I met Don Rickles once. He called me a baked potato and said I didnt even have butter. It was among the finest moments of my life.
@@NoOne-kr4jc it means he’s fat
You lucky son of a bitch
You lucky lucky sob
Yeah that never happened
@@pdkeast how could you possibly know that
wow. Don has lived in 3 different eras of Tonight Show host. God bless him
I think they've had 5 hosts during his run.
Worldwide Wyatt 5? Really? Wow
Parr, Allen, Carson, Leno, O'Brien and Fallon...that makes 6.
Jo Gølphin oh snap, I didn't realize that.
Tonight Show died when Carson left.. been garbage every since... minus the time Conan made it watchable
He can still roast anybody like no other. He will destroy you and your pride and you will still laugh about it all the way to the end. 89 yo folks... That's one hell of a career.
Super TigerClaw That is sooo right. He can recover anything he says, and anything anybody says around him. 70 years of experience behind all this.
Sadly not anymore. RIP.
It would be a privilege. That silly drummer didn't realize it.
Pinder Tiwana haha "silly drummer" what an asshole
he roasted Mr T in the 70s you should watch it it's hilarious
I love it when Don gives this heartfelt complement to someone and then goes, "From the bottom of my heart, I never liked you." 😂😂😂
Don's facial expressions are EVERYTHING.
Thats how you knew he really meant it, I was like oh shit, dont laugh Jimmy! I love Don as I almost love your profile picture.
@@puertoricanboy100 😂
puertoricanboy100 simp
"I never liked you"
Think he meant that one
I mean it. Rickles probably did too.
He didn't.
Don was tolerating this young, PC pup.
"I knew Johnny Carson...and you are no Johnny Carson."
He obviously didn't mean it
I feel ashamed for not knowing about Don Rickles until now and I'm 28. I just found a video of him while listening to the great Frank Sinatra and had to see who he was and I'm so glad I did. Better late than never though right?
Yes :)
i was 24... i couldn't stop watching his videos
Yes, he was my favorite comedian when I was a kid, and he's still my favorite. I'm 58 years old, so he's been
funny a long time.
I was in my early 20's, and I'm 28 now. It's never too late. Have fun watching his stuff. :)
exactly
It would be awesome to hear Rickles speak at a graduation.
All the students would kill themselves
You can't, he's dead
What a treat that would have been. I could almost hear him say, "I'm the biggest star here..." RIP Don Rickles... a true comic legend.
Watch his speech at Martin Scorsese’s Life achievement award ceremony. It’s the closest thing to that.
They would all be offended and seek safe spaces and new coping skills.
Claasic Don!!! Builds up praise and at the end, ''I never liked you" or "Youre a lousy actor'' or ''Its over''. HAHAHAHAHA
Robert De Niro to Rickles at the 2014 roast of Rickles: "Rest in peace, old friend."
So that's where Jiminy Glick got it from
or the classic...."I'm fed up with you."
"And that finger... that's a great bit". 😂😂😂😂😂👌👌. Mr. Rickles is the Man!!
Don is a legend, a comedic icon who is truly one of the funniest individuals to have ever existed
@Explodingtraps Ross couldn't lick Rickles' cookie! Puhlease. Indeed.
“I spoke to the barber convention and they need you badly” 😂😂😂
Rickles at that age could still run circles around a guy like Fallon
Fallon didn't know what the hell to do here.
@@jshepard152 He did what most smart hosts did with Don, he let him do his thing.
Rickles ran circles around Carson, Leno & Letterman so Jimmy is in good company.
Well, if he can slap Robin Williams in the face on stage then fallon doesn't stand a chance! I wonder how long clips of both legends (I don't mean fallon) will be up on UA-cam before its deemed not politically correct.
@@XyZed1000 I've never seen that clip! Now I have to look it up.
I really miss him. Never never will we ever meet a comic like him. One of a kind.
Rickles to Fallon: "You don't have to jump in. I'm on this show: there's nothing that says you jump in."
Don Rickles, comedy legend. God bless you sir for saying those things we always wished to say, but didn't have the guts to do so.
"That finger, thats a great bit" "Tommorow come out with your neck wrapped"
I had the pleasure of meeting Don a couple years ago. We talked briefly and he heckled be at first. It was a great honor to be picked on by one of the greats. As we talked I realized that he was such a very kind, sweet and gentle man and was so full of life. RIP.
"by the way your finger is a great bit"
"your not going to last long"
ahahahahahahah!!!
Jimmy cried backstage after the show, probably still crying right now
@Ryan Johnson I think don rickles really doesnt like him. Jimmy fallon always does his fake laugh, and don rickles had to slip his real feelings so its interpreted as a joke.
Yes
The guy was more quick witted than most people, even when he was 90. What a mind.
This is the most genuine interview jimmy has had with a guest.
The end of a magical Era. We are ever so proud and grateful to have walked in the same earth and breathed the same air as a Light, and a Legend, such as the great Don Rickles. One of my biggest heroes of comedy and style. Thanks Don, for all the songs, and all the laughs. Im sure you're finally back with the boys up there, chuckling it up with Frank, Dino, Sammy, Johnny Carson, and all the other Titans that graced our television sets and theatres during a time when class was king, and grace was queen. You are eternal Don Rickles, and your light and your spirit will forever shine up the comedy skies in an endless supernova of warmth, joy, and perpetual laughter- the likes of which will never be seen again, but will be remembered for the rest of timeless time itself. May you live forever under the spectacularly bright light of The Ages Don, among all the other golden gods and miracles that you were so very much a part of even during your time here. You are platinum Don Rickles. You are pure Platinum, and you will always shine. On and on, Forever and ever.

Don Rickles is roasting all over the place.
Why is jimmy talking back to him. U just take the legends insults and move on lol
"That's a great bit by the way!" That slays me every time. Classic Rickles.
Don: "You got a good crowd here."
Jimmy: "I have a great crowd."
Don: "12 people."
Jimmy: "Ha ha ha! There are more than 12 people."
Ugh...
I was slow to appreciate Rickles' brand of humor, but now that he's one of the last of his era's funny men, it's easy to see why he's regarded as a comedy legend. His brash, who-gives-a-fuck skewering of today's so-called "celebrities" is a delight.
Don Rickles is by far my favorite comedian ever!! There is no the one like him. We miss you
please post the full interview
Manny Rivera Full interview and full ep is up on our website for ya: www.tonightshow.com
***** I actually thought Don was kind of mean, which is his schtick. But, I think Jimmy was done with him, and he ended the interview early. I didn't think it was a funny conversation at all. Was that your impression?
Harriet Kaufman We love Don! Comedy legend and a really sweet guy. twitter.com/jimmyfallon/status/628785255277797376
Harriet Kaufman I didn't find him very funny either. Never have.
***** Heyy but what happen to those we are from abroad?
UA-cam this guy.. He's relentless I miss this type of comedy
"It won't last long, but it is a hit." LmAo!!! His face expression was too damn funny.
Watching in 2020. God bless him. I’m 21 and really appreciate his comedy. Watched a lot of older clips. He’s one of my favorites.
ajaj So nice to see a millennial appreciate Don Rickles. I am almost 50 myself. How did u protect ur self against the pc culture that u were kind of taught growing up? I am curious
Who would've thought he would pass in 2017 two years after this video...RIP
This is 2021, mr Ironman
I love that comment at the end.
"No, no, you're a hit."
"Oh, thank you."
"You won't last long."
"Oh there it goes."
Why isn't Don Rickles on ''The Tonight Show'' more often. He is a guaranteed laugh machine. An enormous talent!
Because Johnny Carson is dead
Don was loyal to Letterman!!!!!

Don Rickles is soo adorable in this interview
One of the very few living legends of showbusiness, this man still is one of the funniest guys on the planet.
:'(
This man is the Goat
Can you imagine having Don Rickles as a Grandfather?
"These grades you brought me look good, real good"
"Thanks Granddad!"
"But your sister has all A's and won't be asking you for money"
He was right about Jimmy being the energy, instead of having a crazy guy do the warmup...Words of wisdom haha
Definitely. Advice u can’t buy from a legend
I absolutely love Don Rickles, the man is still sharp as a tac and can really deliver. It's just nice to see him compliment Jimmy in so many ways, and for Don to want to come on the show and show Jimmy that kind of respect makes me feel really great for what you guys are doing with The Tonight Show. I know that Mr. Johnny Carson would be proud of what you're doing with the show.
Bruce McFadden I hope your kidding.
Don Rickles basically kills in the first 30 seconds. I love how Quest cracks on "good luck to you". If you think about it this phrase: it is the sweetest humiliation and the compliment at the same time :))
I spit coffee all over my phone I was laughing so hard at the neck wrapped bit... Unexpected none stop humor from this guy. Legend.
Fallon's show didn't deserve Rickles.
I agree
Well said
Nobody deserves rickles
And who are you to say what deserves what?
There’s a reason this is the only time he ever went on
Mr potato head! I thought I recognized that voice! Man he's so funny!
"you won't last long but it is a hit"... hilarious!
Gotta love Don, one of the funniest guys I've ever heard, especially when he roasts other comedians and actors :D
He was dead ass serious
Hollywood Hawkins rip Don Rickles
Hollywood Hawkins rest assured, Don was one of those guys where if he didn’t say anything to you, you were in trouble. He roasts the ones he loves. Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra were testaments to this. Don massacred them regularly.
@@HeyMyLifeIsLibby Glad to see that somebody gets it!
there's a special on Netflix at the moment about Don! Definitely worth a watch! he's a legend, a pioneer etc etc
“And the guy comes out with a nervous breakdown!”
LOL Poor Quest. I love his hair! Jimmy takes the jokes at his expense well too, Don Rickles is like everyone's funny grumpy grandpa, he can get away with saying whatever he wants and the youngsters just nod their heads politely out of respect all the way hoping they get to live as long and have a long career like Don has had.

2:22 when someone sees right through you.
God, he hasn't dimmed with time at all. Brilliant man, not afraid to make people uncomfortable. :)
Rest In Peace Don. Gone but never forgotten !
Heroes are remembered but Legends never lie.
I can't remember one time when Don was really trying to give someone some sage advice. Hope Fallon listened.
He was but hurt and traumatized till this day and never speaks about that embarrassing night, he wasn't roasting Fallen he was telling him the truth and he knew it.

@@NoOne-kr4jc I wasn't trying to make you this emotional, hopefully you can learn to control your anger and not take it out on UA-cam comments.

Don said it best:"I never liked you."I think this time he meant it.
Such a devastating loss for comedy and the world as a whole. I really wish I could have seen this man live; I would have been honored if I found myself on the receiving end of some insults from him! Rest in peace, Mr. warmth! I bet you're giving everyone up there quite a laugh!
I spoke to the Barber Convention and they need you badly😂😂😂😂😂
Jimmy is a great fake laugher. What talent.
What fake talent. What phenomenal raaaannnge......
Can't believe I didn't know about his work until I read in the news and searched him after he passed. I can't stop watching his stuff on UA-cam now, what an amazing person and comic. I literally laughed so hard that I had tears after watching the Ronald Reagan roast!! R.I.P Don :(
You know I really enjoyed seeing this veteran doing it once again. These young cats nowadays can't come close.
Legend in his own time. Still sharp as a knife.
How he does it i have no idea, rickles is a legend!
I actually teared up seeing Don Reckles like this! One of the greats I tell ya
i love don so much its a shame to see him frail like this but still he is the best! at 89 and still rocking the one liners!
Never thought I would like a Jimmy Fallon video...
Don Rickles is #1, best all-time. Robin Williams was a close second, RIP. Don cut everybody down to size, and still makes all of us laugh. Thank God the PC police did not run the country when he was in his prime. Rodney, Don, Richard, Lenny, George, etc....old school comics, could do anything and say anything and people did not get offended.
+MrCalidan69 "What ya staring at ya bald-headed jew prick?"
Yes. Don Rickles was the funniest comedian of all time because of the stuff that came off the top of his bald Jew head.
Don lived thru multiple generations of night shows and never skipped a beat God bless
Don: "Got quite a crowd here. Big audience.12 people." 😄😄😄
Jimmy: "We've got more than 12 people."
I was on the show in 1978 when Don Rickles was a guest Host as Johnny was on vacation. I was there wearing my Dutch wooden shoes, Don is funny man.
Rest in peace Don... king of comedy in my opinion
Only One word for Don Rickles - LEGEND!!!!
RIP Don Rickles, what an amazing comedian!
I had no idea that don was still alive! He's still kickin'
"I never liked you" so good.. #RIP
Rest in Peace, Don Rickles (May 8, 1926-April 6, 2017).
I'm laughing so hard I'm in tears, lol. he's still funny
this dude has me in tears and ive seen the videos a thousand times
I hope, if he's still around by 2017 (Let's Hope) Don Rickles returns as Mr. Potata Head (You should get what I mean) in toy story 4. Toy Story was a Huge part of my childhood (Its the first movie I ever saw) and it wouldn't be the same without him. I also grew up watching the Dean Martin roasts he was a part of. Also, you can just see the pain he's in, it makes me so sad that he's at the age where he could pass very soon and I feel like if he goes, I've lost a part of my childhood
:(
I know
This is the first video I ever saw of Don Rickles. What a class act. The funniest person out there and I can cry from laughing any time I watch him. The greatest American treasure we will ever have. There is a special place set aside in heaven for you
Rest in peace, Mr. Warmth.
2:37 Don: "No, it is a hit. God bless you. It won't last long, but it is a hit."

Rickles learning these youngsters a few lessons.
One of the greatest classic moves of don when he praises the host and makes him feel warmth and happiness and suddenly he says he never liked him hhhhhhh
don rickles is god

Omg they were saying spirit animal since 3 years ago, I thought it was something new

You Made Me Laugh DON RICKLES!.....Thank You and Rest In Peace.
waaooow!! ..... he shreds jimmy without any mercy & jimmy's fake laugh becomes all too cringy. Man! What a Legend!
Rickles is a legend. Where's the entire appearance?! We love you Mr Warmth! #RIP
Don Rickles is 89. Bill Cosby is 78. When Bill comes on Fallon, he does his whole senile bit and just talks complete gibberish the entire time he's on the show. It's funny, but awkward funny and in the end you're kind of left saying to yourself "what the hell just happened?". Don Rickles whose a decade older still does real comedy bits and it's hilarious. The comedic timing at the end was perfect.
I miss Don so much 😢
Man - we lost a great one today. RIP Don Rickles
