      Bro.. Love your channel. And your "voice over " voice.. You can fix the loose adjuster lever by adding more shims where it screws in.. Or a thicker shim where it screws in.

    When you said “what matters is Pleasing your clients “ 👏🙏 it’s true at the end of the day if your clients aren’t happy they’re not coming back and won’t be your clients but that’s not the clipper that does that it’s the barber and his personality as well that factors the biggest role, also the 1986 Kemei Pros honestly worked well for me I cut my cousins who are younger and some are toddlers and my nephew who’s 3 and the quietness of the clipper just is a dream it doesn’t agitate them and the biggest thing I saw is the Kemeis quietness is quite enough to cut some people with autism since the clipper noise on masters or seniors can sometimes trigger a panic attack or anxiety attack

    • @Lopezcutsandcolor
      @Lopezcutsandcolor 3 роки тому

      Also if you know someone with autism who the clipper sound is too much for them try the kemeis with concent of course and concent of the parent if they’re younger

  • @bobbystillz222
    @bobbystillz222 3 роки тому +13

    They are not knock offs! They have a brand name like Surker and Kemei. Kemei is actually an awesome company. It’s just cheaper because they have different laws about minimum wages so they can charge less. And to say that they are indentured servant’s is not true either because the standard of living there is much cheaper than in America. A knock off is if they put the Wahl logo on their clippers and tried to say they were Wahl. Like buying a fake Gucci belt in Chinatown. That’s a knock off. Innovating on someone else’s success is smart business and good for the consumer

    I bought these clippers back in April since they were one of the only available ones on Amazon at the beginning of the quarantine. Andis and Wahls (even their basic home kits) were sold out everywhere. I was pretty impressed by the Surkers though. My lever worked just fine, and the stock blade seem to cut okay right out the box even without zero-gapping them. I do notice that near the hour mark, or under 60-70%, they start to noticeably bog down. I think these are perfect for beginners, and fine for home/personal use, but wouldn’t recommend them for professional barbers.

    I threw a wahl blade on a pair of those just messing around to see how they’d work and it really is the lack of power that’s the problem. It was definitely better with the wahl fade blade, but at the end of the day they basically are a home haircut tool. My shop is crazy busy and they just don’t have the power I need to knock out haircuts in a timely manner. Nice video!! New sub here!! Between these Surker clippers and the Kemei clippers you reviewed not long before these, which of the two would you recommend based on your experience of their performance? I want to purchase an affordable, yet pretty good set of clippers so that I can maintain my half shave at home instead of spending money going to a barber for them to shape up literally only half of my head. Both clipper prices are very similar, so the main thing I want to heavily consider before making a final decision is the overall performance - which gets the job done the best and most efficiently. Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond! Really appreciate how informative your reviews and videos are of these kinds off-brand clippers - thanks for the content, man!! The lever on my Wahl 1919's is exactly the same where it has a small amount of travel before the blade actually adjusts. This happens from both fully open or fully closed, so at the exact middle point of travel between open and closed, the actual cutting length will be different depending on whether you started from open or closed. It's always been something that bugged me and when I have time I'm going to try and see if I can fix it somehow.

    I had the same problem with my Lever on my Surker! What I did was I took the lever off and put a washer under it then screw the leather on with the screw. They push the lever out a couple of millimeters to where it wouldn’t giggle. I know it works good. But it doesn’t have that much power like you said. The Kemei 1996 I think that’s the name, looks very similar and sleek to the Wahl 1919 and has a lot of power.

      eman2537 -me too I’ve been cutting my hair for 23 years. I’m 39 now. I consider myself to be pretty nasty. I cut my twin brothers hair, my brother-in-law‘s hair and friends sometimes. I can cut just as good as 360 Jeezy and all of them. Except what takes them a half an hour will probably take me an hour hour and 20 minutes. Same thing though no license. But I got a barber chair in my garage and once a month to try and pick up a blade or some kind of product. The problem is nobody pays me either so I don’t want to spend $200 on a pair of clippers when I can get a Kemei or Surker. Over the years I got all the corded clippers like the masters magic clip etc. But I don’t have any cordless clippers. The most expensive recent purchase what is the baby list gold FX trimmers. And that was one that I definitely didn’t regret. As of now that’s the best trimmer I’ve ever used. Any advice or any cheaper clippers Do you think I’m worth it let me know. Again good looks

    • @KevvThaw
      @KevvThaw  3 роки тому +1

      I typically don't have that issue. Here are a few skills I think I've developed over the years to help with that.
      1. Control the hair on the head but I control it after I've cut it. Notice how when I cut I toss the hair out of the way, I don't just cut and let it drop.
      2. Blow away the hair with a blow drier periodically.
      3. Wear a barber apron.
      4. Clean up in between clients.
      Hope that helps man!

    It comes down to competing market in the clipper and trimmer world. If a company charges me $40-$50 for a clipper and gets the job done just like the $150+ i’d much rather buy the more budget clipper end of story. Investing in expensive stuff just wastes you more money and it seems the cheaper clippers are more innovatived than the expensive ones by adding led screens and nicer looking clippers full metal and design

    Hey @thebarberstable have you. considered getting a wahl blade and modding it to the clipper? I'm certain the performance would improve. I'm waiting for some clippers from Aliexpress rn

      Yeah would be nice to see. I saw reviews where people said they changed the blade to magic clipper blade and that it worked really good. Also saw that Wahl Guards works on this clipper as well.
      Btw is it a good zero-gap? Read mixed reviews here.

      The Barber's Table those surkers has around 5300-5400 rpm, same as kemei 1986 pro
      The regular 1986 has exactly the same motor as the magic clip, and has around 5700-5800 rpm( magic clip has around 5900 and a sharper blade out of the box)

    Kemei just has some many different options. Might be the main reason I like them. I have the KM-1929 they have a better motor and 2 levels of power. Kemei is definitely a budget clippers brand.
