Recently picked up an S3 Prestige with every option but active dampers. Absolute pleasure to drive. Only gripe is a little turbo lag, which can be minimized by using sport mode. Just wish it had the dampers, as the ride is a little on the stiffer side. Definitely sweet spot car. Great style, tech and exhilarating performance. A real winner.

I have a question about the two lower grill pieces that are on the right and left of the bumper. As well as the rear bumper grill pieces. The outer trim pieces are gloss black in the front and rear if the Audi comes with the black optic package. Otherwise those outer trim pieces are aluminum or silver. The S3 8Y Im going to be picking up doesnt come with the black optic package. I saw that those trim pieces are sold in gloss black. Do you know whether those aluminum trim pieces can be removed so the gloss black can replace them? If so, any idea if its difficult?
I didn’t inspect if it was removable or not I would wrap them if you want them black, that would be the easiest way 👍
I have an Elantra N, great car but done with the dealer networks, it’s abysmal. Looking to get back into the VAG family and there are some serious good deals on lightly used CPO S3s, still can’t touch a Golf R, prices are just ridiculous. Seems like a good bet if you want a small sedan with 4 doors.

I would buy the Audi care, this is maintenance for 4 years or try to work a deal with it included. Do not pay over sticker and if you want the badges blacked out you have to add the black out Audi rings and badging. I would do the black optic package (blacks the grille, bigger wheels and exterior trims) and sport s package this is for the exhaust and suspension 👍

My 2016 VW Golf R (6-speed manual) was t-boned in the passenger door two weeks ago and while I tried several vehicles (VW Jetta GLI, Porsche Macan, Audi SQ5, BMW X340i, and considered several others, yesterday I bought a 2023 Audi S3 Premium Plus. I had come close to buying a 2024 VW Golf R, but the dealers in my area wanted a $15,000 mark-up on the $47,700 MSRP. I'm crazy, but not that crazy. I decided to test drive the 2023 S3 while waiting to here back from dealers on my MSRP bid for a Golf R. Having owned a 1999 Audi A6 quattro, a 2001 Audi A4 quattro, a 2003 Audi TT quattro roadster (my wife's car), and a 2003 Audi A6 2.8T quattro (6-speed manual - what a fun car), I've liked Audi's, but I need to get the giggles when I drive a car if I'm going to get something more expensive than a Jetta GLI (actually I really like the 2024 GLI 6-speed manual). The 2023 Audi S3 was selling at a discount from the Audi dealer housed 1/2 mile from where the VW dealer (among others) wanted the $15,000 mark-up. It was loaded with Bang and Olufsen stereo, Nappa leather, adaptable suspension, nice 19" wheels, and a burbbally exhaust and a great shape in such a compact form. For just above the list price of the Golf R, I'm happy in the S3. Nice job, Audi!

Comfortable and fun s3 but more sporty ride, you will feel the road more

is this better then a 330i or m228i grand coup
It’s better than the 330i but the m235i gran coupe has better hp and torque however they are both slower 0-60. The S3 will be about 2k more then a 330i and the m235i grand coupe will be about 1k more then the S3.

Any motor sports can do it but I have had a lot of problems finding anything but dealerships to do anything where I live.
Great review! I don’t like the new generation S3s (Less aggressive looking; even the gear knob, flat bottom steering delete giving Toyota vibes 🤦🏾♂️ ); hence I haven’t upgraded my 2018 S3 with 52k miles on the clock.
When I finally decide to upgrade, I’d go RS5 or RS7 and call it a day for the next couple of years.
The rs5 /rs7 are awesome vehicles, you can’t go wrong there 👍
the power the gen4 made compare to gen 3 worth the upgrade
M340i is more fun to drive with its rear drive sport differential. Better quality materials. Even the new 240i coupe has better quality materials. Golf R can also drift. Audi needs to upgrade this car.

I’d agree with the driving dynamics but remember Audi focuses on comfort until you put it in Dynamic mode. I relate Audi and BMW very closely but we can agree both are better than Merc, right?😂 Audi🤝BMW..

Get rid of the moon roof and add a manual, and I'd buy another.... I'd even pay extra to get rid of the moonroof.

Hard pass as long as that "nipple shifter" exists. I'll keep my previous generation for now. Entire interior is a downgrade honestly. Looks like a dodge with all of those boxy, hard angles.

Yes I know this but like I was taking about in the review the performance, 0-60 4.5 sec a m340i 4.1-4.4 sec and 10k savings. This is what I was explaining 👍
This is a minor thing but why do some S3s have the blacked out Audi rings on the grill and rear but some don’t? I know this is the black optics package but even with that it’s like hit and miss as to them actually having it. On their website the rings also isn’t part of the black optics package.
The Black out rings is not part of the Black Optic package, its another 400-600 I believe but your right it should be part of that package as it makes it look awesome 👍
@@HawkeyeRides oooh got it. I bought the prestige S3 like 2 weeks ago and that was the only thing missing hah. Is that something Audi dealers can add to it or do I gotta buy the rings and install them myself? If so where can I buy them, if you know by chance.
