About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Absolutely no one can combat Archie the way Maude does 😆 don’t mess with Maude lol
Archie and Maude was comedy gold. The sarcasm and dry humor between the two was iconic!
Where was the real Carol??
@@Greg-re7nj No. Adrienne Barbeau played Carol in Maude. This Carol (Marcia Rodd) also appeared in the episode where she dumps her son on Mike (there were in a relationship prior to Gloria) and she had the audacity to blame Archie and Mike for calling her out as a horrible mother which she was.
Sure was
I love how on TV shows everyone shows up at once to a party😏
@@mananimal3644 and right on time. My friends sometime arrive to my place an hour to two hours late 🤬
I Love Maude!! “you ain’t Edith get outta here!” Lol 😂
I always loved the crossovers with Norman Lear shows
I missed this!!
Carol was female Meathead
This is not really a crossover. It was a "backdoor" pilot for the "Maude" series, airing as an episode of "All in the Family."
50 years on and Carroll O'Connor is still hilarious. Guaranteed that people will appreciate his genius and still find him funny in 100 years. He is among a very tiny group of 20th century performers about whom that could be said.
Stll fighting mental health ? 😂😂😂😂. Never fails to make me laugh. A great comeback shot by Maudie.
3:13 "You ain't Edith! GET OUTTA HEEERE!" 😂😂😂
The opening door slam…
Was everything.
This was the backdoor pilot of Maude.
That is what I figured too since the actress playing Carol is not Adrienne
Sometimes I wish I could have that same kind of sarcasm as Maude. So many people make me wanna insult them without directly insulthing them. :P
@Overlord - You must be young. When you get to be my age, you care less!!!!
Maude: Edith! *brings her in, slams door on Archie shut*
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Still fighting mental health
LOVE using that line to those who have nothing nice to say.😂
"You aint Edith. Get otta here."
Lol 😂
I love Bea Arthur; this is one of my favorite episodes!
Maude: You know what I like about you, Archie?
Archie: What's that, Maude?
Maude: Nothing.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was golden!
I didn't realize they had a different actress for Carol before Adrienne Barbeau.
I’d actually always thought this actress was Adrienne Barbeau. But I’d never seen the actual series Maude, only this episode.
@@StealthMode3924 maude is GREAT
Marcia Rodd. She actually guest starred in season six episode five, obviously as a completely different character
Thanks for this comment. I didn’t think that was Adrienne Barbeau so I was surprised too.
When she opened the door again, he was trying not to laugh.😅
Carroll and Bea on-screen together is a force to be reckoned with. Brilliant actors and comedians.
A classic scene. 👍🏼
Thank you, norman Jean and carrol
I loved Maude. She was great as a golden girl as well
Me too
@@tammi67able the good old days
@@leighsaldivar4439 yeah lol
I agree. She was just as golden as Dorothy.
I know a lot of people give Nornan Lear a lot of credit, and rightly so. But a lot of the credit should also go to the WRITERS AND THE ACTORS. It starts with good writing and secondly good ACTORS to bring the writing to life. Oh how I missed good shows like this one. May they R.I.P. 5/29/2023
"good night nurse she's marrying a jew" LMAO
😂😂😂
Look its Dorothy 😂😂😂
Watching Bea Arthur and Carroll O’Connor go at it is like watching two heavyweight boxers square off. Just amazing.
Some dame marching to Astoria caused the whole thing 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 That was good‼️😊😊😊
Love this! ❤😂
Even as a young kid I loved this show.
Norman Lear *is the King* of the _Comedy Jungle_ !!!
HaHa!!!! As much as "LIBTARDS" GET ON MY LAST NERVE, Maude is an exception!!!!
Archie: "You're gonna let me in there,
or are you gonna give me a break and make me go home in peace?"
😹👍!
Lol 😂
Clash of the titans!!!
These were great times... Great writers and Great actors 😊
1:12 Still fighting mental health. Huh, Archie?
Maude you know what I like about you Archie Archie what’s that Maude ? Maude nothing 😆
2:44 good lord, that's a LOT of guests to just show up at once
If only there were more interactions between Archie Bunker and Walter Finley...
Archie is Maude's Mike
LOL!!!!!!!
Real comedy!
At 13 years old Adrienne Barbeau was all i could think about❤
And for good reason. But in this pilot (effectively, anyway), that's not Barbeau. Different actress. Not as attractive or as...uh...top heavy, shall we say?
I loved this show ❤. I miss it.
One day my brother famously said "I hate Maude." I replied "good, as you aren't supposed to like her." You could have heard a pin drop. Somehow the villain housewife model worked.
Upon meeting Archie, even Walter is already done with him.
Only because he expected Archie to chip in $10.00 for the bachelor party, and when Archie refused to join in, Walter sighed, “He’s all yours, Maude!”
So this was the pilot episode to MAUDE.
I guess I don’t blame Archie!!😅
Me neither.
I liked Marsha Rodd in the role of Carol. I wonder why she wasn't retained for the series. I adore Adrienne Barbeau, however, I felt that Bea Arthur and Marsha Rodd had better on-screen chemistry. Rodd's portrayal of Carol indicated that she and Maude had similar personality traits, whereas Barbeau's portrayal really showcased a stark difference between the 2 of them, which to be fair, I suppose the writers thought would be more interesting.
Archie in the perpetual 1940's conservative attire.
Carol is Mike's ex girlfriend.. before Adrienne Barbeau..
0:03😂😂😂😂😂
Originally telecast on March 11, 1972.
CBS executive Fred Silverman insisted Bea Arthur return for another episode after seeing her first appearance in "Maude Comes To Visit" the previous December....because he smelled a possible spin-off {"Who IS that woman???", he exclaimed. "She's like Jackie Gleason!!!! *BRING HER BACK!!!!!!"}.* Norman Lear didn't want to bring her back, but Silverman insisted.......and this episode was the result. And he got his spin-off the following season.
Archie Bunker is just a Regular-American who would rather remain within his limitations.
One can easily guess at it simply by listening between the dialogue.
Let's hope he's not a regular American. He's a bigot fool.
Nothing against Marica Rodd but I prefer Adrienne Barbeau
Anyone notice the woman in the light colored coat? Who it is?
Original
Ladies….ladies this is a Mr. Bunker! 😂

[Archie»] "Good night, nurse, she's marrying a Jew."
(Not that there's anything wrong with it.)
Funny fact: Bea Arthur was in the Marine Corps and got an NJP for getting a venereal disease. Now with that face and voice, someone must have been really drunk or in the middle of a slump.
What does N.J.P. stand for?
@@natalieGilmore-je4ld non-judicial punishment. She did something wrong, at that time, by getting an STD, and was punished outside of a court marshal. Usually it includes restriction to the base, money taken away, and maybe a loss of rank depending on the severity of what the service member did.
Thanks.
Ha
Maude wasn't that great of a show on its own. That's not the Carol they used in the show.
So bloody rude and the start of disrespecting men! Imagine if men did this to women..this was the start of selfishness and bitchy women movement!!
Surely you jest. Archie was the epitome of trash. His entire persona was a sexist bitchy selfish man who finally met someone who had zero tolerance for him, when Maude came around. The fact you completely ignore him, and choose to not like her strength, exposes your weak morals.
Maude was a horrible show. My father wouldn't even allow it in the house. Bea Arthur is a bit of an uppity old battle ax anyway.
Can't stand Maude, one of the worst TV shows ever.
You've got to be a Republican.
Go watch tool time!

I have to admit, its not that funny as the other shows back then

We have Archie now in every bigot maga cult fool
