All of the penetration values are just completely made up. Some tanks in Wot can even fire shells that they never could in real life. Also almost every tank in Wot is completely out of proportions
It's not. Way too simplistic. Incorrect angle penetration, apart from modern ones, shells do not penetrate in straight lines at angles. Normalisation calculation is a joke.

Yes, the water would protect the tank from HEAT shots, however, over time the water would run out, and you'd be left with a heavier than average spaced armor, 30 Tons is ideal, something like 33 or 32 is more realistic, even then, just a well placed shot into a lower part of the tank would render it vulnerable. Even then, modern APFSDS rounds would have no problem penetrating it, it just sounds a bit impractical to me
Or, you know... Change 3-5-7 into 5-5-5. Everyone would have an equal chance, instead of 3 people farming half a team. 5-5-5 would mean that if anything happened to one or two of the top tier tanks, there would be more to balance it out. Since 3-5-7 is so bad, you should give it a go.

Just a bunch of nonsense. What it boils down to is how much money you spend in game. The more stuff you buy the better you RNG is. Its literally that simple. 99% of the time aim for the lower glasis plate or the capola on the turret or get them broadside. Anything else expect a ricochet, bounced or deflected shot. This is a play to win game. The more you buy the better your RNG is period.

The burning DU adds the melting and burning armor of the hole to the damage. It is only slightly radioactive.

Speed is important when firing to a fast and distant tank, when shooting slow tanks or close tanks it is not important, I think that speed and penetration are calculated differently.
I want to see the turret ring after m26 takes that giant shell to the mantlet... Really if that tank had any weapon-subsystems intact after "non-penetrating" hit like that would be surprising.
German late tanks didnt have a good mixture of metal alloys , as they were short on materials , they made mistery mixes and you couldn't know how good it was.

How important is the speed of the shell? It is included in penetration? what about density of air and wind strikes?
