I can confidently say that the two coats applied to my GLI last October(mid) were going strong through February and into March. I lived in an apartment at time of application, and then we began the house buying and moving process. I knew it would be awhile before the next proper car spa weekend so I put a lot of confidence and trust in a product I had never used before. Actually, a manufacturer I had never used before. I applied inside my parking garage, both coats 24 hours apart. I suppose I should note the paint was deconed but due to poor lighting available, not polished. My car is still fairly slick despite the fallout and contaminants that have since clung to the paintwork, but hydrophobicity has degraded over the last few months. I can't report on Ultra Lock Plus+' gloss degradation as I use ONR(regular) for a QD and that certainly keeps the gloss up ok. But in my experience ONR doesn't aid in hydrophobicity, if anything it may degrade it overtime. That said the Jescar held up GREAT through an Ohio winter with, at minimum, five days of commuting on freeways. Great first impression. So great I switched to their polishing system. Jescar won me over. I highly recommend trying one of or multiple of their products if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed.
The Jescar polishes are one of my very favorite lines. I use ONR on any of the paint protectants, and I don't think it's degrading the finish. I actually find it extends the life of whatever I put on - with the exception of Zymol Carbon and Creame waxes. It didn't seem to play well with those. But Optimum Car Wax, Opti-Seal, Gloss Coat, Duragloss 101, 111, Meguiar's M21, Ultimate Liquid Wax, etc all seem to play well with ONR. Thats just my experience though. Your experience may be much different than mine.
I think this really goes to show spray sealants are best form of sealants in many categories. However I do feel sometimes that these liquid ones can be more enjoyable to work with.
Lets talk about EASE OF CLEANING. The goal of a good detailer is to clean with as minimal effort as possible to minimize potential damage. This is very important because Why spend all that time "sealing" your paint if your just gonna gonna end up leaving swirls in the paint because excessive force is need to remove contaminates during routine washes? TEST: Sprinkle some dust/dirt on the panel then give a few sprays with water in spraybottle. Let dry so it matts to the paint. Step1: Attempt to hose off to see which sealant releases the most contaminates. Step2: Hit her with a basic foam gun then hose off again to see the results, Step3: Give a wipe with wash mit. (You could do a additional test starting with the Mitt, then let dry and evaluate amount of swirls)
Interesting comparison, I'm still a big fan of Wolfgang deep gloss sealant. I know it's out dated but it's still great, especially the SIO2 infused version. I've pretty much stopped using any sealants and just do ceramic coating now. I figure by the time you do all the prep and polishing you may as well spend a few extra dollars and ceramic coat it. Thanks Sandro.
Not sure what he means by saying meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax has better hydrophobic properties than M-27. The hydrophobic properties displayed in this video were unbelievably amazing abd I did not get that level of beading or sheeting with hybrid ceramic liquid wax. Plus it didn't last very long. This one I believe is better in every single metric. Water behavior depth of color slickness and definitely durability. But im speaking from simple every day use and weekly neutral ph hand washes. Not chemical exposure. Either way fantastic video! Keep up the amazing work!👍🏼
Hey Sandro! Another great product review. With the lineup you had I believed that Jescar would do good. M27 stood strong though and impressed me somewhat. Chemical Guys performed as I expected. I always believed they where and are a over commercialized and overhyped smoke screen. 🤷🏽♂️ Cheers to you and the family mate.
It's almost obscene and frankly astounding that Jetseal is still on sale given its far from a new product, and others have newer technology and better performance. I really don't see where it would fit into a product range, but then this is CG, and if it sells a bottle, they keep selling it. For a company so hung up on its brand and branding its about time they overhauled the range and dragged it into the 2020s
Chemical Guys, the worst! I used it in my first application and never did it again! After exploring Meg products, my soul peace and for my car paint. I would like to test CanCoat to take a new step, but right now I am happy with Meg. Thanks, Sandro, greetings from Italy.
I was all over these before but after using Nova Jet, Boost and Lustre for maintenance i haven't touch any of the sealants, their far omre durable and easy to apply and wipe off = Saves me a lot of time
Hello Sandro from Adelaide 😁 Great work as you always have done and do.... Chemical Guys I have never had a good product from them yet so no surprize there..
I was a big fan of chemical guys products in the past but sadly their quality had reduced a lot and prices have doubled. I tested out Jetseal and even Extreme Top Coat sealant on my own car and found that both were extremely disappointing, 3 washes in a month and it's all done washed away by a simple car soap. Chemical guys are a big joke now with their multiple products stating the Ceramic in them. I do have to say though their car soaps are really good with good foaming action in a foam cannon. I'm Currently using Seal & Shine and looking to try out M27 in the near future. Big thanks for the review though since at times I wondered if I was doing anything wrong with jetseal not performing as stated.
Also that is strange that you got better water beading with the regular Meguiar's HCLW, as I have the opposite and found M27 to be way more hydrophobic.
@@speedshifter101 Honestly, I stopped using both M27 and the normal Hybrid Ceramic wax for one reason. They both disappear when you apply, so it was extremely difficult to remember where I applied them. I can't comment on durability as It was never long enough to really judge it and I ended up applying something else.
Thanks for the response I was thinking about trying it everyone raves about seal and shine being so durable but I've never had great luck with it. You have anything you prefer now?
@@speedshifter101 Yes absolutely, Jescar Ultralock Plus. It goes on and off super crazy easy, and it hazes like a wax so you know where you applied. If you want a spray product, Meguiar's actually just released Ultimate Ceramic Coating. They claim it's a "true" coating and is supposed to last as long as their previous Hybrid Paint Coating. Depends what you prefer.
Sandro, I love your instructional videos. As a suggestion to improve them further, may I ask that you refer to the products tested with one name. Specifically, either refer to the Chemical Guys Jet Seal as "Chemical Guys," as you have transcribed on the panel, or refer to it at "Jet Seal," as you do in your voice over. But mixing the voice-over with the written name on the panel becomes confusing. Again, just a minor critique, intended to help understanding.
What are misconceptions about sealers? When would I use a sealer and equally when would you not? And what should I expect it to do? I'm ok about about ceramic coatings and wax polishes, but confused about sealants.
The best way to think about a sealant is a synthetic wax, so you could use it instead of a natural wax or even as a foundation layer before topping it with a wax or in some cases as a top layer over other sealants or coatings. You wouldn’t tend to use it before a ceramic coating and some cases you wouldn’t use it over a coating unless it’s going to benefit it. The hard thing is that sealants themselves fall into many categories so you also can’t generalise too much.
I love chemical guys stuff for the interior. The exterior is way overpriced for what it is. A lot of stuff out there that's cheaper, and works a lot better
Absolutely agreed. VRP is really solid on trim and interior plastics/dashboards (though recently I've switched to Carpro PERL...VRP is still a very good and cheaper option tho), and their fabric cleaner is as good as anyone's. Beyond that though, everything I've used from them has been severely underwhelming, and there are always better options. Turtle Wax has been eating their lunch quite frankly in the affordable but good category, with the ICE and hybrid ceramic lines.
I'm not much of a CG fan, but I do think they are going for a different hydrophobic property. There is beading vs. sheeting. Although the other products bead water nicely, CG is sheeting. If you notice, it takes longer to sheet water off the panel, but overall it removes more water off the surface. The 2 others bead water, but more beads remain on the surface which may cause water spotting. On the other hand, sheeting works best when the surface is flooded with water, not so much when sprayed more lightly. Just saying, the car detail world is a trip.😁
Lets talk about WATER SPOTS. Many people do not dry their vehicles after wash, and/or frequently encounter pollen/dust + light rain that leaves pesky Water Spots. Three comment/questions: 1. Would JETSEAL be better in these situations since it sheds off more completely leaving behind far less beads? 2. An additional test could include wetting the panel then going over it a couple times with leaf blower as that is how many people dry their vehicles. This way you could evaluate which product leaves behind the least water spots. 3. Another test is to intentionally let unfiltered tap water DRY on the panel leaving behind spots. Then an hour later give the panel a spray with quick detailer and wipe to see if the dried spots are easier to remove from one sealant to another. If a sealants "superior beading" ends up with those dried beads etched into the product and difficult to remove then maybe its not so good after all.
Those points and your other ones in your other comment are great things to show and I could add a dozen more to your lists 🙂. But there’s also other considerations and nuances to making these videos that you may not fully appreciate until you enter that space. These videos already take the best part of a week to research, plan, film, test and edit and would take far more time if I added more testing and the videos would grow to be far longer and perhaps too long for the average viewer. I have many longer formate detailing vlogs that explore detailing products and techniques as well, and I also run a detailing business, am involved in product development, teach detailing training classes and more. I love what I do but there’s many factors that dictate what I do and time is unfortunately limited.
This is a difficult one for me as Jescar isn't sold in the UK. Looking on Amazon, it's enormously expensive at around £90. That just isn't feasible when you can buy a good quality true ceramic here for about £50.
I bought a bottle of Jet Seal back in 2008 and I was very disappoinment with the behevior of this product, the same results you found in this test, in less than a month there was no indication that the product was still on the paint in Mexico City climate and altitude, I can´t belive CG still sells this product what a rip off.
I usually clay bar then use 3D One compound on my cars in spring and fall (i live in Alaska so the winter really does a number on the exteriors here). In the past I just used normal waxes after the polishing, but never looked into sealants. What would you recommend if you just had to pick one type of product?
I only ever bought one Chemical Guys product. That was Hydro Slick. Holy ####. What a waste of money. I vow never to buy any of their products ever again. If a company puts out such a bad product and charges above premium price, that is borderline criminal.
Chemical Guys was the most expensive product here....hey, that skull logo isn't free😋 This company is all marketing and I'm surprised they even made the cut here🤔
this is a great video, but meguiars m27 is a hybrid ceramic sealant, which is why it beads off better when water is applied. where as jet seal is just a sealant with no ceramic properties. misinformation on the products you tested, you need to be testing chemicals guys hydro charge plus ceramic spray, combine with hydro slick ceramic paste, then hydro view for maintenance, then apply a wax. chemical guys has good products, just depends on layers of protection and maintenance. usually a glaze, sealant and wax in that order. for ceramic protection, the steps are what I mentioned earlier, overall depends on preference and your wallet.
Why buy two, three or even four products, when you only need one? Well it must be good for the sales department at Chemical Guys, but a complete waste for everyone else. Jescar Ultralock+ is also just a paint sealant, yet it outperforms the Jetseal by miles. Jetseal is simply a crappy, overpriced (acrylic?) sealant and I’m amazed that Chemical Guys to this day still market it as their best and longest lasting sealant, yes 12 months they say. My tests have given the same outcome as this one. I now only use Jetseal in my bathroom to make it slightly easier to clean. 😅
The new technology has passed jetseal by... Sadly, jetseal was never any good...even a decade ago. Amazing that this junk is $40 at Walmart still. Much better stuff out there for a fraction of the cost...even at Walmart.
Chemical Guys is the perfect example of how great marketing can be used to make a company with mediocre products sell like hotcakes at massive margins (since the product is likely cheap). The few of us who are critical thinkers see right through the hype of marketing, whether it's about detailing or not, but the masses eat it all up. That's the whole reason why ceramic coatings are marketed to make your car bulletproof and you're never gonna have to wash it again, cuz it WORKS even though it seems obvious they're stretching the truth at best. With that said, sure, I know there are a FEW good products from chemical guys, but that's the exception, not the rule and they're still and always have been overpriced. I liked their hexlogic pads and the stripper scent car freshener spray. The detailing industry overall is jampacked with smoke & mirrors, specially when it comes to protection products. "This product makes your car SHINY and gives it that just detailed look". Nah, what truly makes the car shiny is polishing off the defects. Sure you might get some temporary enhancement on a hazy/swirled car, but that's gonna be gone in a few washes. On a panel with no defects, you can put whatever coating, wax or sealant and in a blind test, I'm almost certain even a trained eye wouldn't be able to tell which has what. This is assuming all the products applied didn't leave any streaks, holograms, smearing, etc. any film some heavy products leave behind often or just overapplying something leaves behind. I know ya'll will disagree with me which is why I'd LOVE to see a proper blind test done, including a panel that's just bare paint polished to perfection. The test could be something like identical hoods all polished to perfection and one of them has CQUK3.0, another has P21S Carnauba Wax (for that "warm" look!), and the other could have say Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax for that "plastic" look. They could be identical cars instead of hoods, since that would be a better thing to judge. They'd all have to be positioned equally and have identical lighting conditions at the same angles etc. Maybe someone who had say 4 Identical booths. The cars could be moved around to account for light variations in each booth etc. and the person trying to say which is which would not be able to see the process of course, and then they'd have to repeat the judging of saying which they think has what. Nobody's ever gonna do this haha.
Would you be willing to test Meguiars to Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray? I saw another test that showed Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray was the bomb in comparison. Would like to know what you think. ❤
Yes, I wouldn’t get too caught up in the whole ceramic or wax descriptions. They are all paint sealants and will all work fine on various paints/clear coats.
Chemical guy, after every "test" had less water left on it. It didn't bead up like the other but had less water then any of the other 2 on each side of it.
There’s no reason you can just use it on its own, but if you have a wax you really like you can also top it over M27 a few hours later, or another option is using Meguiars Hybrid ceramic detailer to main it after maintenance washes.
I'm currently using m27 but wanna try carpro hydro2 diluted 6 to 1 due to ease of use but in your opinion/experience which one will last longer on a daily driver?
Hydro2 as with many better spray and rinse sealants is quite easy to use, chemical resistant and has good durability, but it’s not the slickest due to the application method but it could last similar to M27, maybe even longer.
Jetseal up to 12months, in your dreams 6 months lol 3 months if kept indoors , fully prepped jetseal looked great but 3/4 weeks first wash and it was dead and they still priced at £32 so no longer believe in their products
Chemical Guy's sealant didn't bead water at all. It all just pooled up in sheets and there was no repelant capacity ! ! ! It looks like you have a bias against the Ultralock+
Chemical guys offer several products that are pretty much the same thing, they are king when it comes to publicity and presentation but most of their their stuff is not that great. The only products I continue to purchase are their empty bottles and V07.
@@WhiteBeardDetail before a coating? Polish it. Polish it as best as you can to make it shine. Nothing should be applied before a ceramic coating. It needs to be bond to clean, bare paint.

I’m sure there’s a few decent CG products out there but I also think creating or providing the best detailing products isn’t the brands focus as apposed to marketing and sales strategies which the brand has done extremely well with.
Well I’m a bit surprised at the chemical guys sealant as it’s just deflated me entirely… I’ve used chemical guys stuff for a few years now and never thought about it…it seemed to be okay from my experiences, but this has definitely showed me otherwise…I used their wax as a topper over the jet seal …. Step2: Hit her with a basic foam gun then hose off again to see the results,
Step3: Give a wipe with wash mit.
It seems like chemical guys is more of a marketing company than a detail car care company.
I had someone who gave me a bottle of jet seal mind you he won paint job of the year at the hawaii car expo. Haven’t tried it yet tho.
Keep up the amazing work!👍🏼
Jescar makes a really wonderful product in near every category.
Thanks for doing this review, Sandro. I just had a 4 oz bottle of Jet Seal given to me. I think I'll reserve it for exterior glass.
Chemical Guys, the worst! I used it in my first application and never did it again! After exploring Meg products, my soul peace and for my car paint. I would like to test CanCoat to take a new step, but right now I am happy with Meg. Thanks, Sandro, greetings from Italy.
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you. Incredible content quality. SUBBED!
Awesome video I subbed and liked I’m going to use both mcgueirs wax with a ryobi polisher and the m27 👌😄 I can’t wait to see the results!
Great video 👍. Keep up the outstanding work 👏
I was all over these before but after using Nova Jet, Boost and Lustre for maintenance i haven't touch any of the sealants, their far omre durable and easy to apply and wipe off = Saves me a lot of time
You are a master of detailing 👍👍👍
In my experience, nothing beats Soft99 Fusso Coat in terms of long term durability when it comes to sealants.
Just wanted to ask you advice , it has black and white colour , which one I need to use for blue car? Thanks in advance
@@olegstofranko1309
Go for fusso dark/black version for blue color
My pleasure mate and thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Also that is strange that you got better water beading with the regular Meguiar's HCLW, as I have the opposite and found M27 to be way more hydrophobic.
How did you like working with m27 and the durability?
Yes I think it can get confusing and great suggestion
Interesting video mate keep up the great work !
Jet Seal appears to be trash from these tests.Spend your money wisely folks and just go with an actual ceramic coating.
@@adamcoeTry 3d product's and you will never go back to anything else.
For that cost one could step up to NV EVO and be done with it! 😁
Lets talk about WATER SPOTS. Many people do not dry their vehicles after wash, and/or frequently encounter pollen/dust + light rain that leaves pesky Water Spots. Three comment/questions:
It's just me or Jescar on black panel seems to be a lot of darker than the others?
I am really at loss, i just want one with best UV protection and durable (on car wash), which product is the best for me? Help..
There is no product interior or exterior that has true UV protection, thats what your clearcoat does, the protection protects the clearcoat.
Chemical guys puts 90% of their budget on marketing. Learned that the hard way.
This is a difficult one for me as Jescar isn't sold in the UK.
Looking on Amazon, it's enormously expensive at around £90.
That just isn't feasible when you can buy a good quality true ceramic here for about £50.
Its menzerna in uk and europe
@Audrius Palaima I know but they haven't released this product. Why, I don't know. Perhaps its just a timing thing.
Think Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax is a great widely available sealant that performs quite well.
Would love to see best sheeting products video, sheeting product with the best chem resistance 👍🏻
Same here
Another great video mate 👍how would you rate the maguires against their own NXT sealant?
I think NXT will still look and feel quite great but I would imagine M27 will be more hydrophobic and durable.
Great job, awesome review
I can`t find Jescar Ultra Lock+ anywhere!

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Unavailable, too. Seems like anything that works is discontinued quickly.
I only ever bought one Chemical Guys product. That was Hydro Slick. Holy ####. What a waste of money. I vow never to buy any of their products ever again. If a company puts out such a bad product and charges above premium price, that is borderline criminal.
should i use sealant on my finest reserve ceramic coats? will it be effective? help
Chemical Guys was the most expensive product here....hey, that skull logo isn't free😋 This company is all marketing and I'm surprised they even made the cut here🤔
Some products are good but not all of it,like you say
@@interceptor7905 I like CG's scents though🤔👍
this is a great video, but meguiars m27 is a hybrid ceramic sealant, which is why it beads off better when water is applied. where as jet seal is just a sealant with no ceramic properties. misinformation on the products you tested, you need to be testing chemicals guys hydro charge plus ceramic spray, combine with hydro slick ceramic paste, then hydro view for maintenance, then apply a wax. chemical guys has good products, just depends on layers of protection and maintenance. usually a glaze, sealant and wax in that order. for ceramic protection, the steps are what I mentioned earlier, overall depends on preference and your wallet.
Thank you!
Maybe butter wet wax and cherry wax from chemical guys could be an idea
Hey sandro which is your favorite paint sealant?
I think Nova Jet is up there for me.
Is Chemical guys now worse in quality than Trutle Wax? I'm starting to think so.
Compared to what Turtle wax has released in the last few years, definitely.
How do you compare UL and M27 to Meguiars Synthetic Sealant (M21)?
M21 is still a great old school sealant but I’d expect these newer sealants to be more durable and hydrophobic and maybe even look a touch better
I use Jescar Ultra Lock + on my boat and actually get around a year out of it.
Would you be willing to test Meguiars to Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray? I saw another test that showed Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray was the bomb in comparison. Would like to know what you think. ❤
Have you tested out mother’s CMX?? Ceramic coat
ua-cam.com/video/G6lidckgTpg/v-deo.html
Can we use them on any clear coat condition, just like liquid wax?
Is it the same as ceramic waxes?
Yes, I wouldn’t get too caught up in the whole ceramic or wax descriptions. They are all paint sealants and will all work fine on various paints/clear coats.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you.
will it cover swirls permanently?
No
Chemical guy, after every "test" had less water left on it. It didn't bead up like the other but had less water then any of the other 2 on each side of it.
What’s the best way to use m27 with wax ?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing how would it compare vs meguiars hybrid ceramic spray wax in durability both apply when drying the car 😕
Hydro2 works better than Meguiars HCW as a spray and rinse, by Hydro2 is really a spray and wipe drying aid.
I was hoping power lock Ultra would win.
No comparison here jescar by far most superior product, then finish with collinite
Can you add ceramic coating after doing this?
No. Ceramic coating is best on bare paint.
@@WildDanHibiki thank you, what's something that you can use to make your paint shine more under a coating?
@@WhiteBeardDetail before a coating? Polish it. Polish it as best as you can to make it shine. Nothing should be applied before a ceramic coating. It needs to be bond to clean, bare paint.
@@AMP8424 can I go meguairs compound - meguairs polish - ceramic wax?
@@dragonmeteor1057 yes. If I wanted to use any of these I'd use these as a topper for a ceramic coating. So polish, ceramic coating, wax/SI02 spray and buff. In it's basic format thats what I do. May not be technically correct but works great for me.
I’m located in Melb would you like to do a vid of my car being detailed? I have a i30 sedan cn7 n line 2021

Based on my testing I would expect M27 to be far more hydrophobic and durable than M21
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks. I thought I remembered seeing a test that showed minimal difference, but I could be mistaken.

Another CG product that sucks. What a surprise......
Our Shield Paint Sealant will be all the products in this test. 👍
my M27 TURN in to water is still good
Jescar + Collinite is the bees knees!
Iam from germany and i have a question. What is the sense of the brand CG ? There is absolut NO product that is useful...... Never seen shit like CG before.
I’m sure there’s a few decent CG products out there but I also think creating or providing the best detailing products isn’t the brands focus as apposed to marketing and sales strategies which the brand has done extremely well with.
Chemical guys should be embarrassed lol

jescar ftw
Well I’m a bit surprised at the chemical guys sealant as it’s just deflated me entirely…
I’ve used chemical guys stuff for a few years now and never thought about it…it seemed to be okay from my experiences, but this has definitely showed me otherwise…I used their wax as a topper over the jet seal …. But this video wasn’t about that….
I’m looking at nova evo as my coating now so I won’t be using jet seal anytime soon anyway….
Detailing is a journey for many of us with lots of learning, trial and error and experimentation which leads us to different places in discovering what we like or dislike and what works well in our own unique world. I’ve had people swear by certain products that I personally found disappointing and I’m sure some people could say the same about products that I liked and they hated 🙂
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing absolutely…. However I think the tests that you subject these products to are fair and reasonable, and your narrative isn’t about dissing any brand names but it’s there to provide results that you’ve personally found to be the case.
It definitely makes one think about their choices…
You’ve great videos Sandro, keep it up…
These products are obsolete. You get way more protection and ease of use with just a graphene detail spray. But for those who enjoy wax application Powerlock is the way to go.
Jet seal is trash I love CG but they do release a lot of products that in theory do the same stuff and other products in their line but the odd products they make are strong others don’t perform well
