There is suffering in a run like this, but he runs for those who "don't have the chance to do what I do". Thanks for the reminder that we do hard things to show our gratitude for the life we get to live.
This guy is impressive! I cried so much watching this. I can relate to his story, I was depressed at 16 and I almost take my own life. This guy shared his story in a raw and open way, he's incredibly strong not only physically but also mentally. It takes so much courage and vulnerability to share something like that. We need stories like these to be shared, we need more men and young men to open up, share their stories and be vulnerable. We need to raise more awareness about depression, suicide, and addiction. I started running last year and that helped me grow mentally and reduced my anxiety. Running is beautiful and powerful, this guy is powerful. I'm so happy he made it!
The pain, sadness, anger of what others have done to you can be honed to push you to do things you never would have done…and it’s exactly that, you did it.
you are such an inspiration. i am going through my own journey right now dealing with anxiety and depression. i started running over a month ago and still going.
Its very interesting how can running be a therapy. How physical pain and struggle of a long run can erase the mental pain within. One simple pain to remove the other complex. Magic before our eyes.
Let'ssss goooooo!!! You're a legend! So inspiring and epic to see a peer with lived and living experience of mental health challenges battle through like that 🙌
Go Darius, what an awesome dude. But the film is too short! I would love to hear more about Darius story and hope this beautiful film could be expanded to an hour or more.
congratulations Darius. Thank you for your message and how running can be the most amazing tool for our mental health. Incredible story and inspiration ( you). Thank you.
While his body is in shambles and his mind is yelling at him to just rest, he got up and "Just one second... I'm looking for a young man, anybody, a young man."
The irony is he's abusing his body under the guise of positivity, obsessively focusing on running like an addict. He feels he deserves the pain. He's only twenty and still doesn't understand none of it's his fault. He'll keep chasing that runner's high.
Oh dang. That last line made me tear up. "This person that's standing right here, I invented this person." So true and profound.
“The person that is standing right here, I invented this person.”
Literal chills. I’m going to remember that quote for a long time.

A short film about a First Nations young man overcoming fetal alcohol syndrome ought not to be sponsored by a whiskey brand.
I missed the whiskey brand? Where was the mention of it within the film?
Homie just made it up lol
not to be glib, but why not western states as well dariius?
when they say “your brain is not wired right” and wanna right it with new wiring..

The bigger the suffering the bigger the peace, this man knows strength.
