Wowhead Brewmaster Monk Guide: www.wowhead.com/brewmaster-monk-guide Major Changes to Report: Night Fae Soulbind Niya's Burrs trait (bottom of the tree) has been fixed to work against bosses. This makes Night Fae extremely competitive with Kyrian and Necrolords in single target, as well as being better in AoE. It's still extremely close, they're basically all very, very, *very* close to equal in single target, with Night Fae having more variance and being more punished by movement, but clearly jumping ahead in AoE. The decision is about the same, but if you were scared of going Night Fae because they might lack damage in raids, they should be very competitive.
While working on the VDH guide last night, they completely redesigned their Necrolord ability, cut part of the Night Fae ability by 50%, and stealth-buffed Venthyr by about 15% with no hotfix data. Not even mad (well...), but this is going to be a wild, wild launch!
Definitely a honest approach to the class. Much appreciated as I wanted to try it for Mythics... little bit tired of DH and Pallies get boring after a while.. Subbed!
Nice! Tried all tanks and brew is the most fun. Happy I found this channel and got some more insights. Also read you articles. Thanks a bunch! Appreciate it.
Perfect! This is the guide I've been looking for. You have a new subscriber! Thank you. Now to beat my head against the wall trying to figure out who I wanna pledge my allegiance to lol.

As someone who is thinking about trying out tanking for the first time, would you suggest Brewmaster? So far it's the only one other than Vengeance DH that has peaked my interest, Ven DH a little less so due to its defensive uptime unless that's actually a non issue.
Brewmaster monk vulpera or brewmaster monk highmountain tauren? And why? I am playing wow since 7 days I’ve never played wow and at the moment I have a demonology warlock .
Highmountain Tauren is a little bit tankier due to their passive Versatility, and Bull Rush is a really nice piece of utility. Ultimately, any race can be a good Brewmaster Monk, so if you like the way one looks more, play it and don't worry about the rest!
I feel guilty for running venthyr strictly for the armor. I knew exactly what I was giving up but...god the leather sucks for the other covenants. Like really bad.
Hey there - thanks for the awesome video - helped me to get into monk since a started playing again after 4 years of break :) What macros are you using ? Best regards and keep on going
Itll be my second one for sure doing primarily m+. It's so handy to be able to delete a problematic mob seconds earlier than they would normally die. A 2 min CD on it seems very handy!
That's true, it's a fun bonus for relatively trivial, non-group content. For longer single-target or council fights, it tends to be worthless since you generally only get to cast one Touch of Death per encounter. In Mythic+, you'll generally be better served going to with Stormstout's Last Keg, both for damage and defensive value.
I have frost mage, shaman and frost death knight, recently i created monk and thinking about either going hard tank brewmaster because i have no tank or to go mist monk because i like healing as well
I really dont like the fact that brewmasters dont use their weapons in fight. i have so many nice transmog weapons and sets but my weapon rest at my back the entire fight :(
It's good for fairly trivial content, like world quests and low-level Mythic+, but for anything where mobs have relatively large health pools, its value drops off immensely.
Love your guides! Quick question; I am one of two main tanks for my guild. We run raids and mystic+. I'm stuck between Druid and Monk. After playing the Beta what do you recommend for guild just trying to make it through. What covenants seems best for which tanks.
They are both good, stable tanks. Druid has a little more versatility in terms of being able to throw healing around, but that tends to be much more useful in M+ than in raids. Monk tends to be more stable and steady across M+ and raids. As for Covenants, Kyrian/Necrolord/Night Fae are all pretty competitive for Monks, and all four have their uses for Bears.
Nice video Thanks! I'm just wondering if weapons of order pared with the keg smash legendary gives you potential 4 kegs and if they reset cd of brews 😁.
If you're using Stormstout's Last Keg, Weapons of Order just resets 1 Keg Smash charge. You can still get the debuff stacked to 4 in only 14 seconds, which is a good reduction from the default minimum of 21 seconds, but it's ultimately not a *huge* boost.
I love your presentation style and channel name. subbed also i found Fallen Order to be pretty fun. True, its a set it and forget it ability, but thematically it was hilarious and fun to have army of dead but monks. I eventually switched to Necro for Bonedust, but I found myself having a blast popping fallen order on bosses or ohshit pulls. stinks the throughput isnt there yet. if the cooldown was reduced with brews like bonedust, then Fallen Order would be more competitive.
Nothing changed in terms of balance. Kyrian has been the most popular since day 1, but it's the least noticeable visually. Night Fae is third on popularity for Brewmasters -- not because it's bad! It wasn't quite as good as Necrolord or Kyrian until Soulbind changes that happened during the last three days of Beta, so a lot of people wound up not playing it, but it's great! It's also the Covenant that's easiest to see.
@@WoWatNight I see, so it was just dumdum of me. Thank you for your answer AND the video! Despite reading the guide first, I'm more of a audio learner.
It was easier when Kyrian was just the clear #1, that's very true. But hey, just go with your heart -- as long as your heart doesn't want to be a vampire!
@@JubeeHS13 i switched to kyrian from necro and it has helped a bit and since this post i have my stormstout leggo so i'm doing a lot better now with surviving :P
not trying to be a dick, genuinely a tip from my side: This video is pretty long, which I understand considering the content. But you pause really often between sentencing and add fluff content (like explaining that stuff can change twice at the start). It was a bit frustrating to watch because I just want to get to the meat of the video. Of course this is just my opinion, but I think this might improve your vids.
That's why there are chapter links you can click to skip things like the intro, for you or anyone who shares that opinion. They are located in the video scrub bar and also in the description. There's also a written version on Wowhead.

Kudos to you for not losing it with all the changes. I bet it makes it pretty hard to get content - especially video - released.

So I'm a bit confused on the legendaries, are they just crafted into a piece of gear or are they actual legendary items?

Absolutely. Brewmaster has become a lot simpler in Shadowlands, and it is definitely a safe, stable tank for first-timers.
@@WoWatNight thanks, I'll have to give it a try.
Sounds like blizz have no idea what they are doing with covenants

What do you think of the reduced cooldown on touch of death legendary for raid and m+ ? Is it worth anything ?
Amazing for open world and torghast (you can get 0 cooldown ToD with it in Torghast) fun for dungeons. not necessary for anything though.
Itll be my second one for sure doing primarily m+.

Does weapons of order have cd or its just passive buff ? Nice video btw keep it up
It's a 30 second duration, 2 minute cooldown. Thanks for the kind words!

Is brewmaster good in PvP
Having done an unusually large amount of rated PvP lately, I can honestly answer this: No.
