Thanks Steve.....you just saved me about £50 or £60 (going by ebay prices). I've got both the CRE8900 and the CRT-SS9900 and I was planning to get another Road Devil mic for the CRT-SS9900 but now I know that I can use the one I've already got on the CRE8900. I didn't know they were wired the same, so many thanks :-)

Pin 4 on the ss9900 is not for channel change up and down it uses pin 3 the tx line which is used for both tx and channel change

Hi Jonathan I will look into that, thanks for letting me know.
I have just looked at a diagram from crt, their diagram looks to be from the other way around ie from the inside of the rig.
If need be I will sort a new vid explaining all, I realise our knowledge comes from a collective and not just from me and others uploading.

Can I assume that the wire coming from that mic is not mic wire with a shield wrapped around the audio wire? Does the 9900 have a function in its programming to go from Electret to Dynamic, carbon, etc....????

hi Arlene i am unsure regarding your wiring question.
normally the shield does wrap around the audio wire, although its often hard to get a good visual on it.
the 9900 has no electret/dynamic function, that said the stock mike is great.
i have tried a kpo on it, but found no improvement.

    Hi Steve.
Which would you buy crt 9900 or the crt 6900 . Getting back into CB well give it a go anyway . Thanks Dave

Hi David I have both, both are good rigs.
The 9900 costs more but worth the extra, pair it up with a good twig and off you go.

So I can unplug my mic from the CRT-SS9900 and plug it straight into the CRE8900 without having to change the wiring.....is that correct?

Hi UK Guy if i said it in the video then yes.
Gotta be honest here i got rid of the 8900 a long time ago.
There is a way to check.
Type into google microphone wiring, you should find a page with all the popular rigs are listed.
Look up bother rigs and make a note of both and compare.
      Sorry for the late reply.

So the rx wire goes to pin 2?

    • @CBRadiouk1
      @CBRadiouk1  5 років тому +1

The rx wire is not needed, as the 9900 receives with out a mike.

The 9900 receives with out the microphone plugged in, so you only need 3 wires.
tx / audio and the common.
A different story if you have a mike with up/down buttons.
