UGM is literally one of the best uni in Indonesia and has a long-standing history. Social science subjects are home to several Indonesian country leaders and well-known figures in their fields. Glad that you enjoy your time there... And I very much appreciate your mindset before coming to a new place, to expect and embrace the differences.
Yay! So happy you made this!!! Great job girl! God, i've been wanting to make videos about Indonesia for ages... But I am too lazy! This is super inspiring, and I am sure will be useful for so many!
You're so lucky because yogyakarta is one of the best cities in indonesia. it's my hometown (i work overseas btw), so when i return it feels like a grand vacation. yogyakarta have everything you need, everything you want, and it's a chill and safe place for tourists (i always labelled myself as tourist everywhere i go btw :D)

And actually maybe she miss a bit about "expensive campus" because UGM is one of most affordable campus in Indonesia as it is public University and placed in Yogyakarta. Most public univ in Indonesia (especially old campus) got very large land to expand from the beginning. I raised in Jakarta, while study there for 4 years i can save much money and even start my own business. Miss Jogja so muchh
@Shanaya Sharma Perhaps you can contact Office of International Affair of UGM. Anyway India has many good universities. May I know your motivation to study in UGM?

Nice video! I appreciate how you are trying to encourage others to come and take exchange program in Indonesia! Love the content too and how it sets expectation for others who are considering exchange programs in Indonesia. Just too bad you didn’t get to experience more from your program due to COVID.
Hope you enjoyed all the time in Indonesia, esp Yogya! You need to visit other beautfiul cities in Indonesia, after the pandemic indeed. Greetings from Indonesian!
This video pops up on my recommendation and I suddenly miss the uni days :( My faculty is FEB (Faculty of Economy and Business)'s neighbor. As for living cost, Jogja is quite cheap compared to some cities in Indonesia. Dishes in Indonesia have stronger and richer flavors (some are very spicy for foreigners) as we use spices, so foreigners who aren't used to eat dishes with strong flavors might have to get ones with milder flavor. However, the food is rather unhealthy in dormitories area. Luckily, some faculty canteens (like Kantin Sastra in Faculty of Cultural Sciences) offer healthy food like salad or brown rice and veggies. I only had a chance to visit a few canteens, so I can't give more information about this. I'm glad that you made a review video about your experience! Thank you for sharing
First year at UGM was amaaziiiing and Jogja is a really nice place to explore. It's been the place I miss the most since I live outside Jogja and have to study online stressfully from home 😌
the important thing is you ... have a wonderful experience about Indonesia and make you feel homesick for Indonesia ... that's the peak of all knowledge. Because there is a saying in Indonesia ... The more you learn the more you forget ... A little learning a little you forget, no learning no one forgets ... Because the Indonesian people believe that life is not eternal ... one day we can die whenever ... so learn to stop thinking about this world ... and enjoy your life ...
you did a great job explaining the food thingy HAHA yes the food are so much cheaper there but not very healthy lmaoo. glad you enjoyed your time here in Indonesia! im from Jakarta but i haven't even go to Karimunjawa and Lombok :')
Great sharing Chloe. I am happy to learn that you enjoyed your time in Indonesia, especially in UGM. Did you visit their Engineering faculty too? A warm greeting from the Engineering faculty of UGM. :)

Hi, Chloe! I feel delightful to know that you enjoyed your time in Indonesia and UGM. It’s really surprised me when your video come up in my recommendation (UA-cam algorithm is full of surprise indeed). I noticed that your name sounds so familiar to me, it turns out we took the same class before (at FISIPOL). Anyway, best of luck for you!
The student housing with the swimming pool is awesome because it's humid out there even when I visited my relatives there. Thanks for sharing your experience, that's disappointing when the class was cancelled last minute.
You were using Lion Air??? Indonesian here🙋🏻♀️ Please use Citilink for domestic flight. Indonesians love rice. If you want to maintain a healthier diet, simply skip the rice. Just eat the protein & vegetable. Tempe & tahu (beancurd) are a good plant-based protein that can help you feel full. Of course it means you will have to eat your protein & vegetable in larger amount because you skip rice (carbo). But some dishes are made from potato which is also carbo. So you just have to get creative, because if you follow us Indonesians & eating rice all the time, you’ll definitely gain weight 😄😅 To most Indonesian people: you haven’t had proper meal unless you have eaten rice😅😅
I really appreciate this video Chloe. Imho it would help those who wanted to study (a semester or two) in Indonesia! I graduated from this uni years ago (you've actually captured the inner area of my school, FEB). Nowadays I work as a lecturer in Surabaya but to be honest, I really miss Jogja...
