Got 2 of these now.. Gave up on the CRT 9900 V4 at my parents house in the UK. Pulled the trigger on a Anytone AT-6666 Aliexpress 160 quid delivered in 5 days !!! No hassle no extra payouts.. 80w ssb on 11m sounds awesome.. Even sussed how to adjust the Echo delay and volume via internal trimmers.. Only weird thing . Selecting receive only on the clarifier. Its bang on frequency in TX.. Select RX/TX on the clarifier 2 O'clock is bang on ??? The receive sensitivity is impressive.. I have little faith in new transceivers at this price point. However this one has got my attention. stock mic at 28 mic gain sounds awesome.. 73s 153 AT 888
How awesome is that.... So glad that the 9900 survived in tact and no worse for wear. I've never expected it to be such a simple repair. If you have any troubles with that speaker wire insert I suspect a little dab of hot glue will do the trick and not damage the circuit board or components.
Great video Fred. Again. Thanks for the informational and interesting offering. I am very pleased with my 9900 and I now know what it looks like on the inside without having to take the cover off. great stuff mate.
Seen this happen on several boards not all CB. I think it is slight over heat on soldering loosens the plastic holding to the pins. It will probably come off if you pull the speaker Conn off again. It probably would work with out the plastic she'll just the connector on the speaker side. Or it could be sh##
Most of those Sockets are made like that the plastic just pushes over the pins..have a look at them on a scrap pcb if you get the chance....glad it's all sorted Fred...
Nice one Fred, glad it was nothing worse. I would have thought the socket would have been fixed to the pcb a bit more securely??. Anyway glad you got it fixed. Take care Fred.

Great stuff Fred glad it was an easy fix, catch you on the 305 Net soon.👍👍👍👍
Good fix, luckily!
Small blob of silicone or rubber glue the sort used in tyre repair kits on the plug base perhaps just to hold and secure it
