Hi Chuck , Paige, Mafia and Dad. A hell of a opportunity there in the garage. Have a huge party garage style with music and bear and a little dance floor.
Thank you for sharing your home renovation. Must be physically and mentally draining not to mention about the wallet, the noise and dust. Take care Chuck and Paige.
RE: Wax Ring. I hear you, I went through the same thing including the toilet that rocked when I sat on it. The rule for toilets is, if it moves, it leaks. That rule was certainly true in my case. Like you, I have some concerns about wax rings not working the best here in Thailand. Fortunately there is an alternative. If you want, sometime go on UA-cam and put 'wax ring vs rubber ring' in your search bar. I think in our new build I will be going with rubber rings, and I'm going to be there to make sure they get installed. 🙂

Wow! Unbelievable! What a great save from the appliances. $600+ for all three (range hood, stove, and fridge). I'm in the Philippines and the price you paid for the 3 items was ¾ of the price of the Samsung side by side 24.7 cu fridge that I recently bought. Wow! That's a whopping savings for you guys. Am excited to see the outcome of your project Chuck & Paige
It’s nuts how well priced it is there - yesterday we bought an Electrolux rangehood (overhead exhaust fan) the best price I could get (I haggled them down a bit) for $1039 AUD - double fridges like yours TCL on sale are $1035 (Perth WA)
Yes, I really enjoy the subtitles too. I bet they are time consuming while editing, but they are informative and interesting. I love languages. I have tried to learn some Thai, but since I don't live there, nor have studied the language, I sound like a toddler.
Hey Chuck & Paige! Repeat yourself, no matter! And I have watched every single episode and commented as well on each one. OMG Can't believe the price of the refrigerator. CRAZY appliance pricing. and with delivery too. Excellent work crew! Interesting and entertaining video; thank you for sharing the experience. In conclusion, good fortune, health, fun and happiness. Stay safe
Excellent price on the refrigerator. One year ago, I bought a refrigerator at Home Depot here in Hollywood, California. It was half the size of the one you bought (It was for a single person) and it was on sale for $600 and $50 to take the old one away. Good score on your part. I hope things go smoothly for all involved during the renovation. It's fun to watch the journey. Cheers.
Things are moving along the fun part is shopping or picking out for the new stuff can’t wait to see the results happy for everyone on your new kitchen and bathroom up grade
So exciting video. Feels good shopping yeah 😁 happy. Shopping therapy is always the best ❤️ I think many Asians or SEA seldom use 3 burners stove is because the wok and another pot will take up most of the space so the middle burner will seldom be used.
They say things happen in 3's Chuck .. you're safe now. The prices you achieved are incredible and they are going to look great when installed. Bushyboy Oz.
I have just went through a major remodel. They lifted the whole house up 4 feet to get out of the flood zone. The whole lot then had to be redone, walls, floors etc...What upset me most was the young ladies bringing their youngsters . I was fearfull of them getting hurt with all the usual construction hazzards around
Hi Chuck, Paige and Mafia. Good video! As an recently retired Architect, the construction process can be “trying”, try to be patient, expect minor changes and enjoy the process. Best of luck!
Maybe you should choose a refrigerator that could make ice cubes. It would be luxurious and easy. But it probably also requires a water filter that is connected indirectly.
Good thing you are not paying for the job by the hour Chuck! Those guys demoing your kitchen were making more noise than destruction! I would have lost it!! lol!
You are right there in Thailand. The land of so many massage parlors. If you are feeling your lumbar back straining at the end of a heavy activity day or at the end of a long bike ride, you should go get a preventative injuries massage/rubdown. That is what the professional athletes do, because sport science have proven that it prevents injuries. You only have one spine Chuck, so take good care of it. BTW Chuck, if you get swivel chairs for the bar counter, then the people sitting at the kitchen bar counter can swivel around from the bar counter and be able to watch TV as well.
The blue lines plastic material is called tarpaulin in my area (Malaysia ) used by mostly as temporary lining on floors to prevent damage to tiles while moving items or as temporary shield for dust rain etc
Chuck ,iv'e rode a bike into work for 40 plus years ,Then i caught a lift for 3 weeks (not long back)and started to love the fact i was getting dropped off at my door step .Wrong 🤦♂I'm back to riding my bike and no longer ache after working a shift .Keeping active is the way to go mate , 👍So bin that bloody electric bike unless your'e out with Paige 😁555 .Getting exited watching the change going on i almost want to skip a few vlogs 555😁Love to Pa red and Paige's Mum ❤
This safety "standard" of this local contractor is somewhat normal for them. This may works for small contractor who works for household customers. But for most corporate plant environment, especially chemical or oil&gas industry; we have to follow international standard (and Thai law about safety which is quite rigid) also. Say for my employer's company, they have safty policy 100%. No contractor is permitted to work unless they have full personal protective gear. And there are countless of safety policies for precaution before danger happens.
Rent a HEPA air filter unit. Don't know if they have those there in Thailand. Used to use them in construction sites where there was still occupancy. That and some Visqueen. Good to go. 👍
Ha, I feel exhausted for you running around all the stores! After chilling on the island, this is like going back to work for you. It will be worth all the effort and expense in a few weeks time. Stick in there, get yourself a massage and let the team do all the heavy lifting 😊
Customer service in Thailand is so much better then in the U.S. Everywhere I go in Thailand people are helpful. I know sometimes it is because I am wealthy American. But I spend much more money in the U.S., I have multiple rental properties, spend thousands every year and the customer service sucks.
The region that I live in is mostly Thai people, I see customer service is standard for everybody. On a side note there are many very wealthy Thai people but you would never know from the way they look.
I remember your search for the wax ring! I can recall the frustration in your voice as you tried to explain to the Thai salespeople what you were looking for.
Our toilets leak septic odor. I suspect bad toilet seals with open bottom style toilets plus they used hard sealant around the base of the toilet to the tile. The thing has to be cut out to R&R the toilet. Don't get me started on P-traps or tiling. Every Thai thinks he's a builder. Don't let them build nuclear power plants.
Chuck that fluorescent fixture that’s no longer working anymore. You could’ve have burnt if there’s a starter inside that fixture it’s right behind the fluorescent bulb that you have in the fixture. If you pull out the fluorescent pole, you may see a little silver thing and we gotta do your push it and you turn it to the left and I’ll come out that’s called F-2 starter and that starters OK then you burnt out the ballast on the fixture you can’t replace the ballast on the fixture and it worked just fine, but you probably overload the circuit. That’s why it popped at the fixture or your wired fixture. That’s why burnt chuck please be careful when you electrical you don’t want to put a lot of stuff on one circuit and that’s why things are Poppin dedicated circuit into the garage area so if you start turning lights on and switches on in the kitchen area or the garage area and it’s Poppin at the panel box. That means you got too much stuff on one circuit
Thanks for the insight bulbs these days don't have starters or ballast their LED mostly, they work a little bit different thank you for leaving a comment.

When are you hooking up a fluorescent fixture if you don’t wire it up right you’ll end up burning the ballace and that’s probably what happened so that fixtures no longer work anymore not unless she replaced the ballace
Thank you for your insight. That's an LED bulb there is no ballast or starter. The socket was damaged I should have shown it before Paige gave it to the neighbor. Alternating current is not the same as direct current when it comes to placement of the wires. Unless I'm accidentally putting it on the ground or neutral.
@@notime2bsad all right Chuck it’s an LED light no ballast then what happens Chuck overloaded the circuit or you hooked up the wire wrong please be careful Chuck. I love you guys. I don’t want nothing to happen as far as fire.

@22:48 Nice! I like how it's tested before you take it home, install, and discover it's defective.
This work may be demanding, but you will find great satisfaction in serving what you have created. I see the fire burning in you. Big cinema
Thais just love their Angle grinders and use it for any job!
They even use it to cut tile instead of the more efficient tile cutter! 😊
Yes they do. I am guessing since everything here is mostly concrete and iron it is a handy tool. Better than a hammer and chisel I suppose....
I have never done a renovation but I am really loving these videos! Thanks for sharing with us Chuck!
Glad you enjoyed it
Looking good Chuck. A lot of choices to be made but looking like you have made the right decisions so far. Take care and enjoy your day. 😊
