Absolute chills watching this again, as a proud Canadian. While I was watching it live, didn't notice Kamal Miller crying. Dude put the shift of his life in after that. Should have been the MOTM, but alas. What a memory, what a performance, and what a day we will never forget.
It's a dream for all of us to hear our national anthem before a World Cup match. For Kamal Miller, getting to be a part of it means more than we can ever know.
I'm born and raised in Toronto and this is my first time seeing team Canada sing our national anthem at a World Cup 🇨🇦 This was such a special moment 🥹🙏
@@imwinningthisone7613 Canadian is a nationality not an ethnicity, everyone is an immigrant here except for the aboriginal peoples. Educate yourself before you comment you reek of shit.
Amazing after 36 years, the anthem returns to the World Cup. Shout out to Canada’s head coach John Herdman, he’s not even Canadian and he’s singing along. Respect 👏👏
God, there isn't a day that goes by without me having goosebumps thinking about this moment. I shared tears with Kamal Miller that day, as did a lot of people. Belting out O Canada before the game, everyone in the pub with scarves in the air, really showed the potential this sprt has in Canada. What a day.
Mexican here, canadians should be proud no matter what, they play great and have a great generation of players, unfortunately Belgium is a top team, looking forward for Canada in this WC. 🇲🇽🇨🇦
Seeing this past World Cup made me realize how much I love the anthems. Not just my own. But the anthem of at least most of the countries. There’s something about a song that actually means something sang by thousands of people at the same time. Every country man and woman deserves nothing less than absolute pride when they sing their song. For the briefest of moments I believe that a country that sings their anthem with so many people and with so much passion becomes the greatest country in the world for as long as the song lasts.
I remember watching this special moment as a proud Canadian from Gator Ted’s Tap and Grill in Burlington, Ontario, and I’ll never forget how proud I was in this moment. With complete patriotism and love for country beaming from my smiling face, whilst seeking to lead the restaurant in singing alongside these brave and tenacious group of men who put in an incredible performance against Belgium, watching this moment again brings me right back to that special and historical moment. There are only few times I’ve been prouder to be a Canadian, and this one is special since this is my first World Cup with Canada participating. No matter what happens from here on out, this moment was special and I’ll never forget it. Come on boys, continue to make us proud!!!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Very disapointed with the final result, Canada deserved the victory🇨🇦 but they will have more chances in the next match💪🏼 Brazilian rooting for you Canada boys 🇧🇷🤝🇨🇦
Massive respect from Scotland to Canada. Such a beautiful national and passionate anthem. So unlucky to not get anything from this game but cant wait to get behind you for the next 2 games.
As a panamanian I know this moment was so special for my canadian friends...last world cup my country anthem was played for the first time in history, and for Canada this means like the first time since 1986
I was lucky enough to be in Qatar for all 3 of Canadas games. This was one of the proudest moments of my life, signing this beautiful anthem with tears running down my face. I will never forget my two weeks in Qatar, Football is a very special sport and I hope it never dies.🇨🇦❤️
O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command.* With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North, strong and free! @@Flnze I'm aware. I will never sing that ridiculous gender neutral version when the original had nothing to do with gender. The line "true patriot love in all thy sons command" is a line that means Canada commands true patriot love in all of her sons that fought for her, yet they changed the beauty of that line to "in all of us command" simply to be "inclusive", even though the people who wanted this change don't even love this country, and clearly don't exemplify this true patriot love that is supposed to be "in all of us". I don't give a fuck what some snowflake has to say about what this countries anthem should be, when they most likely are someone who posts on Twitter about how we need to mourn on Canada Day instead of celebrate because of all the injustices previous generations dished out. People who sing in all thy sons command are people who loved this country beforehand, and loved what it stood for, and don't sit there trying to destroy the foundation and moral principles of what made this country one of the greatest of all time.

Hey, Belgian here. I have to say I never heard O Canada before, and I instantly got hooked by it before this match, but also by the fact that all players were singing, and even the coach who is not even Canadian, not to mention the spectators, all that gave me chills. Then you compare this to Belgium anthem, it's fine and I like it, nothing special, but half of the players don't care about singing it, it's like they just don't want to play for us (like KDB). Thank you for your anthem Canada, and about the match, you should've won it, we truly discovered a really happy and brave team, you showed way more enthusiam and fighting spirit than our lazy sluggish team. Respect!
