Also the cicadas are so loud!! That’s what I always think reminds me of holiday that sound. Looks really beautiful! I hope to visit one day. Thanks for showing us so we can “travel” with you
Delphi is truly a magical place! Very spiritual. My first time in Delphi was 28 years ago. The only thing I recall being different is there wasn't as many limitations to sites or closed areas. Thank you for your lovely video and bring back so many wonderful memories!
It is so magical. I think they are trying to protect more things now. But I didn’t feel like I missed much. I could see the gymnasium from the road. You’re welcome!
Tiffany, this was absolutely amazing, I feel quite emotional after watching this. Delphi has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. Thank you for sharing your journey, it has certainly been very helpful as we hope to get there in November.
Thank you so much Marie! I am so happy you enjoyed it. Delphi is a magical place. I am sure you can go in November. It didn't take very long at all and if needed, you could just spend one night there.
great video. thank you. i love stuff this old. in australia the oldest things are about 250 yrs ago. to see history like this is amazing. so well described and filmed too
Thank you for a beautiful video! I've just discovered your channel and love it! I've wanted to go to Greece for a long time and this is one of the many sites I have on my list. Thanks for sharing!
I went to Delphi around 4 weeks ago now and am watching this video on your recommendation. Delphi is an amazing, atmospheric place! I totally agree with getting there early. While I was just finishing my visit to the main site the tourist buses were arriving in numbers and there were a lot of people just entering the site. I stayed in Itea for 5 days and it's well worth a visit. I stayed in an apartment overlooking the sea. The seafront area is really nice with lots of restaurants and cafes, etc. The best restaurant I found is actually up one of the side streets called Papalexandri. The restaurant is called Mageireion. They cook traditional mayirefta dishes and they are delicious. You can actually eat inside or take away or they deliver if you are not too far. Prices were very reasonable and the food was incredible. The big tourist trap restaurant in Itea is Scala. They bring bus loads of people there who have just been to Delphi or Galaxidi. The local people who I spoke with said to avoid Scala as there are much better and cheaper options in the town.
@@agirlandherpassport will I need a self covid test or any test for a layover in Athens from santorini? With all the media hype and false news .. your videos really does clarify a lot of confusions.
I doubt it. Your test to get may still be valid. It wouldn’t be a self test but there is a lab in the airport. Just make sure your test will still be valid. Hope that helps.
I Love Delphi; it’s really a magical setting. The last time I was there was 15 years ago; it’s on my list for when I finally return to Greece next summer. Thanks for sharing your visit with us. Stay safe.
Love it!! beautiful scenery and wonderful videography!! I know mom and dad took my brother and me to Delphi, but I was only 3 so I don't remember it...so Delphi is on my weekend excursion list once I move to Athens!! Well done and thank you for sharing!
I’m in Delphi now passport girl . Arrived yesterday and will head for the archeological site soon. I’ve got a few days here my last place before heading back to Athens and then the long way back to Australia
I LOVE the ancient sites in Greece and I can't wait to visit to experience it for myself. I was wondering if you'd be open to traveling Greece together whenever I'm there and of course if you'd have the time and interest. Since you're obviously experienced in getting around and I'd be more comfortable traveling with someone that knows the country, rather than alone. (I'm always afraid of traveling to unknown places alone😅). Just a question! Definitely not an obligation. BTW! What camera do you use?? The quality is immaculate! And I could use some advice or a few suggestions myself because I've been wanting to start vlogging as well.
I don't usually travel with other people as it tends to not go well. I also work while traveling and that means I can't sightsee as much as most people. It might seem like I am traveling all the time but I don't always show the working bits. I use a GoPro most of the time. Occasionally I film on my phone or my Sony a7rII. I have a list in the description of each video if you want more details.
We’re going to Delphi next week, I so enjoyed your video that I decided to go. Do you recommend the hotel you stayed at? It looked very nice 👌 if you recommend it, please let me know the name so I can book it in advance. So excited to go!!! 😊
There is a link but I will put it here too. It’s called the Hermes Hotel. It was nice. Not anything luxurious but clean and amazing views. www.booking.com/hotel/gr/hermes-delphi.en-gb.html?aid=1361192;sid=3f057a6dc6330132ef0939a31750d2d0;group_adults=2&keep_landing=1&no_rooms=1&sb_price_type=total&type=total&. Hope you love Delphi as much as I did.
Hello wow thankyou LOVED this :) okay so when you arrived in Delphi by Bus did you walk to your accommodation if so how long did it take or if by taxi /bus easy to get? would you recommend the hotel.. are all the sights doable in a day to get the bus back to Athens if i decided to go just for the day i really really want to see all, especially Tholos the circle! i Don't mind missing the museum ill be going in April .. love, light and astral hugs x
Thank you so much. I walked. It was about five minutes. Delphi is really small so you should be able to walk everywhere. I don’t know the bus schedule so not it’s possible especially in April which is still the off season. Keep in mind Orthodox Easter is April 16 so everything will be closed that Sunday and Monday. The bus schedule will also be different for the holiday. Not sure if that when you are coming but I need to mention it.
@@agirlandherpassport THANKYOU im super excited!!! yes anno my birthday is the 15th so was wanting to be in Delphi for then looks like it will be a day trip but you have inspired me to know it is now possible .. ohh where did you get off the bus when you arrived for accomadation? . keep your soul an spirit free yassss!!
I would recommend visiting Delphi with a good tour guide. So much of the incredible history of the location is missed when you just visit and read the signs. As so many of the commenters have stated, it is a magical place. It's worth paying to have a tour guide give you the historical context to make the many parts of the historical site make sense and have relevance. This video tour, while good, misses the vast majority of the import information about the site.
Gorgeous..Thanks for sharing
Thanks. You’re welcome!
