Teófilo Trujillo was my great great grandfather and Pedro Trujillo was my great grandfather. I want to thank all of the contributors who put this documentation together of the Trujillo family. My family is grateful.
What a wonderfully rich heritage you have. This must have been fun for your family to watch. I live in Pagosa Springs, CO and love the history of the original Spanish land grant ranches here.
@10:00 The show a picture of the 1860's of a Trujillo man with boy on either side of him. Have you seen or heard of this picture before. It is true/real of your ancestors?
As a native, I always wonder at the great history of our state, such rich cultural roots here. Thank you for this u-tube channel learn something new all the time!!!🙆♀️🙅♀️🖖
I absolutely love Rocky mountain pbs and also everyone that reads this should also check out the Colorado Matters podcast to have current news and also the rich history from UA-cam channels like this gem
I'm gonna watch all of them pertaining to Colorado right now as I have family living & raising their young there. Kids would enjoy learning this about where they live. I was amazed by how much Indian info. has come in and changed all the pink male fakery that was put into destroying an entire nation, many on this continent and claiming it's all pink people who were here first.
That japanese guy was fenomenal....he originally wanted to exploit the area, but was intelligent enough to see it's beauty and decide to preserve it. Or maybe that land is enchanted.
Ive taken a few geology classes in the state of CO We had a field trip to the dunes No geologist ive spoken to has the same theory of how the sand got there . Its a mystery still
i had a good friend that was from the san luis valley, left in the late '60's. she never seemed aware of this history. her family were part of a mormon incursion into the valley that happened a bit later, i think.
I believe you are corect. The town was orginally named 'Manzanares', then renamed Garcia when the post office was established. Garcia sits right on the Colorado, New Mexico border.
My senior drill instructor at PI in 1969 last day of Boot camp we were allowed to ask I asked him where he was from he said Colorado his name is Garcia
They go home disturb ancestors when legislation needs to see ancestors feelings, theyll still be upset but love you anyway, hard decisions have to be met, messengers The Saints Air
The sized both of us up and then hid in the cabin, wander Alice, children Jasmine, Cabin was unknown thats why they hide, dont know how you feel about us after what ancestors did, adjusting to levels of pain, peer pressure, and uncomfortable decisions

I’m sure you are proud of the role you’re family played in the history of this land. Do you still live in the area?

My favorite, most surreal place in Colorado.
Lived all my 60+ years in Colorado and yet to see the dunes.
I will be 80 this year and too I have not seen the fines.
Very interesting! Thanks much for all of that:)

Thanks for the great informative video.
I have family roots in the SLV & just inherited some land down there. I hope to find some of my mother's relatives after I move down there next year!
Its a very intriguing place
Ive visited many times
I love the area, the geology and the UFO ology 🤓
Thanks for sharing.
Future generations will be able to make Time Machines so they can go back and observe.
Misleading tile. Very little to do with the sandunes

It is enchanted! Living in the SLV is magical.
I don't see them but they are there, peace
Saw many a western about range wars! Yikes!

I believe the town of Garcia is the oldest town in Colorado.
It is! San Luis is the oldest incorporated town. 😉

You all get so far off the title of the video. I thought this was about the sand dunes
Appointments all over, keeps the bandwagon rolling
Development time, gas levels get lowered

My children daycare, they didnt want to eat with us, he didnt like certain textures, trying new things and change is uncomfortable and can be scary

So, did the natives die out?
No. The Diné (Navajo) & Ute, along with the other Tribes were run off to Reservations. There are many Indigenous People here in our beautiful Valley.
They use this ghost when hands are far and wide to pull us close someone always dies
If I cant say a word, Ill just wave my hands, vibration in air
Vibration at sides, vibrations all around us
I haven't been there yet but it calls me, i wonder. My dad has property there and he never told me. Leave it alone
Come visit! 😊
I recall a white guy complaining of this woman - she was of one of the original settlers of Colorado :)
The video is interesting enough, but it unfortunately uses the racist pejorative "anglo" egregiously.
No sand machines allowed at these dunes. What a waste.
Because they would be flattened in short time. It's already happened to other dunes!
The ultimate sand machine, the wind, is here and doing fine.
Sounds like the Japanese guy made a stop in Crestone & may have got a hold of some LSD & changed his mind on building a resort.
