winter, as well as the daily routine jobs. Fingers crossed Gina can avoid the heights. I'm hoping that with Al's history of using JCS products, being used to their system will help speed up the build. 🤞 I throughly enjoyed the barn build. Hoping you both stay safe doing this one, always the most important part.
And of course, in the current climate, stay safe, everyone.
They used to have kayak races on the West River, Jamaica, Vermont back in the day.
Oh so exciting! And even better that it was sponsored by Jamaica cottage! You did such a great job with that barn build and documenting it that I am sure that brought them lots of new business :-) it definitely made me want to buy one!
I love your life! I love mine too but you guys are living a dream. Continued blessings to you!
The sight of the fork lift dancing down your lane was delightful! Looking forward to watching the build. Thanks for the videos. From 🇬🇧
The guy who delivered the wood is so 👌.
It's beautiful to watch him meneuver the machine to place the wood around the build site.
He's definitely a pro!
The day I've been waiting for. Let the building begin! Have a blessed weekend! 🥰🥰
Good mauhnin Lumnah Acres! Woohoo! Let’s get building! That delivery man was amazing. He danced that first load down the lane like a pro. Can’t wait to get started building. Take care!
Equipment shed spied it on one of the pallets, really looking forward to seeing you working on another build. Maybe you can recycle those super strong skids for another project, maybe on the bottom of your chicken tractors
My Lumnah LOL favorite scene from today was the “long plank ballet” to get the first pallet up to the building site. 😎👍👏
And another homestead dream is in the making. I love watching your building projects. Bldgs from Jamaica Cottage look perfect on your farm. No one builds better than Al.
That was totally fascinating! Watching him unload the pallets for the build; couldn't keep my eyes off the screen for a second. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
Really awesome progress on the homestead. Im on my way to put in a woodshop on the homestead. All the clearing of the land is done an next week we do the foundation. Have an amazing weekend Al and stay safe, Andreas 🇸🇪
Good luck, stay safe!
Less is more with the store bought mouse trap. Make it so they have to dig at the bait to get it and the trap will go off more and catch more mice.
Keep the lumber skids for stacking your hay on will keep it from drawing moisture
You can put water in the Bucket add a small layer of dog food to just cover the water don’t fill the bucket up too high about double the size of the Mouse. Or put a little bed in there for Figaro and let him have fun.
Good morning Al and Gina
Another landmark in the course of your beautiful farm
I love your videos
but I still like to see you guys working together in the construction of new buildings
from Portugal the best of luck and RESPECT and admiration of this admirer of your channel for a long time
Hello from South Carolina! This is one of the best parts of youtube and these homesteaders... .we get to meet people from all over the world!
He's so fast on that machine... and it can spin so quickly... it looks like a spider! :) Can't wait to see this project completed!!
Gotta say while still watching, the dilivery man has impressive driving skills. G-d bless our truck drivers!
Good morning, the new building is going to look beautiful, I’m looking forward to the build .
So proud of ya'll stay awesome thumbs up my friends that man is a amazing forklift driver awesome ya'll everyone I build everyday and I'm seeing the blues on this building and I'm extremely impressed with Jamaican cottages wow anyone could build these impressive
This is exciting!!!!! A big Job with the two of you will be fun!! I love how you guys interact!!! It's so obvious that you love each other a lot. And with Olivia on the sky view it'll be particularly beautiful!!!! Yes!!! 💖💛💚💙💜 possible animals???🐒🐄🐏🦄🐴🦁🐯🐪🐑🐘🐿🐇🦃🐨🐼🐊
The way you guys have built up your Homestead is inspiring!
Wow, the skills of that Deliverer is mind boggling. I love your building projects. Build a swimmable koi pond next guys.
koi pond ? traut pond and if adult direct into the smooker🎣😉
with his weather? no koi lives
@@rassziggy Koi is a coldwater fish!
@@docfrank7745 i didn't know you could frezze them for 4-6 months?
@@rassziggy If it's going to be frozen that long, then it's not ideal. But they survive fine in frozen ponds, they stop their metabolism.
The first pallet gave it away. It was brief but readable. Good luck with the build
the link to the kit is also in the description.
Kristen mullican - If you watched video dated 14th July at 11:07 the plans Al was looking at said Equipment Shed & you can see *Jamaica Cottage Shop* logo.
Looking forward to the build. For me, your videos are my lunch break (the Netherlands)
Kind regards, Christiaan
dear mom and dad we arrived in Pensacola Florida air force academy to start faze one of our training we will keep you informed of our training . mav and goose
urban interface living ~ Cute! Lol.
LMAO
Seeing the unloaded materials and all I can think of is what will they make with the skids! Haha
Jeremy Griffin yea we have quite a few skids to build from. We’ll have to get some suggestions from y’all and see what project we can make
Al, Look forward seeing Team Lumnah building another project.
That was so exciting to watch. What a machine and operator. Love seeing an expert at work. I'm so excited for the new build.
I'm so excited for your new project. Winter comes early in your part of the neighborhood and I'll be interested in seeing how far you get with this project before the harsh weather hits. You'll keep me watching and in suspense.
one can in the middle with peanut butter on the can, forces them to jump from ramp to can... add a couple inches of water in the bucket, they will drown... been using this for years at the airport to keep rats and mice out of the airplanes... just rub peanut butter around the can, if the bucket does not have water in it they can jump out...
Our family had ducks and geese and we thought they were taken by predators...turns out a year later they were hanging out in a nearby pond a quarter a mile away. Don’t lose hope...they will come back...it’s their natural instinct to migrate...best wishes!
Excited about this build! Extra bonus having the barn to work out of!
Greetings Lumnah's from Ireland, yahoo another build. Winter is coming so get stuck in, enjoy
That guy loves dancing with that forklift. Good job.
He does. 😆
He had to do a little two-step with that first bundle. I think he’s done that a few times. 😂
Al...Just for grins and giggles, you should set aside a corner of that building for a small Irish micro-brewery (Meade from your honey bees) or winery for Gina from her berry harvests .... Just need a masher, cooker and fermenter and a few ancillary vessels and water supply
He wouldn't need a mash tun or brew kettle for mead and wine. In 4 years of watching their channel I don't recollect them imbibing in alcoholic beverages except kombucha.
@alison webster Thought I remember Gina saying she could use a glass of wine a couple times.
Equipment Shed. That is going to be great. Expanding the homestead. Blessings on your new venture.
I love seeing how your homestead is developing! Can't wait to see this next project of yours and Gina going up .... be safe as you go =)
Alright! New major project. Going to be an interesting next few weeks.
exciting, another project to watch every day here in the UK , usually 11 am UK time.
It’s going to be nice having a place to store everything
@@LumnahAcres and there was me thinking you were creating a little shop to sell your surplus frozen chickens and pickles
I love watching your building projects Al! Could be the ducks found girlfriends, one hope! Miss them too! Love all you cridders!
I'm going to think Maverick & Goose went to a water source to float happily ever after! They loved their water. You took a drone up over your property, I noticed water off in the distance over the trees. There's no sign of feathers like you said. It's fall. They're OK. I'm not thinking differently.
Yes! That’s what I would like to think. They’re finally swimming around being happy 💗🥰
They are at freezer camp with Rusty
lol he’s dancing, great little three wheeler 😀
Boo to the sad sack people giving this video a thumbs down. Keep up the good work Lumnahs.
Whatever you do is ALWAYS on point - The skid loader Guy is poetry in motion. Whatever it is I'm waited with Blessed anticipation. Greetings from Ohio !
Happy now Al. You’ve finally got your next project to work on. I think it’s going to be a flash one.
Put the PB on the edge of the can in the center of the trap.
Yes! The transformer truck is back! 😄😄😆😆 bring on another building project! Mr Figaro is hilarious 😂
Congratulations to your wagon delivery driver excellent skills with the Moffat, now it's your turn Al & Gina good luck building it all .
Thanks vm for you video - interesting! I will give you a useful tip though. We are building a new house, and my husband bought a machine that puts plastic on the drawings. It has been really helpful, when there was rain, the drawings did not get wet. I wish you luck with your new build, and we will be watching and cheering you on :-) Regards from Sweden!
After such an excellent delivery I was shocked you .didnt tip him.
Not everything is shown on camera
Three cheers to the Jamaica delivery driver.
Yes another build, imma say a cow or two will be joining the family by the sounds, always exciting to watch the build
that fork lift carrying thingee is fascinating..........trees? no problem lol
This is gonna be FUN , but I cant wait for you to build a deck or sun porch off the house ! Maybe in the spring ?
Good Morning Lumnah Family.. So excited for another building project.
Thanks! I can't wait to start building it and sharing the process with all of you
Oh, I'm so glad that it is another Jamacian Cottage build! I wish I could get one out here in the west. That driver did an amazing ballet with that first load!
I spent most of yesterday doing some catch up after discovering your channel a couple of months ago. I am now firmly addicted to your life on lumnah acres! One of the really neat things is seeing Gina"s confidence grow and becoming more involved in the operations. The life you are building and the world you are creating, especially for Olivia, will be more treasured than any gold or silver. Well done good people, well done!
That Operator is GOOD!
Okay that's it, think we need to send in Colombo to investigate what happened to Maverick and Goose, I miss those ducks...
I just love how Al get so excited about building!!! LOL I enjoy the builds so much to! I vote for a cow and some more ducks! LOL
Those skids are pretty good size, I foresee more movable projects with those.
Can't wait to see the new building being built! Yall are growing so fast.
You put too much peanut butter on the store trap. Just a mouse bite size on the trip lever . A bite size piece of cheese also works. He starts nibbling on that big gob and sets it off. I always have good luck with them . Also i like the instant kill with the store bought vs the slow drowning in the bucket.
Agreed. More importantly, the mouse sized bite should be in the middle of the trigger at the farthest point away from all the sides.
mice love chocolate. i always use chocolate on a mouse trap
I usually wedge a raisin into the trip lever, and push the peanut butter in and around the raisin. Sometimes it seems they lick off the peanut butter without setting off the trap, but pulling and chewing on the raisin gets them every time.
I put the peanut butter only on the 4 edges of the cardboard and no peanut butter on the cans this way they have to commit. I put a good amount on the cardboard, makes it worth their while to try several attempts. I don't use ramps, the bucket is placed about even with benches and selves, a little jumping onto the cans is more effective.
When you open up the kit, save the netting for projects.
".... I wouldn't want to get stung by that thing ..." as he taps the stinger .... You're just asking for trouble, Al
That gentleman sure knew how to manipulate that rig down the driveway. On the first load, he fairly danced between the trees. He made it look so easy. I am excited for you to start this build and I hope and pray you have good weather all the way. BTW I can see more coops and sheds built on those skids in the future. They are long enough for a little cottage with a porch. hahaha. Have a Blessed day.
Margaret Bedwell ~ Or a genuine Coffee-Smoothie Shop for Olivia.
@@TXNLaurenMcN Right you are....
did you plan for orientation for a potential solar panels install? it would be great for your homestead !
I bet the skids on the pallets will help make a few small buildings in the future.
I can tell how excited you are about this build, I’m happy for you.
Mornin. Yes it turns on a dime “and gives you 9 cents change. Looking forward to more building videos.
Hiya you three, but you're still keeping some information back from us... just like a dad at Christmas never mind a kid!!! I love the twinkle in Ginas' eye when she said about the nail gun, it went a little bit when she talked of hights though...
Gina I love goats cheese, does their milk make good butter?
Take care with yourselves building the lego & stay safe... Steve...
That driver was poetry in motion on the fork. You're happy building things, and we're all happy watching you build things (of course).
I don't blame you for getting so excited when you said the new building was on its way I got excited along with you, can't wait till you get started building.
I’ve heard good things about the Jamaica Cottage shop
A Pirouetting forklift!! Don't see that everyday!👍
Kefa Irish ikr? Just needed a little music!
Like you see at a Country Dancing Hoedown
So exciting here we go here we go here we go. Yeah baby just what us in isolation need. Thank you both for sharing your journey.
Walk around the tree line and look that's where you'll find them if a owl or hawk took them.
The Ducks have probably found a nice pond in the neighborhood
They'll be back first sign of snow
That would be such a relief!
Al should fly the drone around the ponds to check them.
I sure hope you’re right. The boys were a highlight of the homestead.
I wondered why he had not Ck, the Creek ???
Did ya correct the traps, store trap needs to have “bait side” against the wall (90 degrees to wall)
Homemade trap - remove hanger & cans, replace with single wooden Dow, only place peanut butter in center, not near edges.place bucket on floor, they’ll find it, lol
I agree to put the peanut butter right in the center so he has to walk over the can to get it. I also suggested to put a little on the ramp just a little bit. I also used a wooden dowel, its a better axle. Caught 13 in 1 week.
Hi, I really like your family. Just watched your "Christmas Tradition episode" and I was so happy seing Olivia so little . Can you make a playlists that would start from old to newest... Please, please, please....
Speaking as someone who's worked with a few folks who fly drones for agricultural work, Gina is quite a talented drone pilot. Gina, have you ever thought of doing ground school and flying for other farmers in your area?
