Lovely episode. 😍Next year, check out Lyme Regis Carnival. The Carnival Parade is great. 😍Also Geoff, check out the Bridgewater Carnival, in November. It's usually fabulous. 😍

Family time is eternal Geoff. Kids are with you only for a season mate ❤Awe Geoff me and my bestmate Phil used to fly the balsa wood planes in late 60s early 70s up in Silverdale at Holgates Caravan Park and surrounding area. I lost him 3 years ago at 60 heart attack. ❤

Great video, Geoff, thanks for sharing. Looks like a great trip and love the old style pumps at the end.
Shame the chippy didn't show common sense, if they were empty - probably greedy as they all charge more for eating in, some thing to do with tax?
    Interesting sky's!
    Stay safe the Geoff family.

No problem parking a motorcycle at Lyme Regis.
There were 15 con trials at the same time on the evening of sat 3rd August over east Devon, most of the time it's one or two or none.
Looked like a giant noughs and crosses.
East Devon is a nightmare when all the grockles turn up with limited ability to drive.

      @GT380man 2 місяці тому

Grockles, now there’s a word from my childhood in the 1960s. My father would drive the whole family from East Kent to Prawle Point in Devon, where we’d pitch a tent for a couple of weeks in August.
The locals weren’t unfriendly but they were clear that we were the outsiders in their land,

You need a 90’s whistling keyring to attach your 90’s car keys to……then you won’t loose them and it’ll teach your kids how to whistle just to annoy you…..😂

It looks lovely. I have a farm / airstrip near me in East Kent. A pal flew over in his home built kit plane and I collected him on my motorcycle, returning him late afternoon to fly home. Great fun.

🚗 l used to take my Mum and Dad out most Sundays as neither of them drove a car, all in the good cause of a bit of a change, and to give my Mum a break from the Sunday roast.
After my Mum passed away it was just the two of us, Dad and I , and so we ended up down Lyme Regis once, and we were both glad to get back to Swanage.👍

@@GeoffBuysCarsDoes that mean no matter how many people watch this, you make zero pennies? I suppose it could be considered a form of “loss leader” advertising. It actually very nice and unusual not to be bothered by endless advertising.
Since I realised what was going on, which I cannot describe, even objectively, because the authoritarians at UA-cam ban me on tissue thin grounds such as contravention of their “Community Standards”, I have taken steps to avoid any exposure to adverts.
UA-cam’s most recent ban arose after I made a series of posts which I regard as factual and supported by multiple lines of evidence, to which UA-cam apparently took exception.
With icy courtesy, I asked them at least to indicate which post(s) in particular, in their assessment, breached their ultra vague rules. I reasoned that since I considered all my posts factual, though entirely contrary to official narrative, that unless guided, I had no way to know what I must avoid.
Unfortunately I received no response. That brief ban has expired but I anticipate that I will be banned repeatedly until my account is terminated. So much for free speech. I will let this happen as I’ve no interest whatsoever in giving my business & attention to an enterprise I do not regard as benign.
On adverts, my ambition is each time to do my best not to learn even what the category of product or service is that’s being shoved in my face. If the device I’m watching on is immediately at hand, I mute it and avert my eyes.
I’ve developed an accurate perception of time, coming back within one second of the advert finishing.
I do it deliberately to thwart them.
I refuse to pay what I regard as a criminal enterprise “protection money” so as to avoid adverts.
Ironically, if I could pay cash, say in a Post Office, against a QR code representing my account here, I would actually do that.
I’m concerned that there’s a global push not only towards digital purchases, but towards a subscription model of living.
That, I understand, is the principal payment method, a subscription model. No, I’m not doing that. It would be easy to end up with a large number of relatively small payments, all outside of your control. Sure, you could theoretically cancel them, but you might find that your legal obligations remain anyway.
I’ve been striving to remove as many of my direct debit agreements as possible, replacing them with bank transfers that I control. I have very few now remaining. Can you pay for a SIM-only pay monthly agreement using cash? I would not be surprised if the answer is no.

It’s not their fault. All their input costs have soared in recent years and they are still unable to pass onto their customers in full. As a result, most chippies are no longer profitable and they’re closing in huge numbers.
Yes, I agree their prices are shockingly high. Nothing can be done about it, because it’s a mix of true international events and some national policy decisions.
See a very good video on this topic by The Wandering Turnip on UA-cam.

Geoff - Please, please, please take me with you next time! I need to remember how to laugh in the face of adversity and re-discover my inner bucket and spade. Camping next to a runway - genius! Over-priced fish and chips with a side order of hostility - classic UK resort exploitation. What is the most expensive bacon bap you have seen this August? One up my way was 12 quid. Seriously. What is going on?
