I play on tw server too... and this shiet doesn't happen there... but on NA server with my bm, this thing happens every time I start a boss fight. Cold storage being the hardest stutter.. Bns NA only cares about the cash you're spending on them like a blind fool.
I would assume that at those spots on the maps where we get the hard stutter are 'trigger points' on the map to refresh the distance log for the quests and that refresh is what causes the stutter.I just finished a brand new computer build with top of the line parts and noticed i was getting the same stutters in exactly the same places i was getting them on my old computer.it was driving me nuts!I shouldn't have any issues running B&S on my new PC so I knew it was something in the game at that point.I tested this method a bit and it did help quite a bit so thank you for posting this!
It does make sense. The game is divided into loadable chunks of zones ( i assume it's similar to D3 although people would assume that open world vs instance game handles loading differently ). And sorting by distance requires to run distance reculculations every time you run through those loadable chunks. Tracking also displays/marks enemies so it also involves some recalculations. This stutter is basically because game being 'locked' until the calculations are done which is basically the consequence when everything is run on same 'thread'. A better fix from developers would be to change the calculations to be done asynchronously - that way the distance calcluation and tracking would be somewhat delayed but it won't lock the game into microstutters all the time... And for players it won't matter when distances are calculated like 50 ms later lol. Average person would call this shitty development but there is a reason why there are ENTIRE BOOKS about threading. It's not exactly super hard but requires you to do extra work for all the logic that you write and you must be aware of how threading works and what are the consequences when you don't handle it properly.
I spent hours trying to do EVERYTHING imaginable for the game, and I decided to click this video and thought "wtf this is a stupid fix..." but. It. Fucking. Worked. What. The. Fuck.Thank you...
I wouldnt classify it as a fix as that would mean its totally gone, the game still has frame dips though not as dramatic. Same spot as yours, and dragon pulse in outlaw on max graphics 110s that dips into the 65s and disabling the quest track and it dips from 110 to the 85s. I wouldn't say its a fix but more of a stopgap, itll help but youll still notice minor stutters just like back then durning the lv50 days
Yup this fix removed all the stutter from my game, I learned about it from Reddit and I was surprised "you gotta be freaking kidding me this is the fix!! " 1 year of this bad stutter resolved by turning off quest tracking
there are any fix for the ui? when you look too many items fast in the inventory the game needs to load the descriptions and values very fast and that really screws the fps count , i want to know if theres a fix for that?
How come I don't even have check boxes by my quests? They're all listed, just no boxes for check marks. Weird. I still have this stutter problem real bad.
Absolutely Stoked for reddit user who found this and your Video. Thank you so much. Give the man a 'Subscribed' for this. The reddit user got Gold Reddit for it
Was wondering why I had this shit since VT patch. Turns out my quests were tracked. Before the patch I turned everything off because I wanted a clean UI. After the patch I didnt care much and couldnt figure out what caused all this shit xD
I dont know why i always come back to this game with all its performance issues, i think we all deserve a bns remaster, with better coding!
You hyped for that Engine Change?

also depends on the person but anywhere from sudden 2-8% dip in fps is a noticable stutter and the higher the dip the more intense the freeze.

Yeah. Everytime i enter basin. It stutters at certain locations. It was really aggrevating.

This is in Tera too, Tera UI cause slowdowns too. It's surprising but BNS UI is more optimized then Tera lol

The funny Thing is, that i have this stutter with my BD, but not with my WL.
But WL seems to Crash more in 6vs6.
This actualy works, i wasnt playing this game cause of the stuttering, cant believe something soo weird fixes it
Spaghetti coding at its finest
I just tested this cause i was getting super annoyed and I can't believe it fucking worked lol
I'm glad I found your video. I nearly wanted to deinstall the game because of this :D
It seems even KR server has the same problem.
