This how to video just convinced me not to do it myself.
haha let us know if we can help install a kit!
PITMAN ARM REMOVAL READ THIS: I spent many hours trying to remove my pitman arm. Initially, i bought and tried to use the Schley tool (same as snap on) but couldn't get it on, tried using a jack to hold it up i just couldn't get clearance. Went online and saw thst other people were grinding into the arm then using an air hammer that DOES NOT WORK.
This is what you need to do: A. Get a second set of hands, no way you can do this solo. B. The steering box needs to be moved slightly toward the passenger side then up as much as you can for the snap on / schley to fit. I wish i had this information before spending hours on grinding and hammering.
Thanks for the video otherwise. Also guys pay close attention to the orientation of the tool when he puts it up. Also, my steering wheel was dead center before removing.
Hey Ron that's correct! start the video at 19:55 and we explain you have to remove the pitman arm nut first then the three gear box bolts and in the video the steering box is held up! our techs do it on a weekly basis by themselves! glad the video helped with your install!
Excellent Video. I feel like taking my truck here you would know it is done right!
we would gladly build your truck!
@@highaltitudetrucks Just one quick question. Are those 22x14's or 22x12's?
Great video guys very informative.
Thanks 👍
Who is the ONE hater who hit the dislike lol
seriously! hahaha
Ratchet strap the gear box up to the rear fender support and you can pull the pitman arm by yourself, I didn’t take the skid plate off either, it’s tight but swivel came in clutch with my Milwaukee high torque two bumps of the trigger and normally it pops no issue
skid plate takes 30 seconds to remove and my snap on impact works great
Is a 4’ lift better for suspension or level keys ok for suspension longevity? Also ride quality same on torsion keys or better on lift? Thanks best regards!
that all depends on the quality or suspension parts you choose.
Oh man, Nick knows how to lube up that shaft real good
He's the best at it!
If y’all got time to reply !
I’m wanting to do a 3” leveling kit , but with kryptonite UCA..
I’m green to all this .
I can’t find any help?!
Is it possible to bolt the bracket as opposed to welding? Or is that the only option?
You could just not install it but if you do install it it needs to be welded
Morning!!! Get video. Question 1 does Kryptonite sell 2 style keys for their kits? Cuz I knew GM had 2 torsion key designs on new trucks. Question 2 did u guys have to add caster to one side of truck. We’ve had a few 2020s we had to add caster cuz they pull to the right.
Kryptonite only sells one style of key! this was our first 2020 so that is the first I am hearing about it! we get a caster split of -0.3 and the truck drives amazing
All newer GM trucks 11-current now have a negative camber spec with the updated alignment specs. I had 3 shops misalign my truck being none of them have the current software which fixes the ghost GM truck steering pull
If I can’t get that pitman arm puller what other way could I get that free from the gear box? Thanks for the video it helped me out a lot.
unfortunately that is the only way you can remove the pitman arm without damaging the gear box you could remove the gear box completely and it would make it easier to remove the pitman arm
Thank you for the reply. I use a wide pickle fork and don’t think I cause any damage. 🤞. Thanks again for the video.
@@zmoney238 oh no 😬 RIP gear box
Does this kit work on the 6.6 gas too? The reason why I ask you keep referring to the truck as a duramax!
yes, same design minus the engine lol
Thanks, I'm sure they enjoyed them.
Atleast show the truck when finished!
Unfortunately we didn't have time to get finished shots of the truck but here is a video by Salinas of the truck ua-cam.com/video/CHbP6BNHee8/v-deo.html
Great video. What size are those wheels and tires, offset?
What will the steering feel like after the ultimate front end is installed.? Besides strength what is the improvement?
Very Strong and great drivability with tighter steering
@@highaltitudetrucks Any recalibration needed on trucks with the digital steering assist?
My steering is stupid tight like 1970’s K10 trucks with no power steering. Love it. I also tightened the steering wheel bushing screws as well to tighten the steering up. No one knows of that repair I spent 2 years finding it on UA-cam. It is a thing that plagues the 1500-3500hd GM trucks. You can throw all the steering parts at it and the wheel still is sloppy…. Open the top cover off the column and look for the two T30 (orT25 I can’t recall) screws on the rotating assembly and only turn them 1/16-1/8 turn at a time evenly until snug and don’t over tighten. It will tighten the wheel up internally. My buddy had steering columns replaced in his fleet trucks until I showed him the hidden trick and after checking the screws they were all loose and a new column only fixed the issue for a few thousand miles.
What size is the pitman arm nut that requires crows foot to torque
Good morning . I just finish installing that same kit on 2017 Chevy 2500. Did you have an issue of the tie rods touching the bump stops?
that's interesting we did not! is your truck lifted?
I have 2021 Sierra 2500HD SLE I am planning to do the same setup can you advise roughly how it will cost me... THANKS in advance
you are looking at about $4,000 out the door
“Best company there is”. Follows it up by having to beat the product into place and saying use spacers if needed. 😂🤦♂️
It is the best 🤷🏻♂️ and the reason you have to hammer it in is because GM designed a shitty ass frame and not a single companies upper control arms fit perfect. Second Fox doesn’t design or anyone for that matter a proper length shock for leveled Duramaxs. The extenders help give you more down travel when you are cranking the torsion keys.
Hi guys! i have one 2500 2020, and i lifted with a rough country lift kit 5 inches, so now the truck feels not stable at the front, like if take road with some angle truck try to pull to the lowest side of the road, and need to hold my steering wheel to the opposite side, if install this kryptonite ultimate front end package, what benefits i gain on driving? more stability? feels like more stronger steering?, can you gave some advice? thanks!
hey peacock fine jewelry did you align your truck? sounds like more of an alignment problem! the kryptonite kit is amazing it makes your steering tighter and way stronger
may be a dumb question but would this whole process be the same for a 15 duramax?
Yes
I hate when I watch an install video and they never show the end result...is 10 seconds ofr walk around at the end too much to ask
we appreciate your opinion and unfortunately didn't have time to do that on this particular build
who makes the most badass 1-3” suspension system that has a lot of travel including upper/lower CAs, king shocks, & deaver leafs?
there really isn't anything like that available for duramaxs I would do a kryptonite kit with deaver leaf springs
What size are the rims and tires?
22x12 wrapped in a 33x14.50R22
@@highaltitudetrucks trimming needed?
It looks like my Z71 factory skid plates will go back in after this kit install, is that true?
I believe it should!
Another front leveling kit install video with no diff drop
You don’t need a diff drop for a leveling kit!
The guy talk very simple 👏 👌 👍 🙌 🙄
thanks for watching!
Can you run the factory 20’s with a 37x12.50 with this kit? Or do you have to run a spacer?
Look up suspensionmaxx leveling kits for these trucks. Comes with everything except upper control arms. But like you saw in this video it raised the front end more than specified and he had to lower it back down. No need for control arms unless you're bottomed out on the bump stops, and if you are, you're rear end will be squatted lower than the front......suspensionmaxx has videos on here. Check them out
37" tires may be pushing it, it would probably rub while turning.
Basically this is great. It's only missing one thing - doughnuts!
maybe one day there will be doughnuts! come on nick 😂
What size tires where those 33s or 35s
They are 33" tires (33x14.50x22)
What sizes rims and tires please
22x12 on 33s
Hey man do you reuse the cam bolts? Or Is it necessary to buy some
hey mike you can reuse them
Where is the shop located?
We are located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Our full address is on our website! Highaltitude.us
How much of an offset on the wheel?
I belive -44
What's the cost of this kit?
about $3,000 for parts
Great video
Thanks!
What size wheels and tires??
22x12 wrapped in a 33x14.50R22
High Altitude Motorsports thanks!!
@@highaltitudetrucks you said big tire in the video but 33 is like an inch shorter than stock
@@austincantrell2575 Yeah but MUCH wider...... The wider setup will rub on full lock. It's not just about the height.
@@RMC2021 its a 2500 not a 1500 i run 35x12.5 r20 on mine with no rub and a rough country 3 inch lift
With this lift, do you need spacers to drop the differential (and skid plate) to maintain factory driveline alignment?
no this is only a leveling kit and the new trucks can handle the more aggressive cv angles
Im getting ready to install stage 3 kit on my 2024 hd. Can i get enough lift to get it perfectly level? Or even slight rear rake? Great video bro btw!!!
How does it look? I'm debating 3" cognito over the Kryptonite 2"
@chrisc5574 it looks really good!! Nothing to crazy like a big lift but it looks good. I went with kryptonite because of the upper control arm ball joint grease fitting. They look good but more importantly it rides great. I even cranked the keys up a little bit with no problems
@chrisc5574 it sits perfectly level BTW sometimes it even looks like it might have a little rear rake the look I was going for
