Chuck, I turned on my TV and I want to UA-cam and I found you and you’re going through your Vlog. I’m retired electrician and I was telling you before that you’re hooking up all this stuff onto one circuit and that’s why things are Poppin that’s why things are not working right because you’re overloading the circuit OK you need to do a dedicated circuit, run another circuit into that kitchen where your mother has her temporary kitchen Your fluorescent fixture that you hung up you said there’s something going on with it because you have too much on one circuit you need to take some of the stuff off of one circuit and connect it to a new circuit. OK now you’re fluorescent fixture. It may have a starter inside the fixture sometimes your starter is bad in the fixture and no blink, but I’ll tell you right now. You got too much on one circuit you need to take something off the circuit unplugged your washing machine for the time being everything else running right now but if you’re just run a new circuit into the garage and put that dishwasher on one circuit maybe you won’t have the problem anymore, but you got too much on your overloading the circuits Chuck.

I had an Austin Allegro back in the 80's as my first car.
Had a manual choke on the dashboard to reduce the air the fuel, when starting on a cold morning.
It was cool to see one in rural Thailand

My first car as well but mine was a 1300 estate. It was crap and burned nearly as much oil as fuel but you always have fond memories of your first car and the freedom it gave you.

Best to let your mother in law pick the tiles she wants…. To avoid “issues” in the future…
Something you said…reminds me how I got here… I was working my ass off building “things” for the DOD in New Jersey… I wasn’t married.. no kids.. everything paid for..still healthy at 62…have investments…and everyone is aware of there mortality… and a friend says to me….the good lord promises no one tomorrow…I stood up and said I’m outa here….. I’m going to Thailand… “I’ve got no time to be sad”….🙏🏻👍😀

She picked out her tiles for the bathroom floor and the wall. We will pick the tiles in the kitchen that is safe to walk on and matches the new cabinets. When you're in your final days whatever money, things, or people around you won't really matter, the only thing that you'll want is to live a little bit longer. Best thing to do is live a happy life now.

Good morning Chuck & Paige! You're right in getting a reputable local contractor. Very nice that you can handle a lot of the minor repairs/projects yourself. Interesting and entertaining video! WOW! Very good prices indeed, in comparison to U.S., especially California pricing costs. Whatever floats your boat is fine by this viewer. You have a good design eye. Will follow along on your journey. Good fortune, health, fun and happiness! Stay safe

Mostly, I feel quite safe and secure anywhere I've been in Thailand, day or night. The one thing that scares the bejeezus out of me here is the all-too-common high gloss floor tiles that seem to be loved in Thai construction. They only need the slightest hint of moisture to be slicker than black ice on a shaded corner turn. Provided you can find a color that's right for you, those textured matte finish floor tiles are wonderful. 🙂

Really enjoying the new building project. I wonder how many times you will get frustrated with the builders not doing it the way you wanted it. It will be interesting to see how many times you have to get them to change what they have already done. The Austin Allegro was a terrible car but they were everywhere back in the day. Good luck with the build, the ideas are good. Hope it works out for you all.

Your father-in-law staff. They are lucky to still have a job behaving like that. I feel him being frustrated.
I love that you share your experiences. You and Paige are a lovely couple.
You're so respectful and have a great relationship with your inlaws. How life and people should be. We have commitments with elders. Trying our best to work out some time to get to Thailand. The last few years have been a little hectic. But on burn out. So a holiday is well overdue. Would love to buy you both a pint or two, three. 555.
Amazing condition. My friend had one of these cars back in the 80's.
So cheap the repairs on your mota. Like you say, you would not even look at it for that price.
Excited times for everyone. The food always makes me feel hungry. Wishing you both a great week.

I assure you it is not the case.. thanks. No things are popping. The light had a grounded out wire on the bulb fixture (LED no starter, very low amp). The other wall sockets are from the existing plugs on the other side of the wall that were already used for the same appliances. There will be new separate outlets ran in the new kitchen by the contractor. We are dealing with 220 in Thailand, you would be amazed at how things here just don't pop...
As I said things are different here. Experience will drive you mad here, not same same. Everything is working just fine.

I share the concern of other viewers about the electrics. Your existing set up looks like it's about 40 years old and spec'd for the 1980'needs. Please consider just getting the whole thing rewired with higher grade cables and boxes with some excess capacity for future requirements i.e. adding space for your mum. Also consider putting in three phase electric sockets in the garage, so the tradesmen can use their professional equipment and so you are prepared should you ever get an electric car. But running spurs off the current set up looks like a potential fire risk. This is meant to be a positive comment 😅.

    • @notime2bsad
      @notime2bsad  3 місяці тому

Please Stay tuned for video updates.....There is separate 3 phase in the garage! a breaker box will be added in there when we renovate that area.

Hi Chuck. Great seeing the renos progress. When you install the new breaker box, suggest you include a surge protector before the box. Can buy them for 500 baht and replace them easily after lightning strikes.

Yes same as a cooler fan. They said they don't want it they're happy with their circulating stand-up fan. I have learned the hard way from buying many things that I thought would be of convenience for them only to be pushed aside or given away.

Now you’re talking about your mother-in-law gets real hot in the kitchen when she’s cooking then put a big exhaust fan in their truck when she’s cooking you turn on the exhaust fan. I’ll suck the heat out.

I have already said many times and showed the plans with the exhaust fan hood. Why would I close up the large window and not put a exhaust fan?

@@notime2bsad Chuck I always said that you are very good man. You’re very good to your mother. You’re very good to your mother-in-law. Don’t let anybody say if you’re a bad person because you’re not Chuck you’re an awesome guy. You’re a great husband and you’re awesome son-in-law and your mom is awesome. She did a great job in Payton her kitchen. I did tell you before that you need to buy some Kiper primer paint that you put on a wall first because it keeps on bleeding through the brick so it looks like to me that you had bought some type of sealer so you can seal that bleeding brick and then you do a second coat to paint your mom did an awesome job she really did. She’s very handy. God bless her.

If you were going to put in AC in the kitchen you probably wouldn’t need to close off the stairs as the cold air won’t rise, would need to close off if wanting to heat.

Get them a sound bar with Dolby-Atmos with a Subwoofer and put it under the TV on the cabinet you are getting. They make a huge difference especially if they like those singing shows.

Hey, Chuck. I got an idea I think Pa Red and Mafia would like. Why not gut the area where the stairs are and put in an elevator or lift for your and Paige and make the rest of the area a master bathroom for your in laws? You can put a toilet and sink on the end nearest the kitchen for everyone who needs to use it. On the other side of the wall you could put a seated shower, double vanity, and toilet. The lift or elevator would take up space opposite the half bath and open onto the second floor facing the opposite side of the lift downstairs. You hate the stairs, or it seems you do since they’re hazardous( they don’t seem to be a standard 7”riser/ 10” tread you find stateside) so why not kill two birds with one stone?
