Played this song on my turntable over and over again, a wonderful Era to grow up in, born in 1955. I hope to see Ronnie Rice in heaven with his big puppy dog eyes!
It was my song in Jr. high. I played piano and violin both of which are prominent. Whatever the reason, I am propelled back there every time I play it.
My uncle joined the army in the early 70s and left a stack of 45s at our house. I was probably 6 at the time. All I had to listen to for the next few years at least on my record player. This song became a favorite of mine.Along with another obscure song shades of green by flaming ember. check it out. Been heavily in to music ever since. Still both in my top 10 songs of all-time.Must of became ingrained in me. Everyone I know never ever heard of ether one. What a shame.
My older brother had these 45's. I was 8 years old in 1968. the Sixties had the best love, happy and heartbreak ballads like New Colony Six, Neon Philharmonic, Jay & The Americans, Spanky & Our Gang, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Fifth Dimensión, Box Tops, The Rascals, Sandpipers, Classic's IV, Bee Gees, The Sunshine Company, Donovan, etc. there is not enough room to here to show all the songs not to mention the great instrumentals Thanks for posting.
They had another beautiful song called "Never Be Lonely" that slipped thru the top 40 cracks and never got the play it deserved. You Tube has it, look it up. Trust me, only NC6 could get it just perfect.
Spencer Zick I'm with you meadan100! Damn.....it! I don't understand why it's not on iTunes. But I do come back to youtube to listen to this beautiful song and read the comments and replies. They tug at one's heart. Same with "I Will Always Think About You".
The beauty of the love and heartbreak about things that could have been but did not. Love always remembers especially when a heart is broken. Thank you for sharing❤️🦋
if you climb the mountain only ONCE you still climbed it. You've still done what few others will ever do. Respect to New Colony 6, must have been a wonderful time for them.
I miss the days when beautiful pop songs like this were made.

I am almost 69 and the last time until today I heard this song was when I was 14 when it came out on the radio in 1968 55 years ago

A timeless classic ... I played this on-the-air when I worked 8pm-11pm as a D.J. for KAAY (Little Rock) 1974-76.

Mucho underrated tune
For Sierra, I love you ❤
Great story the New Colony 6. Hey, even if you "only" break thru once,
you still broke thru. Not one to dog what/who Cynics call "One-Hit Wonders."
