HOW TO OVERTAKE IN KARTING (TUTORIAL)
In today's video I explain three overtaking maneuvers which you can perform in rental karts!

Common one seen at my local track is for beginners - wait for a red flag and send it past half the field before noticing. Works every time.
😂😂
switchback is my fav, very satisfying if done right. divebomb can black flag you its too risky, especially if your against people who just want to have fun and dont really know what to do if someone does a overtaking maneuver on them
1:04 - beautiful move. The honey badger would be proud
I stick to the racing line and wait for an opportunity, but I'm tailgaiting to add pressure and force them to overshoot
these big open air tracks look awesome! Only been karting indoors
Divebomb is soooo risky in rental karting. Basically, you should expect that they will never leave you space or even be aware of you. So high chance you will be pushed back straight into the corner barrier at your full speed
Im a new driver and when i did the switch back perfectly, everybody started 👏
My way to overtake is to intimidate the driver in front. A lot of inexperienced drivers won't have the audacity to go fast in the corner so I just tailgate them to force them to overshoot. I might have the weight disadvantages but I have so much commitment on corners that a lot of them have no choice but to let me pass.
When getting dive bombed since it's a desperate overtake, don't consede the position hold your line and give them room but don't back of.they will bump you and be surprised you weren't shaken and you have the inside to the next corner hopefully and you push them outside like they did you on the dive bomb
switchback is so clean
The DiveBomb is my absolutely favourite technique
I like the (fullthrottle n pray) maneuver.
They call me the divebomb Guy at my local go karting place
Probably not a good nickname since if you do it every time its easy to defend against. You probably go hard on the inside and bump them
@@larsvandewouw55 because of this nickname, i do my best to vary and make as different overtakes as possible. For me racing pleasure is the most important and bc my local track is a high speed circuit i want to avoid contacts as much as possible. Having fun and being nice is more important for me than bumping everyone
@@arthurledoux2337 Sounds like your telling the truth. I love high speed tracks with fast corners, where's it at?
They call me salim at my local place
@@striker8405 😂😂
I usually do the outside since I don't struggle with finding grip or oversteering
Gotta be the good old switchback for me!
My favourite overtake technique is to get a better speed in a corner and when we get to a straight, I just activate the “human drs” and overtake them haha
Haha, that’s an awesome technique 🙌
What do you do when dealing with the agro noobs who both suck at driving and constantly look back at you to block your every attempt to pass? SO frustrating but I haven't found a good way to manage that. So annoying when they singlehandedly just wreck your lap times.
My favorite is the switchback.
I wait for the mistake and if he makes no mistakes look and wait for.the dive bomb on the second to last lap
Divebomb is my fav lol
Switch back has my preference.
It's the cleanest over take
Hey, what track is all of this footage taken in? I really want to check it out to further mt experience
I like this
Make a part 2 the next time when you go and best him up
1:08 - on my track, this move is considered illegal and results in penalty points. It's only legal if you are in front on the apex. On the video, you were not.
Dive bomb is the most desperate clean but dirty overtake in comparison with punting and crashing someone out karting is super aggressive .
@@aaronflores21af again, divebombing is clean when you are relatively close to your opponent which allows you to reach the apex first. This video contains a bad example, that's it.
Where is this track? It’s beautiful😭😭

Divebomb is literaly going to have red flag on rental karting, too dangerous
Dive bomb is a desperate menuver usually bc you don't make mistakes and you are not defending the inside they end up pushing you outside and I recommend to hold firm don't let them take.you easy give them room but don't back down they will hit you and know they made a mistake when you push them wide next corner when you have the inside just like they forced you to do if you back off you seem week if you hold your ground he takes both of you out and hopefully you spin straight and still have a chances
@@aaronflores21afyeah but for rental karting, you can't know what people will do
What is the track name?
Lusail Karting Track 🇶🇦
divebomb
