Excellent demonstration of your RB3's versatility, and I appreciated your demonstrating the RB3's fine carving. For what it's worth, I like to see wooden handles and sheathes with ferro-rod loops offered. Thanks!
I just handled one of these...local dealer in East TN. Awesome design, blade and ergonomics. Your designer did one hell of a job on this one. I've owned several ESEE models...just bought this one...to add to collection and can't wait to put it to use! Thanks ESEE again...KUDOS to your design team there!
One other quick comment...your ESEE web page the designer of the RB3 talks about taking it into other countries and liked the blade length, not too long and NOT to short. That's a fantastic POINT! Thanks again!
Great video, was looking for a smaller blade for my day pack and I believe this is the one! Can't wait to see how it holds up against the Laser Strike(my current favorite).
I really like the Laser Strike as well but the RB3 is a totally different animal all together. The RB3 is hard to beat for general woodcraft and really excels at detail work!
So we CAN baton with this knife or NO? (I just ordered it) I see it comes with a warning to NOT BATON with this particular knife. Please let us know. 👍🏽
Awsome Job shane. It looks bloody Awsome mate, so much so, you now need to offer these as an upgrade package or as a whole thing. Well done, a great video, really enjoyed watching it. Massive thumbs up from me👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I think it's funny that Patrick does all of that batoning in the video. He must not be the one who put the warning label about batoning in the rb3 box!
@@RandallsAdventureESEE I can see the reasoning behind it but from the reviews that I've seen from people stuck here in the states the blade length was the one and only draw back. No doubt I'm still going to invest in one.
Good morning from switzerland everybody One question, i use a victorinox with a little saw , esee cr2.5, gränsfors outdoor axe and a silky bigboy for bushcrafting. I look for a good carving and wood procesing knife and i realy like the rb3 but i also like the design of the pr4 😂 i can not decide 🤔
Looks like an awesome knife. One question - the knife comes with a no baton warning, but the knife shown in the video is shown batoning quite a bit. Just a bit confused here.
Awesome, was it an issue with early knives, or should I still treat it gently? I have a finn wolf in my pocket now, no stranger to scandi. Also, have a bunch of other esee stuff and it's solid gear.
Toxie2725 i think it was as much a matter of education of our customers. We set high expectations for ourselves in production and our customers share those same expectations. We saw more early editions come back than we wanted which was why we added the warning. After a while it became less of an issue and we saw fewer and fewer returned.
I really want this knife but I’m scared of the complaints people of had with the edge chipping and rolling. I follow you and RB on Instagram and you guys seems to beat them up pretty good with no issues. What do you recommend?
You can't have a scandi in a modern steel It takes a lot of work to sharpen a scandi in carbon if you nick or really dull it in a modern stainless it'll take even longer.
I live in a state that has no limits on what you can carry or how you carry it. The junglas 2 is perfect for me size wise..... Unfortunately I just yesterday broke the blade and am going to see if esee will hook me up after sending it back to them
I can’t decide between the RB3 and the 3HM. My knives see most use at camp but also play a role in everyday carry on occasion. Any insight that could help me choose? Thank you!
Erik Taylor I’ll make it simple. If you don’t have a Scandi Blade in your quiver then get the RB3 for sure. The cutting/carving geometry of that Scandi is hard to beat for woodcraft projects around camp. The 3HM is about as useful as a blade can be for general camp use. Hope this helps, it’ll be hard to go wrong with either.
we've had a few instances where the edge rolled early after the knives were released......in no way a lesser knife and backed by our warranty....and the number of instances have all but gone away...
David Tate hey I’m planning on adding the rb3 to my gear, and was wondering if you had a review for the rb3 considering your comment is from over a year ago
ESEE making a lesser knife... :-D Oh, my heck! That's so funny. Much like saying Gransfors Bruks making a lesser axe! When it comes to ESEE, there's no such thing as a "lesser knife."
What a bonus! I learned how to make useful camp tools watching a knife review. The best!

Rockd thank you. Glad you like it
I own a couple ESEE blades, the 4 and 5. I've been looking into a smaller blade for just this kind of work. Great video!
RIP Mors Kochanski 5 December 2019. The more you know, the less you carry.
Awesome video. Thank you. For making great products. Second to none.
We hated to hear about Mors' passing as well....we lost a legend but what a legacy of teaching and experience he left!
Great looking knife! Digging the bushcraft edition at ESEE
My favorite ESEE
Great looking knife. Awesome demo too...Nice job, Patrick.
Thank you!!
It's great watching you guys do bushcraft things.
we enjoy doing them!!
One other quick comment...your ESEE web page the designer of the RB3 talks about taking it into other countries and liked the blade length, not too long and NOT to short. That's a fantastic POINT! Thanks again!
Reuben is a globe trotting fool and the blade length is a very important consideration in his design.
Hey Guys, just got mine in the mail, looking forward to putting it on my belt and having some fun!
Just got mine today. LOVE IT!!!
Glad to hear it!
So we CAN baton with this knife or NO? (I just ordered it) I see it comes with a warning to NOT BATON with this particular knife. Please let us know. 👍🏽
yes..you can. but a new edge may roll a bit...hit it with a stone or strop and you will be fine.
Awsome Job shane. It looks bloody Awsome mate, so much so, you now need to offer these as an upgrade package or as a whole thing. Well done, a great video, really enjoyed watching it. Massive thumbs up from me👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome knife and awesome review !
Those are some cool tricks I can’t wait to try them🤟🏼
My friend has this knife, i got the junglas and the izula 2 and I'm sooo jelaous of his rb3, i tried it and I need it in my liiiiiife!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
These videos are great.
You guys should patent, market and sell Patricks necklace idea, ESEE-survival-jewellery!
Daniel thanks. We are trying! And appreciate the comments.
Un gran cuchillo el RB3 !!!!!! estoy muy contento con el !!!!
Ahora estoy buscando el PR4 para sumarlo a mi equipo !!!
100% pleasure to see this.
thank you! We have a good time filming and editing these videos for you guys!
Its a great knife for sure
Awesome knife review! Realy good !
I think it's funny that Patrick does all of that batoning in the video. He must not be the one who put the warning label about batoning in the rb3 box!
we just do what everyone else does and ignore it and hammer away.
Wish the blade was a bit longer but I might purchase one anyway. Looks like a really solid knife. Good vid brother.
pistolwhip502 Reuben likes the 3” blade Bc it allows him to travel discreetly thru some countries that are kinda strict on knives.
@@RandallsAdventureESEE I can see the reasoning behind it but from the reviews that I've seen from people stuck here in the states the blade length was the one and only draw back. No doubt I'm still going to invest in one.
@Dick Fageroni lol Reuben Bolieu, the person who DESIGNED the knife 🤦🏻♂️
Good morning from switzerland everybody

sink swim both are great but the scandi grind RB3 is a wood carving machine.
Thank you! Excellent video.
How about an RB3 style handle on a PR4 blade 🤔 I'd buy that yesterday.
Yes, and make a PR5 too
Una gran revision !!! Y un excelente cuchillo , tengo el rb3 y nome canso de usarlo !!!
I enjoyed the hell out of this video...My RB3 in my hand the whole time!
I believe those will be my next ESEE knife
I got his kepert pr4 on the way.1095 knot my best steel.i guess its ok for camp ing cutting .i like the old design.ill try one 👍
Looks like an awesome knife. One question - the knife comes with a no baton warning, but the knife shown in the video is shown batoning quite a bit. Just a bit confused here.
Toxie2725 we have removed the warning about the RB3.
Awesome, was it an issue with early knives, or should I still treat it gently? I have a finn wolf in my pocket now, no stranger to scandi. Also, have a bunch of other esee stuff and it's solid gear.

Nice. Have PR4, carry all day, great tool.
I have seen this video many times and I always wondered what is Patrick cooking
Some kind of instant pot of noodles/chili....wasn't much to look at but it was actually pretty good if I remember right.
Damn. This is more impressive than 99% of those staged bushcrafting videos.
Great video. Can you do one on the Esee 6
We are working out way through our (extensive) line....an Esee6 and 6HM are both in the works! Thanks for watching
There is a "no batoning" warning label, but Patrick batons in the video...🤔
kculbert no one ever said we were smart
I like the knife but the dog chewing on the stick is my favorite part.
She's the best at making tinder for the fire.
Hello; What is the angle of the RB3 blade for sharpening please?
I really want this knife but I’m scared of the complaints people of had with the edge chipping and rolling. I follow you and RB on Instagram and you guys seems to beat them up pretty good with no issues. What do you recommend?
This in S35VN would be wicked.
Awesome Review!
Say Heah Great video, good looking knife, you did good.,,. p
great video
This video made my PR4 feel lonely.
jg3, rb3 in s35vn please😁

WOW; i need to get one of these
Love y'all's fixed blades!! Junglas 2 is my edc if that tells you anything. Lol
Vegeta Ki glad to hear it!! The J2 is a great blade. Enjoy!
Junglas as an EDC? I might carry the 4, usually Izula
I live in a state that has no limits on what you can carry or how you carry it. The junglas 2 is perfect for me size wise..... Unfortunately I just yesterday broke the blade and am going to see if esee will hook me up after sending it back to them
Vegeta Ki follow the guidelines listed on our warranty page on our website. We will get you taken care of.
Yes sir, I have already read and understand the warranty completely. And thank you greatly!
I can’t decide between the RB3 and the 3HM. My knives see most use at camp but also play a role in everyday carry on occasion. Any insight that could help me choose? Thank you!

Great video, I thought I would not need that model but now I see that I do. Maybe I will win one in the giveaway
mission accomplished!! Thank you Thomas!
Super!
Very Nice knife
What is the saw and axe you are using?
Bahco Laplander saw and Med Camp Axe by H&B Forge
if you made an rb4 with a kydex or injections molded sheath it would be a instant buy
Evidently you know fuck all about knives. Maybe you show take up knitting you pussy. 😆
My favorite 🥰
Bushcraft dog making great tinder, once it dries.
Make a 6hm in scandi
with the camp lore finish and spine too!!!
I hate to see ESEE making a lesser knife with a warning label.
we've had a few instances where the edge rolled early after the knives were released......in no way a lesser knife and backed by our warranty....and the number of instances have all but gone away...
They do i got one coming😚
