As someone in the security industry I would have recommended a dome or turret , 4k 8mp IP or POC hard wired camera running back to an NVR / DVR. Fitted it 10-12 feet off the ground and at the point of entry to the household face on . I have a camera system that I can observe from anywhere in the world with audio back up. It has artificial intelligence and can record either human being and / or cars and collect the registration number .
@@baconbuttties Fiiting it yourself around £500- £700 absolute maximum. Cameras £90. DVR is about £200. Cabling £50. So easy to fit . If using a POC DVR (power over cable) you use standard single wire co-ax aerial cable. if I was in Hong Kong on a cruise ship with wi-fi signal I can see what was going on and hear with a separate audio feed fed into the system which can be hidden anywhere . Doesn't need to be next to a camera. The technology is amazing. Cristal clear full colour at night as well.
even wired camers have slight delay when viewing from your phone. I have reolink poe camers set up and i get about 1 -2 second delay when viewing from my phone and about half that from a wired pc
