Oh gosh this has to be the most enjoyable little winter walk! I've been to Salzburg when there was heavy snow, and the sun was out the following day. I just love walking around snowy scenes with the sodium yellow street lamps. I love all the ironmongery signs - just like in Salzburg. And it's spotless as well.
Love the fact that you do not put all the tours to music. It feels more like an actual walk!

We spent a few hours at the Christmas market in Rothenburg last night and it was lovely, even though the snow has now disappeared. Of course, there were lots of tourists from the USA and China. There was delicious mulled wine and bratwurst. Fortunately, I only live 40 minutes away and will be happy to come back when it snows again. Over the next few days we will visit the Christmas market in Dinkelsbühl, which is also said to be very nice.

Great views and clarity on that camera! Your Christmas tours are outta this world! I visited the old country 3 times with my mother. We stayed here in 1978 when I was 12. This is one of t h e most romantic places you will be ever able to go to. Very medieval, the city walls are almost complete still from the medieval days. Seriously, one of the prettiest places in Germany ever.
And if you like Christmas you will fall in love with Kaethe Wohlfahrt, a wondrous place for sure.
Oh, and the little stores at the side of the walkways are exquisite and very original.
1:22:07 ! Das Plönlein ! The most Famous Landmark of Rothenburg ! In Daytime , in the Snow , I used to drag our Schlitten all the way from Home , down this Street , through the Archway/Tor and round to the right and then went Tobogganing down the Snowy Hill on the left and stopped just short of that Street curving around the bottom atop of the Tauber Valley , Tauber Tal ! All this at age 7-9 ! Good Childhood times !

My goodness ! That Hotel Eisenhut was already a very Posh Place in my Childhood ! We were NOT allowed behind and inside the front Doors ,lol ! Some Posh Cars of the past used to park out the front !

I am going there on Sunday with my family..not to film though. We got a cabin there to stay at for one night. Monday we are going to go play in the snow somewhere. Maybe I'll go back and film if I have time. It's a 3 and half drive for me. :)

My family and I just went to Leavenworth last weekend. There was some snow on the ground but not too much. Maybe if it were snowing, it would make for a good walk. We had a good time...but it's not like a real German market that's for sure. :)
Another beautiful Christkindmarkt tour. We have numerous Käthe Wohlfahrt oranments on our tree. Nice to see the origin of them.
I would highly recommend coming here in the spring. While this is lovely early summer and spring is my choice as a Canadian. 😉

Super Christmas, super Deutschland
At 6:20 Minutes , the Church on the right ! Franziskaner Kirche haben wir sie genannt ! I lived in the Herrngasse from 1944 to about 1953 and then we moved outside of Town to a place called Heckenacker Siedlung ! Till we Migrated to Australia , leaving Bremer Hafen around the 8th of December 1954 !
Es una Ciudad con mucho encanto y alegría 😅, yo estuve en el 2002 con mi madre y me quedé maravillada de su Histori a y todo lo que ofrece .Un ambiente increíble, las tiendas , fui en verano. Pero me hubiera gustado verla en Navidades es una Ciudad de Cuento .Maravilloso video, que enseña la Historia , y todos sus rincones. 😊😅🎉❤

That Rathaus Turm ( Council Chambers Tower) is 60 Metres tall ! Was up there as a young Boy ! There were a few of us and we tricked the Guard and made it to the top but he got us quickly down again ! In 2013 my Wifey and I went up there , paid €10 Euros each to see the sights !
At 6:50 ! See the green Building on the left , number 18 ? It is called - we called it , Staudtisches Haus and we lived on the first Floor till 1953 after my Twin Siblings were born that March !

Glad you went to Rothenburg instead of Belgium ! I am originally from Belgium and years ago, coming back from Schongau, which is very pretty, with partial ramparts and pastel colour houses, we planned to stop here, but due to road work we ran so late, and had no time to see this marvel. With the Christmas decoration it is just like a fairy tale. I hope you did not hit your head too hard there. Ouch! May be you can do Trier next year ! I'd love to see that, been there only once! 1.00.35 The Markus Turm and this side is the Rödergasse ! The Narrow Street/Laneway to the left is called Alter Stadtgraben and if you go down there for about 100 to 150 Metres there is a Lutheran/Evangelische Kindergarten ! I went there at roughly age 5 or so ? Not sure if it was for one or two Years , too long ago ! Visited that Kindergarten in May 2013 with my Wifey ! It has been renovated to what it looked inside when I went there !
I wish America had outdoor Christmas Markets like this.

@JamieSuzanne. Make a trip to Chicago. The Christkindlmarkt here is a smaller version of the Nürnberg Christkindlmarkt. My wife is originally from Nürnberg and she approves of it.

15:57 ! That Street is the Obere/Upper Schmiedgasse and one Morning while running down that Street , on my way to the Toppler School ,I slipped and fell , hurting my left Arm , but I still walked to School instead of the short way Home , crying my Eyes out !
The entrance Door on the right , opposite the Herrnbrunnen , that is where my Dad lived as a Boy !

1.00.33 ! Walked to School most Days in that Rödergasse coming from the Herrngasse across the bottom end of Marktplatz and into the Hafengasse ! The Toppler School that I went to is further out , outside the Walls and then turn to the right and downhill a bit and the School is on the left !

See the Gate in the Wall , on the right ? Down the Steps and the Building that is sort of attached to the Franziskaner Kirche/Church , my Mum married my Dad in the Standes Amt and , the building to the left of the Gate is where my Dad grew up , living on the first Floor !

1:24:58 ! The Laneway to the right , going uphill , the bottom of Alter Stadtgraben where I went to Kindergarten , so long ago ! Alter Stadtgraben meets the Rödergasse up the top this side if the Markus Turm !

At 9:45 ! The narrow Street , in there at the next Door , used to be a Butchery and my Mutti/Mum used to send me there to get some Kessel Brühe , Boiled Water where they must have boiled their Meats , or so ! Mum used to use that Brühe/Broth for making Knödel/Dumplings , etc !
