Am I the only one who loves the line "They say the captain goes down with the ship, so when the world ends will God go down with it" ? Just the way its sung and everything is just great.
5 Seconds Of Phan! At The Discol-/ I'm not saying he sounds bad, I actually really love him! Panic! is personally my favorite band. It's just that everybody is so calm and he just isn't haha
Lizzy Simba Yeah I know I meant that it was unexpected so while everything was so sad and slow Brendon brought back the excitement in the emotion so the people can have something different to be kept on their toes while listening to this song. This is how I feel because this is my favorite FOB song and favorite all time song right after This Is Gospel
+5 Seconds Of Phan! At The Discol-/ when i listend this i didn't even notice them singing in the background but then i heard fucking DANCE DANCE and i was like MY BABY OMFG ;-;
I love how they got a bunch of artists to help with the part where they mash up the choruses. Elvis Costello sang some of the original chorus, Gabe Saporta sang the chorus of Grand Theft Autumn/Where is Your Boy Tonight, Travis McCoy sang Sugar, We're Going Down, Brendon Urie sang Dance, Dance (which gave me the chills, god damn), Doug Does sang This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race, Alex DeLeon sang Thnks Fr th Mmrs and William Beckett sang the end. This has to be one of my top favorite Fall Out Boy songs.
I love how in this song no ones makes fun of Patrick with his unclear words, like Sugar,we're Goin Down or This Ain't A Scene It's an Arms race. We're just sobbing together.... as a community
Literally when I heard this song for the first time and got to the part where they sing the choruses of the other songs I gasped out loud and pressed my headphones in so i could hear it better Suffice to say this song went from a check to a check plus
Martha Gerdes Pete's also the reason Patrick wears fedoras. In early FOB they were at a photoshoot and they wanted to take pics of Patrick alone, but he was really shy. So Pete took him to the side and Pete GAVE HIM HIS FEDORA so he could feel secure. Like he could "hide" behind the fedora. IS HE NOT THE BEST FRIEND EVER?😍
Martha Gerdes I KNOW! :D He is such an awesome friend. Pete was also the one that convinced him to sing in the first place. SO, without Pete, we pretty much would never had heard Patrick's beautiful voice. Thanks, Pete.
Is it just me or do the parts from the other songs play in different ears? Where Is Your Boy - Right Sugar, We're Going Down - Left Dance, Dance - Right This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race - Left Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - Right Growing Up - Left.
Okay I know everyone's all emo rn including me BUT CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT to realize everyone else is singing all calmly and smoothly and then you hear bden just DAYNCE DAAYNCE WERE FAaLlING ApPArT
Kelley hemmings you just made me imagine this: in the recording studio~ Travis McCoy *swaying gently to the beat*: and sugah, we're goin' down swinging Brendon *flailing arms*: DAAAAAAAAAAYYYNCE DAaAAAaAYYYYNCE WAAAH FALLING APAAAAHT TO HAAAAAALF TAAAHHHHM
I like to think that he was asked to do the song and he was like, "aww yisss tell me what i'm doing how much do i get to do is it like a lot???" and then they explained to him that he got to sing four lines and he said, "... fine. then it's going to be the best most passionate four lines these people have ever heard."
This song has such emotional values and meaning to me. To be honest, I am a severe depression sufferer and have considered ending it all. But this song gives me hope, reminds me that throughout everything, I still have my friends. That's what this band did for me and always shall.
trust me, it gets better. i have no idea who you are, but its ok. FOB is definitely the band to listen to. there are always people in the world that love and care about you. and from petes words, "I care about you."
I don't mean to make you guys cry but...... Did you know that Pete wrote this song for Patrick promising he'd never commit suicide.......let that soak in

Love fall out boy, they are always there when my depression and anxiety takes a turn for the worse. They feel like 4 guardian angels who will always be there. Not sure what I'd do without their music. They're my inspiration.
I love how all the comment ive read about this song are positive...but I really am crying right now the end was tooo beautiful it gave me chills...I need hugs...
+Michelle i second That... but aw PLEASE don't say Feels... no offense but it makes you seem stupid... really not trying to pick on you just being Inter-neighborly. =)
when I first heard this song, I had Folie a deux on shuffle and I was still quite new to the FOB fandom. I was reading a Peterick fanfic where pete and Patrick eventually get married and adopt a girl but one day her and Patrick die in a car crash. I was kinda sobbing but right at the end of the final chapter Pete looks back on his memories of the three of them and as I read it the bit where they're all singing old songs and it made me cry SO HARD .
I was singing this song, and I got to the Memories part and this girl wearing a revenge Tshirt (I know she only likes Sweet Revenge from a convo she had with my friend) came up to me and said 'OMG that's not how it goes!' So, I politely bit my tongue from serving some sass and decided to give her a chance, "Oh, no, this is What A Catch, Donnie', not Thnks Fr Th Mmrs." "What? What album is that from?" "Folie A Deux..." "Eww, I hate that album! It so sucks! Worst FOB album ever." I then proceeded to tell her she didn't even deserve to wear an MCR shirt and dumped my drink on her shoes. Worth it.
This song gives me the chills. It speaks to my soul, and it helps me put a smile on my face everyday. This song should be like an anthem to something, I swear.
I hate how everyone is commenting like it's so funny that everyone is so calm while Brendon isn't. He's passionate about this song that has such a deep meaning! It's not something to comment upon.
How could anyone expect the guy from Panic! At The Disco to be truly calm about anything music-related? Panicking is the exact opposite of being calm...
I honestly love the mix of the choruses. It seems to alternate. For example; Dance, dance is played in the right earphone then this ain't a scene in the left and so on. And I just cant handle all of this. :CRAIS:
This is a song that Pete wrote for Patrick after his suicide attempt, thanking him for being there and telling him how great he is. It also references Donny Hathaway(referenced in the title even though it's spelled differently). Donny Hathaway committed suicide. His partner was Mrs. Flack(I think her real last name was Flacka though, changed for copyright purposes), so in my opinion, I think it's like Patrick is saying that even though Pete was giving up on himself Patrick was still there for him and he wasn't going to leave Pete("Mrs. Flack said I still want you back"). and the little snippets of the old Fall Out Boy songs are for Patrick showing him all the stuff he has done for the band, because Patrick has/had bad self esteem issues("I've got troubled thoughts / And the self esteem to match"). And the part that Elvis Costello sings("I will never end up like him") is saying that Pete knows now that Patrick cares for him and is always there for him and so he won't end up like Donny, he won't give up on himself or the band again. 😊 Hope this helps for the ones who didn't get it, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. It took me a minute to understand too, but now that I do, it's just so amazing.
for anyone wondering, the "i've got troubled thoughts and a self esteem to match" lyric it's from patrick's perspective, but pete wrote it. It's hard to explain but they said in an article that folie a deux it's full of lyrics that pete wrote from the point of view of someone else. like if he saw a friend struggling with something, he would write lyrics about it from the perspective of said friend. it's a really sweet thing and i thought you guys may want to know it
this such a great song and i love how they added a lot of their best songs in it. its hard not to cry when you hear this song. please never break up or leave or end FALL OUT BOY!!
Laurel Hobert Donny hathaway who committed suicide. And this song is a thank you from Pete because Patrick helped him when he was trying to commit suicide...;-;
i love how this song sort of ties up all their past songs and is sort of like an ode to how far they've come but still dont forget what got them started
On wattpad a friend of mine did a thing where you comment your name and they would give a song to match you and this was the song I got. It also got me thinking about why this song was made in the first place and I think it's amazing.
Calmdun Amia theres actually a while bunch of different singers at the end. when the different songs blend in, patrick doesnt sing any of them. he only sings what a catch donnie
I see the people sang at the end at a funeral for Pete or Patrick and they are crying whilst remembering, the reason they are singing the songs and most are crying softly and Brendon is sobbing, his voice full of emotion
That inclusion of old songs at the end just gets to me. This was the last song on their last album. This was a remembrance.This was their goodbye. This was the moment where i broke to tears over a song.
i never knew why i loved the part where someone sings dance dance, it just sounded so great. then i read that brendon urie sings it and i love it 100x more
Im signing this song at school for my friend that died to suicide. Imma sing my heart out im gunna cry hard but she was an amazing person so i want it to be a good song even if i imma do it
I like how everybody's singing their parts in the same key, and all quite, but Brendon's giving it all he's got

Yeah he's just very passionate!

Dead Account but it's just kinda funny how he sticks out in the different singers

It is super awesome that you put who sung which bits from which songs in the description, you are super amazing!!!
It tugs at my heart strings hearing these boys I used to obsess over sing the songs that are so dear to me. -sigh-
I'm drowning in tears..
It took me a minute to understand too, but now that I do, it's just so amazing.
april you literally copy and pasted that
I want this song and Thanks For The Memories to play at my funeral
it's 2018 and i'm still weeping over this song *sniffs*
for anyone wondering, the "i've got troubled thoughts and a self esteem to match" lyric it's from patrick's perspective, but pete wrote it. My favorite song of theirs.
At the end where there's snippets of other songs, everyone is singing so calmly and Brendon's just like: dANCE DANCE WE'RE FALLING APART

This is amazing! The way the voices come together and the story behind this song left me in tears!! Great job guys! also Brendon Urie whoa.
My only question is, who the hell is Donnie?
It's thought that "Donnie" is a reference to Donny Hathaway, a musician from the 1970's who committed suicide
I think it might be a reference to Donnie Darko. But IDK.
Laurel Hobert Donny hathaway who committed suicide. And this song is a thank you from Pete because Patrick helped him when he was trying to commit suicide...;-;
oh.I'll do some research on it. Thanks all of you for pointing me in the right direction.
