I was thinking... you can actually survive to this... If you jump in the lowest part of the wave you have more stability, and you need to contrast less speed compared to what happens to you if you are in a straight position (for exemple if you run in the other way): the speed of the wave is much less near the ground and is basically zero where it touches it, also we have a laminar flux near the ground and not a turbolent one, so we have much more control and stability. It's very important (for more idrodinamicity) to stay stomach down and the head in the direction of the wave. With this we can endure the power and the speed of the wave. The main problem is with the pressure: every 10 m of water the pressure increases of 1 bar (almost the same of 1 atm), if the wave is 80m tall that means that we have to endure in total 9 times the normal atmosferic pressure, (it's a bit less if we use the Bernoulli principle but the result doesn't change in a very significative way). It doesen't seems too much but the main problem is not the weight of water itself, but the oxigen that can be stored in your lungs. When you are outside water, the air in your lungs is at 1 bar pressure (so the same of the atmosferic one), but when you jump in to the wave the pressure outside your lungs is 9 times grater, so they will shrink and will be unable to work, unless we have a mask with oxigen: the main problem is that the oxigen distribution increase is gradual, so we will not effectively breathing for the first seconds, but after that initial shock we should be fine(on a side note: the air tank can't be on our back so it needs to be on one of the sides or (the best option in my opinion) between the legs). We need to wait a bit in that position (we need the wave to completely surpass us), so the air dispenser is not only usefull but indispensable. Then we can get to the surface, unfortunatly we can't get directly with vertical swimming but we need to do some sort of oblique swimming: unfortunately it will require several minutes, and our swimming peace needs to be constant, so the air consumption will drammatically increase (in fact it's very important to slow down your own breath during the first phase :where you are on the ground, so you can have more oxigen for later and also more energy). Oh I almost forgot... we need a mask that cover and pressurize our entire head (or our eardrums will explode, and we will lose conciousness).
