Hi, all! Charles Frank here, the director of "Lost In My Mind." I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 9 years old and went through the same treatment - Exposure and Response Prevention - depicted in this film. I'm so grateful to Manny and the Padilla family for sharing their experiences with OCD. I am around to answer any questions you might have!

This kid reminds me of Chuck McGill in Better Call Saul, who is also terrified of electricity. My dad had severe intrusive thoughts for decades, and somehow he had a breakthrough that stopped the thoughts totally, all at once. It was an obsession with God's judgement of him, thoughts that had been tormenting him for all those years, and he was somehow able to make peace in his own mind.

So happy to see a more accurate depiction of ERP, and a portrayal that shows how OCD can essentially be about anything, not just about ordering or contamination.

Hello- thank you for this wonderful film, it really is terrific. And thank you to Manny and his family for making this happen and sharing his/their story.
I was wondering if you could share where you were able to find the Exposure Response Prevention therapy that worked for you.
    Thank you!

Hi Elena. Thank you so much for your kind words. OCD is like a weed that weaves and latches on to anything it possibly can. We were finally able to find exposure therapy at Bradley Children’s Hospital here in Rhode Island. I cannot say enough about how amazing and caring they are. Unfortunately Manny has aged out, and OCD comes and goes, so we are trying to figure out next steps. I hope you are able to find a path if you are seeking one. ❤
