Its Ute name was Tava, "Mountain of the Sun," and was sacred to the Tabeguache band, "People of Sun Mountain." I grew up with the view everyday and didn't know its real name until just a few years ago. More people should know.

Grew up in CS and Pikes Peak was my front yard. It’s a beautiful mountain. Now I’m hearing some idiots want to change the name.

I've been all over Colorado. Colorado is so beautiful I live in Cincy oh. I would move there if I could take my family. Stayed at the bottom of pikes peak in Colorado springs. Just stunningly beautiful. They landscape with boulders and rocks where we have mulch. I just love it. We visited the park. Didn't go real far in but still loved it!

I lived on the peak in 1980 for 3 weeks as a test subject for the United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM). It was quite an experience.

Was it in the Army shack at the top? I was at the peak just two months ago and noticed a small building with signs designating as an Army installation.

I'm watching this after discovering that Zebulon Pike is my 5th cousin on my Grandma's side, I was really surprised cuz I'm not even American. My family basically went to America nearly 300 years ago and left about 150 years ago and came here to Great Britain.

    Good morning Cliff Langston,
I have had the very good fortune to start reading Emmet FOX in 2003, a truly remarquable Gentleman, Harmony builder and Pionner of both South - North America and around the World. He has really introduced me to the United States of America and taught me most everything I've come to know about ranches, country music, among them Gold rush and Pikes peak (or bust).
I have read "Emmet FOX Golden keys to successful living" written by Herman WOLHORN his close associate.
And I wanna thank you naturally Cliff for the superb photographs and History work you are sharing with us

Thanks for sharing. Had a dream I was in a forest watching people and animals get along. I was in an open cabin or something. At the very end I heard “Tava Kata, or “Tava Chata” and knew it was something to do with an indigenous tribe. On a search for any meaning if any, dreams are strange.

Hey Starius. Good to hear from you! I’ve heard other youtubers complain about this issue also. Apparently their subscribers weren’t receiving notifications regardless of their settings. The only thing I’d know to check is whether your bell settings are on “always notify” or “occasionally notify.” If that’s correct for you already, then I’m not sure. We’re ultimately at the mercy of the UA-cam gods. 😂
