How wonderful to see the E Type at 9:19. The photograph they are showing was taken by me in August 1961 when I was 16. The first E Type I ever saw, it had it's original reg 4444 RW. I stood mesmerised by it's beauty for at least 20 minutes. Great film.
I have just joined your second channel tonight Geoff. It's fantastic a really good family channel. First class and yes i agreed the mic's used for the show ground was seriously rough. Your sound on both channels is top class. 🤓👍
Well done Geoff, good video! Sad about your garage door 🤦🏻♂️ My brother and I witnessed the accident at the top of the hill, really bizarre. We'd just completed our run in the VR6 powered Austin Landcrab and the Cortina was about 3 cars behind us, my brother was stood on the bank as it flew past, he reckoned it was doing about 90 before hitting the gravel trap and bouncing twice on it's nose. Talking to his son, he said it was like it was airborne when it came over the brow of the hill. Thankfully the driver is stable in hospital.
I'm going to Harewood Hillclimb next Saturday. Last went earlier this month to watch the VSCC event. Harewood is the longest Hillclimb and you can see the whole course from some spots. It helps that the paddock is at the top of the hill .
That was brilliant 😊 Great seeing Mrs Geoff behind the wheel❤.That Spitfire was hair on the back of your neck thrilling. That unique distinctive engine sound amazing 😊
The sound of that planes engine is pure sublime! Beautiful! & Sorry to see the Renault had Rolled even though the handbrake was on!!! Just as well it hit the garage door and not the Volvo lol !
That merlin engine sounds absolutely fantastic. I have only ever visited Shelsley Walsh once for the last Retro Rides event they held there. Must try and get there again at some point.
I'm glad they don't advertise hill climbs like Monster Truck Mayehms. If 17000 people turn out to see what they believe to be a couple trucks with oversized tyres, imagine how many people would turn up to see dozens of modern and classic racing cars tearing up a hill and an aerobatic pilot hooning around the skies in a Spitfire!!!!
You can't beat the sound of a RR Merlin, - apart from two or four! - - That poor Renault - didn't want to be left out overnight! I always leave my car out with the handbrake off, but in first gear. That way the pads/shoes can't stick to the disk if it is parked for a while.
Nothing beats a supercharged one in a dive, full chat, with that whine of the ‘charger, heading towards you‼️ Talk about spine tingling and goose bumps. Experienced that twice here in South Norfolk and that sound is etched in the old noggin!
I know I might be repeating myself, Geoff, but if you make time to go to Angouleme in SW France , in September, they have a weekend of cars like this but with racing round the town. They erect Armco and Safety barriers. Cars from year 0 to modern classics. Once watched the Riley Club racing there, real hot competition.
Geoff, Why did you NOT put in into 1st gear when hand brake applied🤔 Engine off of course😃 I’ve done so from day one with every car I’ve owned or driven and that’s from 1962. Another good video👍👏
The garage door damage looks expensive, but I bet there wasn't a scratch on the Renault. Don't make them like they used to, eh? Henry Cole gets everywhere. I'm not complaining though, great guy 👍
He had a nasty gash on his palm, caused by a BBQ I believe. He's filming his show at the bodyshop where my Isetta is being restored. He grew up 2 doors down from my brother. Lovely man.
what gets me with classic cars is there will always be a really cool car owned by some old bloke who is always miserable. Doesn’t want to speak about it, doesn’t look happy with and looks grumpy driving it. I’m in my 20s and i’ve got a ‘75 Triumph Dolomite and it makes me smile every single time i drive it - even just around the corner!
you must of been a bit pissed when you parked the renault up, as no-one ever parks an old car up without putting it in first gear... nice pins mrs jeff
It looks like Mrs Geoff is becoming more confident in front of the camera, she has absolutely no reason not to be. It would be great if she started taking a bigger role on this channel and you could change its name to "Adventures With Mr and Mrs Geoff". Or words to that affect.

I don't know how many times I got goose bumps watching this. What awesome machinery we used to make.
There is something so visceral about the sight and sound of a Merlin engined spitfire.
Anything with a Merlin sounds good, always brings a tear to my eye to think what these guys did in world war 2 to keep this country free (until now)
@@liamjackson6930Unfortunately, we didn’t win the war. It turns out that they’d decided to destroy U.K. from immediately after WW2.
yes = A GRIFFON V12 merlin`s bigger brother !

What a contrast, the Merlin sounding loud and raw, and the Rolls Royce sounding no can't hear it! and it's the same company
I loved every minute of that video.. So relaxing. Anything than the rubbish Football.
Great day out, thanks Geoff 😊
Good video Geoff best you done for ages and the wifes lovely nice to see a happy family great stuff..
The classic nostalgia event is awesome, a proper 'I had one of those' days
That was a Geoff shirt if ever I saw one. I see a shirt like that in your future Geoff.
The sound of that planes engine is pure sublime! Beautiful! & Sorry to see the Renault had Rolled even though the handbrake was on!!!

OOOPS... GOODNIGHT!! 🤪🍻😁
Nice to see the classics as I haven't been to Shelsley since a young teen.
That merlin engine sounds absolutely fantastic.

Looks like a super event! Thanks for taking us Geoff!

Totally agree with you it’s magical ❤❤

Nice video ❤👍
Mrs Geoffs listening skills “so he hit someone” 😂
Great video Geoff. I'm ashamed to say I've never visited Shelsley Walsh. I must put that right one day soon.
Classic nostalgia. Late July. Superb.

What a contrast this event is compared to the Monster Truck (singular not plural) shambles!!!
👀👀 "You can't park there Geoff" 👀👀
Why is the old fighter plane not leaving Lines in the sky? Must be the vintage/antique fuel its using, not like the smokey stuff modern planes use? ;)
The SU carbs they are fitted with helps.
It is, petrol

Yes.
Erm it's not a jet engine
@@loonaticsrunningtheassylum Spitfire would Fly so much Faster if it had a Jet Engine though........
I can listen to a Spit all afternoon. I see Henry is going for best dressed petrol head.
The guy with his arm in a bandage is Buzz Townsend from Car SOS.
other guy next to him is off shed and buried
Henry cole and fuzz Townsend
Interesting and classic unusual cars 😊
Oh was the little Renault ok,? It made a fair dent in the garage door 🙃
Hey Geoff why don't u clean those French flies off the windscreen , r u saving them for some ketchup!😮

Yep golden rule since i started driving engine off handbrake on and second gear for any chance of cable break etc. obviously Geoffs a young un. lol

Thank you kind Sir👍
Yes I was taught that, when parked on a hill too, in 1985 ish driving lessons
It popped out. I always park it in gear.

Which gear Geoff?

Pubs and a curry, have that when my friends come to meet me from worcester 😆
What wrong with Fuzz's hand?
I've met him twice - lovely bloke!!!
He had a nasty gash on his palm, caused by a BBQ I believe. He's filming his show at the bodyshop where my Isetta is being restored. He grew up 2 doors down from my brother. Lovely man.
Henry Cole and Fuzz bonus, looks like a nice show though.
15:50 is it really much older than your Volvo's?
I used to own a Vauxhall Senator which had the same Heating Setup split left and right had 2 Dials for Temperature like your Renault......
My grandad worked at jag all his life .know exactly where hes talkin about.

He's probably owned it for decades and got a bit bored of answering the same questions 67 times a day..... maybe
Shall I be da 1st to comment on Mrs Geoffs' nice legs...I'm well jell, I need to get mine out more in da sun lol

Geoff, I didn't realise you were married to Vicky Butler Henderson.
I hope my Renault is alright.
I thought Lucas made really bad instruments in the 60s. I didn't think they were still going!?

It would be great if she started taking a bigger role on this channel and you could change its name to "Adventures With Mr and Mrs Geoff". Or words to that affect.
Another suggestion "Adventures with the Geoffs" 😄
I was going to say, what a perfect day, Geoff... And then the Cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys sabotaged your garage door! 😒
"An documentary" ? Doesn't suit you trying to sound like Clarkson , Geoff.
I don’t have a problem with it.
