You are a true educator!!! I am a girl who is really not into hair at all!!! I've always had dreads, fades, and I've been doing the sponge for the past 2 years...for about a week now, I have decided that I want to go back to my fade, but it is hard to find a consistent/fly barber in my city...I also want to try color(s) (which I have never done in my life)...any suggestions would be great!!! Thank you for explaining the tools, it really helps...I don't know what my hair future holds, but one thing for sure---you'll be my teacher!!! I appreciate all of your knowledge!!! I have been a educator for 15 years and you are a true educator!!! Not everyone can explain what they do the way you do--with ease and class...you can tell you love what you do...I so want to be a client of yours!!! You are so fly!!!
Just started barber school at 40 years old wanted to try working for myself my Concerns are will I be able to jump in and sustain a living when I finish school or will it just be a side hustle
I'm starting the apprentice program and have been watching your videos daily since i found your channel about 3 months ago. I really enjoy your content, Thank you for the time you take to make informational videos to those out there beginning or thinking about the Barber Industry.
I just started a barber channel as well since I’ve only been cutting for 2 months I only have 24 subs but it’s something lol but you teach me something every time
Devaughn Yazzie Rick, one of the barbers in the shop, got me the container from the container store. The neck strip container can be gotten at places like barber depot, or salon centric.
Great video. I wish i would have seen your video before i went out and bought a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. Where did you get your scissors ✂️ & comb container? I want one. Thanks
Hey Kevin I've been lurking on your channel for a minute and have really been itching to try my hand on cutting hair to see if its something I might really enjoy doing. Where would a good place to start be in your opinion as far as what you would need to do the bare minimum just to start? All love you make great videos and i'm a big fan of your content.
Best way to start, if you're already licensed, is by walking into the shop and asking about their hiring process. But before you do any of that id go in there to just check out the vibe in a shop to see if YOU want to work there. Every job isn't the right one for you.
O Ryan that all depends on where you live, and your situation. Many go to school, others get into apprenticeship programs if their state allows it. Google search what state board requirements are necessary for your state.
The Barber's Table thank you for clarifying, i appreciate it! I just started following you. I’m listening to you on the Rum Barber podcast right now, lol. Thanks for the great content. I’m not a barber but I’ve been fading my own hair for 20 years and my 21 year old son’s his whole life. I’m looking to step up my cutting game lol. I recently picked up an Andis foil and started doing bald fades for the first time. Having more contrast from short to long/light to dark makes a huge difference.
Brodie, since you work in a shop, do you use soap and water to clean the combs and guards etc, dry them, then put it in the barbercide? Seems time consuming, or do you have like 10 pairs of everything and then at the end of the day you clean it all at once?
where did you get your shears from again? theres nothing on the kit page. i dont know if im being stupid but i searched motif and motiv shears on google and got nothing lol
TaperT I meant to put it in there, thanks for reminding me. Motiv pro shears. Looking at their website they seem to have discontinued them unfortunately...
The Barber's Table ahhh, that’s a shame, I’ve been looking for a new solid pair for a while. Mine are the cheap ones I started out with and they keep losing their tension. Thanks for the reply boss 👊🏿
To be a barber is $11,000 to start with most important fact. 2nd: learn how to manage money 3rd:Educate yourself on how to do taxes as a independent contractor 4th: Master cutting hair 5th: Manage prices for cuts for example comb over should cost more then a bald taper. 6th: Have communication skills 7th: Choosing your clients carefully once your skills are up. Most youtubers speak on the fun part. The parts people already know. People want to cut hair see the money see the success but as a barber man so much more goes in to cutting besides tools, skills and clients lol. Real talk As a barber these are important things to learn besides cutting hair. Cutting hair is a factor but learning the business aspect of the industry is key. Benefits aren't paid for you pay out of pocket. You can be a master barber with huge cliential but fail because you owe taxes, you have no benefits and you not making money gains charging a general price or median price for all cuts losing money
What's going on bro. Reading your comment I don't think these are the tools for you. Check out the tools in this video: ua-cam.com/video/qb11ZCUBZ-g/v-deo.html

Wow idol Iwish that I have like your tools

New to watching your videos but how can I start cutting hair in a shop?

What conditioner do you put in your water bottle?
Hells_Razor I’m honestly not sure, it’s some stock conditioner we use in the shop. Any conditioner will do really.
I was thinking about buying the cordless magic clip. I had a quick question. The blade it comes with is called a “crunch blade” is that a fade blade?
Matthew Hanks it is a fade blade. The crunch blade refers to the cutting blade though. While the fade blade refers to the top blade

Barber Fidel clean them at the end of the day. I put them in barbecued after each client
I hope you're doing alright bro 😞🙏🏽
