- In this clip, I take cuttings from my Trichocereus pachanoi, commonly known as San Pedro cactus. It was long overdue, the arms were heavy. I have since acquired a better knife from my sister!

Great info. Thanks
Jan Alexander thanks for watching! 🌵😀💕
I hope you get more from the mommy plant! And good luck with the cuttings. I love cinnamon, too! 😉
Cactus Caffeine thank you! I’m hoping she survives the operation and sends more arms out! Thanks for watching! 💕😀🌵
@@PleasantPrickles is there a 'right' time of year/season/temp/time, to take the cuttings? Eg. Before winter? Spring? Ect
Brandon Gamble hello! If there is a rotting situation, then you can do it anytime of the year to save the plant. Otherwise, I think is best to do cuttings in spring time or very early summer when the plant is in growing mode. Good luck! Thanks for watching! 🌵🌵🌵
She is very pretty considering how many babies she had.
I think so too!
Have you ever rubbed aloe Vera on the ends to help heal and grow new babies?
No! I didn’t know that trick! Thanks for sharing that! Good to know. 🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵😀
Very informative. Thank you. Once they have calluses, can you put them directly in soil?
Yes. I'd recommend miracle grow cactus and compost 70/30. Support upright with sticks or dowels and don't over water. It should show signs of rooting in less than a month.
Does it help to mix cinnamon with the soil that you plant it in?
I don’t know, perhaps. The purpose of putting it directly on the cutting is to prevent fungus on the open wound. Cinnamon is an anti fungal. Good luck with your cutting! Thanks for watching! 😀 🌵 🌵🌵
Hello. Any updates? I'd like to see how they are 2 years later.
I’ll be sure to high light them in an upcoming video! I still have the cuttings and just this year they have sprouted new pups! Thanks for watching! 🌵🌵🌵🌵
Do you know if you can change the cinnamon with regular sulphur from the pharmacy?
I don’t have any experience using sulfur on cuttings, so I really can’t comment on that. Thanks for watching, good luck with your propagations! 🌵🌵🌵😀
You gave a fight cutting this peices. Good luck and i am sure she will give you new babies.
Haha! I didn’t expect it would be so tough! My sister is bringing me a better knife for my propagation projects! Thanks for watching, my dear! 💕😀🌱
