I love your budget was initially $1000 because it’s nice to finally relate to an apartment hunter not having an insane budget. My budget was $900 or less but I’m in Chicago and was not only looking downtown, and I was sticking to my budget. I had too. By luck, a family friend had a building with a 2 bedroom for $900 and a bonus room that worked out. Apartment hunting is just as stressful as house hunting. 😫
What you said is true. We were going around La Crescenta for apartment viewings when we came across this apartment we’re living in right now. There was not even a vacancy sign outside, just the name of the property management company and their ofc number. I just felt compelled to call the number to check, and turns out they did have an apartment available! The manager let us tour the apartment right away since there were construction people doing some work anyway and it was open. We fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it! It had big windows so lots of natural light, lots of storage (so many linen cabinets!) and it came with 2 parking slots. No units above and below us, we have fantastic views of the mountains, and the neighborhood is very quiet. The previous tenant lived here for 20yrs - that’s already a good indication that the place is nice. We really lucked out on this one! ☺️ So yes, don’t just rely on the apps, just drive around the neighborhood, you will find more that way. 😊

I used to live in Los Angeles, CA decades ago. When I graduated from high school, there were apartments available from $300 to $500 a month. But I still couldn't afford the rent if I had a full time minimum wage job. I lived with my parents for several years and then I joined the U.S. Army. Now, you'd be lucky to live anywhere in Los Angeles for $1000 a month---maybe in downtown or in a neighborhood where you have to dodge bullets on your way home from work. There are places where they offer a dorm room and a shared bathroom for $500 to $800 a month. The landlords can pretty much charge whatever they want because there's a housing shortage and politicians like Gavin Newsom will make sure it stays that way with all the strict regulations builders are subjected to before they build new apartments and houses in California.

For public transit it’s best to live in Downtown LA or Westlake MacArthur Park.
Do you still have the list because I think we have the same budget lol
I know I’m really young but I have my mind set on the future I’m from the Caribbean and wanna move America when I’m 18 but looking at the apartments they are way to expensive but this really help tho tysm!🤧😀
I’m glad this was helpful! I’d recommend looking at cities in the USA that are more affordable like Las Vegas (that’s where I’m originally from) or Austin! People say Austin’s culture is similar to LA
@@ItsTylerChanel what brought you to la?
I enjoyed your video. 😄 How are you liking L.A. ?
I love LA!!! Especially the food lol
@@ItsTylerChanel are you still in the same place you originally got? How’re you liking la?
How long took u to find a place?
Hi! did you have a job there before moving
Hi! Great question! Yes, my job in Vegas transferred me to the Los Angeles branch.
People from LA have to look for cheap apartments because everyone else is moving into LA
You are great 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for the kind words 💚
You made the right choice. Roomates are horrible
how are you able to pay for your apartment? I’m hoping to move to LA When I’m older 🥰
I work a 9-5 job so I have consistent income to pay for the apartment ☺️ I hope you can move here one day
The struggle real!!
True!!! 😅😩
Did you have to do a credit check? I'm really trying not to do that.
I think it depends on the apartment. I would say be ready for a credit check just in case. I remember doing a background check, but I don't remember if my apartment ran credit or not.
Yes ! I had a 790 ! Credit score and 3 years of stable income with every single physical paycheck stubs I’ve ever gotten and I still got denied.
@@zairavega420 that’s crazyyyyyy! I got approved with a lower credit score, God is good. I think it depends on the apartment management.
Great tips! What if you have excellent credit, but no job?
Hi! Unfortunately I’m not sure about this. I think it depends on the apartment.
I would suggest asking the leasing desk or the landlord before viewing the property
My budget for rent is 1600 but I cant find anything good thats not in someones backyard
Omg so true! My unit is in someone’s backyard
Do you know if the apartments in LA work with people moving out of state with no job reference? What do you show for proof of income or qualifying for an apartment. I hope you get back with me
😊
Hi!! Unfortunately I’m not sure. I think you might have to show bank statements to show you have the funds.
Wow you got your current apartment for $1200? That’s a deal !
Yes!! It was a great deal for all of the amenities! 💚💚💚💚
Just got my new apartment here in Los Angeles also . I'm so happy i really love it and I'm glad. I can refer you to the agent that helped me got mine if you're interested

How much is rent if you rent with a roommate?
It depends! But I’d say about $800
I want to move from L.A to Vegas, cheaper there and bigger space even a house for the same price an apt here
I’m still shocked that Vegas prices have skyrocketed! It really is the same price now
True I'm from Vegas and will be moving back to L.A in March. At least L.A has the pay scale and Vegas don't be paying.

Hi I'm actually currently on the hunt for an apartment in LA. I'm moving from Texas and could use any help available. How do you like the area you live in?
@@brittneycunningham1411 did you ever make the move from Texas?
@@georgekelly5987 I spent a week out there looking for an apartment but nothing felt right. Honestly being there looking to become a resident didn't feel as good as just being a tourist. I honestly felt like I wasn't going to find the peace that I was looking for in my life there at that time .
can anyone help me out i need to move out in the next 3 months and haven’t ever lived on my own been with family

Lol! My rent has gone up to $1500 since filming this
@@ItsTylerChanel do you mind sharing the area. I’m reading servers areas are sketchy, I’m from NY, so I’m used to weird but would love some area recommendations.
Never gonna find that
I live in Long Beach, Fontana, and Yucaipa… I don’t want to live with anyone. Lol. People pay so much money to roommate in Cali when they can live alone. I don’t want to live with anyone and their habits and not being clean.
Hello!
Do you need a roommate?
Let me know...I will be attending LATTC...and working in DTLA!
Long Beach is expensive :( unless you want to live in a pretty bad neighborhood
Hi! I'm looking to live short-term in LA for a summer internship if anyone knows any furnished apartment complexes I would appreciate the help🥺🥺under 1200!
