    Surefire will last a lifetime. And if not, customer service will help you out. Never had an issue with any Surefire flashlight. I have the tactician, EDCL2T, and Fury DFT. Not one problem with any of them over 2 years.

    Excellent flashlight as other Surefires are too. As far as lumens go, anything above 600 for an EDC or dresser light is useless. Six hundred lumens will blind your attacker. 1500 lumens will blind you and your attacker. Try it in a dark room and see, or not. Candela is what matters at that point, not lumens. Additionally, Surefire lights are tops in quality.

    I was a big Surefire fan boy back in the day. I’ve had the G2X, E1D, E2D, EDCL1T, E1B, EDCL2T, Tactician etc.. since I’ve branched out to Olight, Foursevens, Fenix, etc and I will say this, these other brands have their place in the flashlight edc world. However, I’ll say Surefire is very reliable and pretty much bombproof. The lack of user interface makes it a good tactical light, also their customer service is second to none. For serious/tactical use, Surefire no doubt. I feel like my Olight Warrior Mini will break if I was to accidentally drop it a few times. I don’t feel that way with my E1D.

      Thanks for sharing. The main reason a wanted a surefire was, like you said, because of the simple interface and quality customer service. If I ever get into flashlights more I will probably branch out into more complex and cool brands. Thanks for watching

    Olight runtimes suck

  • @David-fp7yc
    @David-fp7yc 3 роки тому +1

    Why would you choose the EDCL1-T over the 6PX Pro?
    The 6PX Pro has 600 lumens and 15 lumens duel output, runtimes are similar, and is cheaper about $95-$100.

    Does that light have enough candela to actually be useful in a heated situation? Considering not everyone lives in a place you can carry sometimes we are sadly forced to rely on these, so answer with that in mind 🤔 I've been on the fence about this but I'm not sure how bright 9k candela really is, or wide with the 500 lumens but I want to assume alot? While I am also being drawn to modlite okw, 600 lumen so similar spread, but with 67k candela, way more then the 9k candela of the aviator. But then that light has a few reports of its light just dying randomly, while rare it's kind of troubling to worry about having it fail on me one day if I get a dud when I really need it.

      My bad I thought this was the aviator as I was looking for aviators this video popped up first and without reading I clicked cuz it looked the same, but it's a different model haha 🤦🏻

      Everyone would (buy American) if American companies would not be so greedy and stop acting like everyone has a disposable income..whether it's flashlights or knives it's ridiculous what American manufactures charge..I carry a $30 klarus mi7 ive used for going on 8 years ..I carry a $40 cold steel folder i would love to buy american knives and flashlights..im patriotic as they come just not well off and all these buy american concepts are a nice thought..but not realistic.

    I am torn between the EDCL2-T and EDCL1-T.. they are around the same price. (Sad that a year ago you could pick the 1 up for $100 sometimes!) I feel the 1 will be more comfortable but that price hurts knowing the 2 is more light for the same price.. what to do…

    This is a great light I carry one in my left pocket 24/7. I will say that Modlite has taken the title for best lights at this point. I keep a PLHV2 on my duty belt for work.
    Also, be wary of Lumens as a metric. Candela is the real metric to look at.

    just a heads up, I believe your Surefire is a fake. the letter “G” looks to be a different font. the edges of the 6 indents near the pocket clip should have soft edges. yours have sharp edges.

    • @itsaknifestyle8482
      @itsaknifestyle8482  2 роки тому +1

      I did some research and I’m almost positive it is real. The 6 indents are smoothed down on mine, and from what I can tell, the G looks to be the same font. I tried to find clones of this flashlight online and I can’t. I also bought this from Surefire’s store on Amazon.

      I live near Surefire and just bought one from their factory yesterday. Maybe they changed the font on the letter G.

    Thanks for addressing this subject NOT from a light nerd perspective. Nice purchase 👍, surefire makes crazy good products. As with everything else, you buy what suits you, and forget everyone else's bs. I completely agree with you on 5000 lumen for 10s and 300 thereafter. I bought a Fenix that operates like a normal flashlight, no step down timeframes.
    Love the channel

    Have over 30 olights, none of which have failed me yet. Also have 2 klarus, 2 nitecore and about 4 thrunite flashlights. Been wanting to get a surefire light for a while but it bothers me that they aren't rechargeable and pricey but I can get past that. I know in return I'm getting a bomb proof light made right here in the USA!

    Stick with surefire. I have a surefire EB1 and a E2D defender ultra. Both lights have seen hard use for many years with no problems. The few Chinese lights i have had didnt last long. Many ppl recommend chinese lights because they only use them lightly. Any flashlight will last a long time with light use or no use at all.

    Surefire all the way. Modlite, malkoff,cloud Defensive lights might be better for combat use but for edc surefire is the best choice for me. A cr123a battery is a good option for swapping a battery and go. If you get a olight with all the lumens you have to recharge the light with the battery in it and there batteries are Proprietary so you have to get there’s or it won’t work. If a Chinese light works for people then great. But for me, my light gets hard use every night in the Maintenance field around grease dirt grime drops kicks everything I’ve put it through it hasn’t had an easy life and Its still going 💪. I’ve seen menu olights nitrcore thrunite etc come in and last a few months and they die someway or another. Led lenser is the worst one, that’s the one my job gives us to use and it breaks all the time.

      I have multiple G2X Tac lights for carry and I live them but I got them a few years back. I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews of their current lights indicating QC has dropped significantly. I camt confiem but it's a sad thing to see if true

    That push button is pretty neat. I like the olight s1 baton. The $50 one because it gives you 2 minutes at 500 lumens. That's enough for me as a keychain light. I use surefire batteries and their good. I'm trying to stay away from things made in China so I think I'm gonna look into this flashlight. (I know the o light is made in China but I bought it a long time ago before I started trying to buy everything made in U.S.A.)

  • @spike4628
    @spike4628 3 роки тому

    Surefire makes great flashlights. However, you can get more lumens, good construction in a much cheaper Chinese lite. That's just the way it is. There are Chinese junk lites. Whatch the reviews and get Chinese quality in Fenix, Olight, Nitecore, Thrunite, and others. I have not tried the last two but they seem to have a good rep. There are others. Good Luck.

      Yeah... Olight is definitely hit or miss, They have shitty less that get hot fast. I have olights. But I have an edcl2t in my pocket to depend on. Olights look cool, and they are bright, but they’re not dependable. I’ve had a few fail. Modlite, surefire, and streamlights all day.

  • @henrycruz45cal
    @henrycruz45cal 3 роки тому

    That's right, you don't understand.
    It's about disabling the threat, so the more lums the better.
    You say your not a Flashlight snub and you believe in simple yet you paid 170 on a light.
    Don't get me wrong, I spent that much about 8 years ago when I bought my Surefire P2ZX CombatLight and I still have it by my bedside but that was during a time when there were no other reliable lights out there.
    Now with companies like streamlight, I can have 2-3 lights (for the same price) with double the lums at many locations, like one on me, in the car and with my wife...
    Imagine spending 170 for all the lights we want.
    You spent most of the video trying to justify it to, not us, yourself.
    It's a tool not a trophy. You'll see, in time unless you continue to be sold on the trophy game.

    • @itsaknifestyle8482
      @itsaknifestyle8482  3 роки тому +5

      I didn’t buy this flashlight to disable threats, I bought it for everyday stuff like finding something in my car when it’s dark or walking through my house without having to turn on all the lights. I have carried this flashlight every single day since I bought it and I am perfectly happy with it for the price. I understand that I can get brighter lights for cheaper, I just don’t really care. You are the stereotypical commenter I get on this video, you’re why I made this video, so thanks for watching.

    • @kriztu
      @kriztu 3 роки тому +3

      I dont see any problem for the uploader justifying the purchase. THAT IS LITERALY THE TOPIC OF THE VIDEO. Maybe you should read the title before watching it, right?
