+Claudia Octavia Well, if we remember a season before, that he accused Trump of being an orangutan, then I would say she made it Politically Poetic...Coming this Fall on...
Wow, did you know when Reagan was president she did a show on how her chimps went to war…just when Reagan said war was natural….. it was from overfeeding them to get them to stay where she could observe them, which caused overpopulation…the real cause of wars. But don’t be branded a heretic and say growth is unnecessary! One thing I like about Maher is he unwaveringly is opposed to population growth. Paul Ehrlich.
I would have to disagree with Bill Maher on one of his assertions. He claimed that Monty Python were the Beatles of comedy. I always thought they were more like The Rutles of comedy.
+Antonius Britannia No that's just stupid ..no offence meant. The Pythons were the Beatles of Comedy..They were groundbreaking and game changers. It could be argued thT the Goons were but I think they were the warmup for what was about to explode in Comedy and in TV in the 60's in England and then the world pretty much. Oh..are you saying the Rutles because Eric Idle was in it.?That was brilliant but a spoof.
Yeah, I guess it was a weak reference. I remembered there being more than just Eric Idle being in the Rutles. Anyway, it sounded funny to me late last night. No offence taken.
Real Time is one of the few comedic talk shows that I try very hard not to miss each week. Mr. Maher is exceptional as its host. My one request is that the overtime segment go to 15 minutes and all of the guest have to respond to at least one question! Just a suggestion for someone who loves the show!
+Lawrence Murray Well said. I know they're tired, but it would be cool if each guest had a chance to have their say without interruption on one question each.
Really enjoyed the episode. Ron Reagan was hilarious, John Cleese was astoundingly brilliant (as always), and S.E. Cupp was even semi-intelligible and made good points. They even brought on a car guy who actually KNOWS about cars! To top it off, Jane Goodall! Wow! All in all, was a pretty brilliant episode.
I once walked through a doorway while Jane Goodall was passing in the opposite direction - we both happened to look up and into eachother's eyes at the same moment. I've never seen eyes as deep, soulful and kind before or since. An extraordinary woman!
I love Jane Goodall! She is one of my heroes. A great scientific mind, a noble and compassionate naturalist, she represents everything a good human being should be. Bless her! She opened my mind to the vital message of humans living in balance with nature. Thank you, Jane!
I noticed you addressed Dr. Goodall as mam. That was sweet and endearing, and another reason why I love your show. I suspect you're a man of substance, so I keep watching to see if you disappoint.
Best panel of all time! A new and improved Ronald Reagan, one of the funniest comedians of all time and a conservative who's actually somewhat bearable!
Being humble is such a magnificent thing, its a breath of fresh air to hear a big old star refer to his show as unwatchable when we all really know what he is capable of...
This panel was great, John Cleese was AWESOME nobody can top Monty Python. and Jane Goodall is brilliant. and Ron Reagan was amazing. Bill Maher is known for having the best guests on his show.
I dare say Ron Reagan seems like a guy you'd want to be friends with. Not because he's somebody you could go out and have a beer with, but because he's somebody who you could have an intelligent conversation with.
"[John Cleese] and Eric Idle are the Lennon and McCartney of comedy." Great to hear. Shame he can't admit Bernie Sanders is the Lenin of U.S. politics(in a good way).
One the funniest and most moving editions of Overtime ever. I am just off to the butchers now to buy a pig's head. I will ask for the eyes to be left in, so it will see me through the week. Thank you from Great Britain Stay calm and keep up the good work.
I think the Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul comparisons are completely unfair, just look at their voting records. Bernie has reached across the aisle many times to get things done in Washington. Ron Paul was strictly an idealogue, a crank who voted against everything. Ron Paul also never had this big of a lead over his party's establishment candidates as Bernie currently enjoys in the polls. Bernie has huge rallies and campaigns everywhere. Do people really think voters are showing up at Bernie's rallies and standing there for hours because they're anti-Clinton, not pro-Bernie? The Democratic Party is apparently a party that thinks government can help fix problems. Why wouldn't we support a candidate who believes that and lives it everyday? Why are we trying to be "Republican lite", cowering every time some flat-Earther calls us liberals or socialists? The Republicans say lets slash $2T from the social safety net and the Clinton side of the party says, "how about we cut $1T?" I'm not against compromise, but I thought elections were about choices!?
+route99 They're both known for their consistency, and I think that's maybe what invites the comparison. That being said, times have proven Bernie right, and Ron Paul wrong. +route99 I don't know about that. No one less than Barney Frank said Ron Paul was very easy to work with, and they collaborated together. Sure, he was quite strict about not doing anything that violated what he thought was outside of the Government's job, but if it was within that he didn't care about partisanship.
+route99 I think the dnc is little more than "well at least we're not the gop". Best of intentions and no follow through. Though it's hard to do the right thing when someone has the receipt for your ass.
+Angel Melendez I support Bernie too but his poll numbers have to massively increase in South Carolina, Nevada, and the rest of the following primary states to win the nomination. Hopefully after a couple of debates that will happen but it certainly might not.

I'm a conservative/libertarian voting for Rand Paul, but I respect Bernie Sanders for being an honest politician on the other side. When I heard the question asked to Maher, I thought that he would finally get some good air time talking about Bernie vs Hillary, and the key differences. But the way he shrugged it off wasn't even subtle. It's as if he really hates the idea of his hero Hilary Clinton being challenged. That's why he's always desperately defending her when it's obvious that she has lied.
+Dr. Logos so you support a known bigot who hates civil rights and wants each state to be as bigoted as it wants to be without Federal interference. Says so much about you.
silat13 All constitutionalists and libertarians oppose title 2 of the Civil Rights Act. It does not make them bigots. You can't ignore the 1st amendment when passing civil rights legislation. You don't have to be so combative btw.
Dr. Logos Actually I do have to be combative. Being a spineless Dem has gotten us nowhere. Funny how a Dem with spine gets called out but the reichwing has been combative for decades with the support of the media and most people. And it does make them bigots.
I had never seen, nor do I think, heard of this lady, and she is a genius. Do what religion did, but for a "good" "real" cause via all the children as they grow. But we must remember that children learn bad and false things from parents too.
Bernie is a good man and stands up for what he believes. He is a socialist and proud of it. I personally find nothing wrong with him being a socialist and I wish America would adopt some socialist ideas of Western European countries like Sweden. However, America is not ready for a confirmed socialist as their president. The GOP will have a field day with that label alone if Bernie Sanders gets the nomination for Dem. party. The GOP fear only one person and that's Hillary Clinton and the Clinton machine. That's why they make a big deal over stupid freaking emails.
One of these days America is going to have to grow up and stop hogging at the kid's table. Why it can't happen in 2016 is beyond me. I don't share your cynicism yet.
I want to hug Jane Goodall! I love her!
same here, lol. She is absolutely a brilliant person.
Amazing, eloquent!
She's a true hero in every sense of the word.
yes, what a sweet and intelligent lady
The gorillas get Jane...and we're stuck with S.E. Cupp among others...If there's a god he has a sense of humor.
Gotta love John Cleese, thank you John for all the hundreds of hours of laughter you've provided me over the years.
John Cleese: "This is so much better than television..."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
John Cleese and Jane Goodall in one Panel - that makes it the best Panel ever!
Really Love Jane Goodall and the many years she spent in protecting the wildlife and the environment.
Jane Goodall is much more poetic than I ever would have guessed.
+Despicably Irascible Rapscallion especially when she challenged bill to put his penis in the mouth of a dead orangutan. Poetic.
Claudia Octavia LOL! Ok, I guess not every moment was Shakespeare.
+Claudia Octavia Well, if we remember a season before, that he accused Trump of being an orangutan, then I would say she made it Politically Poetic...Coming this Fall on...
now that is poetic, well done
Jane Goodall should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize!
Wow, did you know when Reagan was president she did a show on how her chimps went to war…just when Reagan said war was natural….. it was from overfeeding them to get them to stay where she could observe them, which caused overpopulation…the real cause of wars. +Nolanlvr aye???
Yeah, I guess it was a weak reference. I remembered there being more than just Eric Idle being in the Rutles. Anyway, it sounded funny to me late last night. No offence taken.
Jane Goodall is a saint.
Yes she is!
She reminds me of Mags from Hunger Games
I came 5 yrs too late for this segment to be current yet was impressed by her comment, which remains relevant even at this late date
Agreed, she should be officially nominated for sainthood
I watch this episode many times because it has three of my favorite Earthlings - Ron, Jane and John.
This is great! When Jane Goodall speaks everyone goes quiet.
She is so charismatic! You can hear the audience itching to applaud her before she's even done speaking!
Real Time is one of the few comedic talk shows that I try very hard not to miss each week. Mr. Maher is exceptional as its host. My one request is that the overtime segment go to 15 minutes and all of the guest have to respond to at least one question! Just a suggestion for someone who loves the show!
I agree completely.
+Lawrence Murray Well said. I know they're tired, but it would be cool if each guest had a chance to have their say without interruption on one question each.
+Lawrence Murray hes a bit arrogant and a bit of a bigot sometimes
John Oliveris the guy who hitsd it on the head everytime ^
Really enjoyed the episode. Ron Reagan was hilarious, John Cleese was astoundingly brilliant (as always), and S.E. Cupp was even semi-intelligible and made good points. They even brought on a car guy who actually KNOWS about cars! To top it off, Jane Goodall! Wow! All in all, was a pretty brilliant episode.
Jane is such a sweetheart amongst these boorish comedians hahahah. I loved this dynamic, and she played along beautifully.
Jane Goodall is like the perfect grandmother figure. She's adorable and still smart as a whip.
Jane Goodall's lil'speech at the 7 and a half minute mark, awesome
I once walked through a doorway while Jane Goodall was passing in the opposite direction - we both happened to look up and into eachother's eyes at the same moment. I've never seen eyes as deep, soulful and kind before or since. An extraordinary woman!
I absolutely adore Jane and John. Two of the most amazingly creative people.
Real Time with Bill Maher 6:10 "This is so much better than television." SO TRUE!
i've rewatched this at least 50 times
something about the dynamic of the panel that made this very enjoyable
I love Jane Goodall! She is one of my heroes. A great scientific mind, a noble and compassionate naturalist, she represents everything a good human being should be.
Bless her! She opened my mind to the vital message of humans living in balance with nature. Thank you, Jane!
What an amazing clip. Dense with info from all over the place and absolutely off the charts hysterical. Jane: wow, John: wow, Ron: wow.
"Ma'am, I'm an American." lol
I'm not really sure whether that means "yes" I would or "no" I wouldn't in Bill Maher's answer lol
The best ever segment of Bill Maher
I noticed you addressed Dr. Goodall as mam. That was sweet and endearing, and another reason why I love your show. I suspect you're a man of substance, so I keep watching to see if you disappoint.
No question for SE Cupp. Hahaha
John Cleese is a living human treasure! I hope i get to see his show.
Wow at 3:50 at the conservative woman's reaction when Reagan's son said "he had his moments..."
It really is amazing to see his son speak so frankly about his dad. He certainly had his moments, for sure 😉
I'm crying it's so funny. Love Goodall, Cleese and Ron Reagan.
Best panel of all time!
A new and improved Ronald Reagan, one of the funniest comedians of all time and a conservative who's actually somewhat bearable!
I love how everyone is so precious around Jane Goodall, she only sounds posh, you know she's a Hard GurL. she gets the jokes without blushing.
Really nice cast for this show! Dr. Goodall and John Cleese are just great.
Being humble is such a magnificent thing, its a breath of fresh air to hear a big old star refer to his show as unwatchable when we all really know what he is capable of...
S.E. Cupp's reactions to Reagan talking 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow. Ron was fucking hilarious in this. Holy shit. I couldn't stop laughing when he was talking about his dad.
Maybe the best panel this show has ever had.
Wow, S.E. Cupp is strangely quiet while they're talking about Reagan.
Maher to Cleese- "I would walk about a thousand miles to see that show." What a nice compliment !!
This panel was great, John Cleese was AWESOME nobody can top Monty Python. and Jane Goodall is brilliant. and Ron Reagan was amazing. Bill Maher is known for having the best guests on his show.
Bill Feeling the Bern
This is so much better than television.
i have to say, this was one of the funniest overtime i have seeing
I forgot how funny John Cleese is. And it's nice to see Reagan, Jr. on the panel.
John Cleese and that legendary laugh.
Bill Maher and Jane Goodall: so cute! ☺️
You had a very nice, fun and intelligent panel. I had a great time listen to your discussions, thanks!
John C. keeping that sardonic British old school wit alive
I dare say Ron Reagan seems like a guy you'd want to be friends with. Not because he's somebody you could go out and have a beer with, but because he's somebody who you could have an intelligent conversation with.
"It's what we call a sit-down comedy" OMG I'M DYING!! (and I can't believe almost nobody laughed!)
One of the best things about this clip is that S.E. says little to nothing, and what she does say makes John Cleese laugh.
Jane Goodall is one great woman. And with class.
Ron Reagan is great. And Jane Goodall...LOVE HER!
It’s now 2019 and this comedy still holds up.
john & jane are legit the cutest little things on earth
This is an exceptionally good panel. He should bring these guys together again.
I was raised on Python. I guess that makes me demented or something. Nonsensical Brilliance. Thank you.
More of these guests would be cool on future episodes, this panel and guests was interesting and entertaining
What a panel. Gives you hope.
Jane Goodall is amazing women!
one of the best panels on bill maher
Jane Goodall, just an awesome human being
Beyond awesome!
This has to be the funniest Overtime ever.
Wow. Jane Goodall is still the nicest person I've ever seen on television.
Such a funny show when good people are on
Dr. Jane Goodall is awesome. Re: her "roots and shoots" program, there was a children's song by Raffi of the same name.
Yeah, I remember when Raffi made an Earth Album about environmentalism.
Jane, John and Ron. Fantastic
Jane Goodall.....the best person on BM show!!......ever!!
What an absolute dream team Cleese, Maher and my childhood hero The Great Jane Goodall
the banter here is brilliant
"[John Cleese] and Eric Idle are the Lennon and McCartney of comedy."
Great to hear. Shame he can't admit Bernie Sanders is the Lenin of U.S. politics(in a good way).
monokhem Ah, a historical revisionist. Carry on with your delusion..
+monokhem Only cos he died early...
monokhem No, no. I understand what it means perfectly.
Lenin wasn't the dictator Stalin was so it wasn't just Lenin that "let" Stalin have that power.
monokhem Stalin took the power after Lenin was dead. Lenin knew how bad Stalin was, and warned his government about Stalin.
+monokhem no one let Stalin have anything, he literally killed off the entire party until he was the only one left to assume power
I wish John Cleese and Jane Goodall had their own show together
Love her. Such a class act.
Jane Goodall should probably be seriously considered for Sainthood. You can sense her goodness and yes, even holiness.
John Cleese, true genius, smart, witty and funny...
I totally happy with she said and the way she explained the important story which I have the extra best idea including with the program
When you skip all the parts that don't include John Cleese...
SANDERS 2016!!! take that Bill.
One the funniest and most moving editions of Overtime ever.
I am just off to the butchers now to buy a pig's head.
I will ask for the eyes to be left in, so it will see me through the week.
Thank you from Great Britain
Stay calm and keep up the good work.
I could care less about celebrities and sports people. I'd give anything to meet JG!!
So if you "could care less" then you care at least a bit. That's why the saying goes "I could NOT care less" as a synonym for "I don't care at all".
I hope to get to John Cleeses' age. He just doesn't give a fuck.
+Jesus Vasquez I don't think he's ever given a fuck even as a young whippersnapper.
+FortisConscius Whippersnapper, wow! I thought I was the ONLY one who still used that word!!!
+Kathy Odom people call me old fashioned, I say "poppycock!"
Balderdash works well too!!!
+Kathy Odom You, and every person who has played the Witcher 3 =D
Please invite Jane Goodall and John Cleese back!
Great to see John Cleese !
Thank you Bill !
I love John Cleese's laugh
Likely the best show of the year... Certainly helped by the presence of the two Brits ;)
Oh, I like Jane Goodall. That was the most moving 30 second speech :)
Yep, I felt emotional.
That was one of the funniest episodes ever.
I think the Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul comparisons are completely unfair, just look at their voting records. Bernie has reached across the aisle many times to get things done in Washington. Ron Paul was strictly an idealogue, a crank who voted against everything.

Ronald Reagan Jr., Jane Goodall, John Cleese with Bill Maher! Amazing!
Man, SE Cupp has hit the wall. Woof, woof.
John Cleese and Eric idle.... I'M IN!!!!
stop dodging Bernie, bill.
you used to believe in good Democrats, why are you so burning for Hillary.
+Angel Melendez probably because she can actually win
He's a huge fan of Bill and wants another Clinton in office.

I'm a conservative/libertarian voting for Rand Paul, but I respect Bernie Sanders for being an honest politician on the other side. That's why he's always desperately defending her when it's obvious that she has lied.
rand could've been a contender if he hadn't sold his soul to the Kochs. He won't make it to the primary. Are you going to vote for Bernie then?
Sharon S How did he sell his soul to the Koch brothers?

Great overtime and episode
Imagine having John Cleese over to dinner some evening... what an entertainer.
