The song played by Brandon was Lágrima (tear) from the great classical guitar master Francisco Tárrega!
Arnaldo M.B.
THAT'S CORRECT SIR
Yep. At first I thought "okay, that's kind of basic but whatever" but then he did some magical shit to it towards the end!
My first 'serious' guitar was an Ovation purchased new back in 1973. Still have it & it sounds fabulous!
This is why we love Lemmo - covers so many styles effortlessly. Bravo Michael!
Kaman Company was also involved in the creation of the Apollo lunar lander. Fun fact!
5:01 I was like "Lookin out for looooooooooouuuuooouuuuuve" "In a night so sttttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiiihiiihiiiiillllll" Lindsey Buckinghams Version of Big Love on "The Dance" concert tour is epic and lgendary!
You did it Lemmo sent me to heaven with the Beatles . I actually bought an Ovation when it first came out only reason I traded it for a Yairi was because it kept sliding off my leg.
As soon as he started playing Stairway, I thought to myself 'I wonder if he'll add the little slide up in the intro like Jimmy does in the Song Remains The Same MSG show?'. He did. Classy.
My favorite version of stairway. I dont play it any other way (in the privacy of my home, not in guitar shops)
@@James.D I remember being a kid, and having learnt the recorded version, I saw the way he plays it in the SRTS movie and figured it out. I've always played it that way since. 🤘
Hey, it's that guy from the Fender video 😉
Lemmo is such a tasteful arranger when he interprets a song. The mishap in the bridge is even cool!
6:56 Its oficial Lemmo has been forever banned at any guitar store
I'll tell you who should if you want? Ha
not as bad as Eruption. Mike did a nice tribute to EVH but a local shop had a sign in the amp room, "Play Eruption and you'll be shown the door".
Nope it’s pandemic exempt
F
@@plumiegirl47 I played it on the Bass Harmonica, it's not even a Rip Off
Love seeing an Ovation get some respect. I played a loaner in the 70s and found the projection great when I had to play without amplification.
always luved the sound of an ovation guitar , so much I bought one eventually , mines a steel string so a bit different but I really like the sound of this , much warmer but still with that ovation sound , very cool , and very well played by both Lemmon and Brandon , nylon strings bring a touch of class to the game , nice to se something different too , thanks guys.
Wow! And I love her! Killer cover!
3:46 Francisco Tárrega - Lágrima (tear)
4:53 Fleetwood Mac - Big Love ("The Dance" acoustic version of Lindsey Buckingham) GO WATCH IT! :-D
6:55 Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven
8:34 The Beatles - And I love her
Hey Michael Lemmo, i would love to see you playing some Bossa Nova, much love my dude!!!!
Stairway to heaven is one of the best songs ever written .
Punks loved bands like Rolling Stones & Led Zeppelin ,
they just did not like to admit it , yep , they loved the Beatles too .
Yessss!!! I used to request "Big Love" all the time! Mike has played it before, but this guitar definitely lends itself to the tune. Nice!
The Ovation was designed to be LOUD and rugged. Due to its shape, it is usually played standing with a strap. Part of the reason for the textured back is to make it less slippery when seated. It takes a developed skill to play it softly. Great GOTD!
Wow, that ovation sounds amazing.. very beautiful ☺️ 🎸. Thank you guys for posting this.
Excellent installment today folks
Sounds great, loved the fun banter, Jeff in LA USA
Just got a 1978 Custom Balladeer and it is fantastic unplugged, a great finger picker.
Great fun! Cheered up my day. Thanks! 😎🤙
Great Songs!!! I love variety.... great job Michael
Sounds amazing. I use a ‘72 Country Artist 1624 myself and the acoustic sound is shockingly good for an artist depth bowl. Plugged in it’s a whole different animal.
Pretty good Michael, and yes both of y'all played well. Beautiful guitar also!
Excellent performances by Brandon and Michael. I really enjoyed their playing.
Stairway is the first thing I play whenever I go to Guitar Center.
for the love of god, lemmo needs to teach me how to play and i love her
Usually not a fan of a nylon string guitar, but this one sounds pretty nice.
Look up Toh Kay "the hands that thieve" to change your mind
@@rectoplasmic4630 I don't wanna change my mind.
Willie Nelson does ok with his nylon stringed Trigger.
Loved the chemistry between every one
Take a bow, well played.
No, no, no, no. If Lemmo is going to play And I Love Her, he needs to sing. Sing Lemmo; you have beautiful voice!
The immortal Glenn Campbell was an Ovation player - the Balladeer. Rest in Power, Glenn - long may you run.
i think he was the most prominent Ovation player, yes?
@@greg7656 yes, Glen Campbell and Nancy Wilson are the two names that come to mind when I think of players who had an Ovation endorsement. Glen Campbell also played a Deacon, one of the two solidbody electrics Ovation made back then.
@@jamesthe-doctor8981 Jim Croce , Jeff Lynne , Eddie Rabbit Melissa Etheridge played Ovation guitars too and not to forget the great Ritchie Sambora of Bon Jovi playing his double neck Ovation on the song Wanted Dead or Alive
@@greg7656 Eddie Rabbit , Jeff Lynne , Richie Sambora , Melissa Etheridge , Steve Lukather just name a few played Ovation guitars
Willie Nelson doesnt play Ovation but he does pretty well with Trigger his nylon string guitar.
outstanding
What a treat!
Wow, Ive dealt with Ovations so many years, owned about 30 and never seen such an "early" one with the "shiny bowl".
Loved this episode.
No Stairway, denied. Lol
Both of you played well. Had a friend in the 70s with a steel string Ovation. Couldn't keep it on my lap to save my life my, lol
Enjoyed guitar of the day, today
Thanks
What happened to Affordable Favorites? Brandon does a great job with that.
Maybe Brandon still looking for his fav affordable guitar
Forever a Beatle fan. And I love her!! Zep was awesome too
Hey Michael, you played big hits very vell. Sound of Guitar is very good, years gave good taste to the sound.
LOOKIN' OUT FOR LOVE!!!!!
BIG BIG LOVE!!!!
Should have plugged it in. Have to wear the guitar strap or get the rubber sticker on the bottom for Ovations. Good job.
I just bought a 75 Applause in the original case the other day on FB marketplace for $40. I had to re-solder a wire, clean it up and put on new strings. The head looks better that the Ovation. I am on the look out these days for old Ovations and Applause guitars made in the USA.
Great Flat Top today! Awesome sound and beautiful playing! Great work! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Nice. Some Steve Hackett classical vibes from the rookie!
8:35 And I love her by the Beatles
It also sounds great on the J160E because it's the most overlooked Beatles Guitar:ua-cam.com/video/TcLMFUkPTc0/v-deo.html
Congrats on the Fender Instagram feature brother!!
Hi Have you got a Lancewood Elite Ovation Classical Shallow Bowl Round Sound Hole with Abalone
Inlay around and Abalone Inlay Binding Nylon 5 band equaliser String Electric?
9:49 The sweetest chord I've ever heard
The Beatles "And I love her"
Sounded like a b7... I love b
nice hearing guitar sound without the magic pedal board
Nice job on "and I lover"...
And I Love Her.
Lmaooo! That was goldddd
Who the F doesn’t like this?! Jesus.
👏👏👏
What year is this guitar made?
Nice
I'm guessing that dates from about the late 60s / early 70s?
Is this item still available?
Nice job both of you guys. Different from the Norm! Thanks also Jen.
i'd love it if someone switch a guitar of the day with one of them kids plastic guitars ones on mike.
Hello from Amsterdam OHIO
No Sound Detuned
Beautiful Guitar .
Struktur Bowl like " Gitarrenlaute " & Modern Bodymaterial &
Good Woods & Präzision =
A Stable good sounding Instrument .
All USA Ovations Classic Nylons Series and Models are good&nice .
Michael didn’t read the sign “NO STAIRWAY!”
Ovations unpluged sound like rubber bands on a 2 by 4. Ovations need to be plugged in.
SHE HAS SUCH A GREAT LAUGH. DON'T KNOW HER NAME ON CAMERA.
I want to hang at mike’s house tonight with a drink and a smoke.
Guys... Your Ovation story is off. Let me know if I can help...
Yes . Brandon needs to read up on Kaman Helicopters. This was 2 years ago and he just recently did it again. The company was booming in the 60s.
I love big love
Do you want to understand just how good George Harrison was? Watch Lemmo struggle to play one of his easier compositions here. And that's NO shade on Lemmo.
What Beatles song is that??
ua-cam.com/video/5tc0gLSSU1M/v-deo.html
And i love her.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️👏👏👏👏
The word "covet" was created for this instrument. ...nuf said.
Or it could be lanceroad Elite
I went into my local music store to buy a Pimentel classical 43 years ago and walked out with one of these instead. Big mistake.
Lemo's great but bring the Kid for anything nylon.
I know he's not playing stairway........ thought that was banned at all music stores! LMAO (most played song at stores)
I usually abhor Ovations, but this one gets a pass. Still, when they went to the plastic back with steel strings, all character lost.
Finally, though, I understand the appeal of some Ovation axes.
. . . Just 'what' exactly is not too like ? ...
*instantly copy right claimed
No looper?
Big love by fleetwoodmac
*Big Love by Lindsey Buckingham
@@Timinator62 its actually a fleetwood Mac song. Though Lindsey wrote the song. It was released under fleetwood mac
Male it's has like flat you Lance and you still have your mask on
Let adrian van den burg lose with this type gitar
Yup!
Brandon, Covid mask, it all fits
I put a mask on my guitar and it did not sound good. It sounded like bad breath. Research!
Please re do this video without the masks!!
In 1975 I bought into Ovation’s claims that the “bowl” was designed to “focus the sound to the soundhole, resulting in louder projection.” Man, what a load of shit THAT was! I bought a Balladeer model when I was in tech school in 1975 and it didn’t take long to realize how little projection it actually had. I took it with me to Germany and left it there.
Interesting version of "Taurus!"
Masks.........................................................................
KAMEL TOE AND HANDSY JOE GOTTA GO.
The kids are playing giddy grabass today...Balance that guitar on a leather hackysack to keep on your leg...
Could the kids making this video be any more obnoxious?
