so the first witch house song i heard actually sounded house and made me want to start stepping "Nominal - Everyday Anyone". i feel like some people are getting confused and just labeling every slow, chill, dark sounding electronic song witch house now. dark electronic genres have been around for years already. if it doesnt sound like house, then just call it dark electronic or dark whatever. some "witch house" songs ive ran into sounds just like dark dubstep or deep dubstep.
There are witch house tracks that are technically "house" but the stuff that rose to the top and became definitive is more in the style of Drag. for definitive slower tracks, see White Ring, SALEM, oOoOO. For definitive uptempo (closer to actual house) see pictureplane, Modern Witch, Ritualz, etc.
