Recently switched from Frost to Fire, struggling a bit in hectic m+ situations when I’m out of PFlame and FBlast charges. Do I just Fireball and hope for crits until I can go back to insta Pyros?
hey thanks! ideally you space out your fireblasts to maintain Feel the Burn. if your getting low like down to 1. you should begin scorch weaving to double pyro. so if your in combust you'll have a heating up. scorch, fireblast, pyro pyro. repeat til you get to 2 fire blasts or phoenix flames and full send. always use shifting power when combust is on CD. try to use everything to get to your skb before using shifting power. hope this helps!
As much as I hate flamestrike build, it’s what works in keys like +10 and below. A little more pug friendly. Personally I’ll suffer through with ignite build and do fuck all dmg lol

great video. spent an hour writing and studying. i understood more now. thanks so much. only problem is , i dont know what the import string is used for or what weak aura interface you use. i want to use so i can learn your style. i think you are right on the money
my weak aura interface is slightly scuffed haha. but the import string is for talents. for weak auras i use alot. the main thing you see on screen is doc mage from wago.io. im very bad at customizing my uis. i just tweek it if something doesnt work for me. wago.io/lYnGDh4IM
What about when you end up with an instant pyro but you have to cast pyro for your SKB combust, do you just fire off the pyro without chaining another spell with it. Like you know what I mean you’re always casting a fireball or scorch into pyro basically so in this situation do you just send the pyro so you can get your casted pyro off. Also charring embers does it matter when you get the two free Phoenix flames procs and 200% damage increase like should you save those for any situation or doesn’t really matter because they’re 100% crit chance anyway with the talent choice. Obviously you don’t want to over cap on the charges of charred embers
Also does it matter much if you use you’re big combustion after a SKB but not overlapping them because some situations you have a SKB proc ready to go and have like 4 seconds left on combustion, should you wait for combustion to come up and then send combustion and SKB together so you get a full 18 seconds of combustion at once or does it not matter too much to just send the SKB use that first and then send the 12 second combustion, pugging definitely makes juggling the timers a little trickier. I know I’m asking a lot but do you use a lust macro with combustion at all or how do you normally get the double lust off with also trying to cast a quick fireball into double pyro sometimes that gets a bit hectic lol
yes you have to just send the instant pyro. you should avoid this as much as possible because this is known as "munching" you should track when your on 6th skb stack and then be aware not to generate a hot streak on your 8th stack so you can immediately go into SKB pyro. for phoenix flames basically just dont over cap. prioritize fire blasts in skb and combust but otherwise you can just send them to get back into SKB faster
@@jayryan1956 ideally you hardcast your skb and press combust right before your cast finishes this will stack the SKB on top of your combust. whenever your in combust you ALWAYS send your SKB otherwise your wasting stacks
honestly it just feels like a pre requisite as a fire mage XD. there is a reason though. when your double lusted because of travel times sometimes you can get stuck hardcasting a pyro when you shouldnt be. so by moving you cant start a hardcast
😂😂😂 +1 to +15? After dungeon squish right? Why even bother with fire than man? At least 95% of the mythic + crowd won't ever go beyond +15 and in earlier keys frost is leagues above fire... They really need to align the spec performances as fire isn't and wont be played by most m+ folks, which is kinda sad because it really limits the choices of specs
sadly yes. it starts to do better 10+ but it doesnt really excel until higher. and even then. it struggles in niche scenarios. Like totem bosses. the target swapping tanks DPS
Thank you for pointing out the obvious weaknesses of the spec! Another prime example on why one should not blindly follow the meta without the actual context of the highest lvl of keys. That being said: I still think Fire is more fun than Frost :)
fire mage absolutely has a place below 15. you just have no chance at topping meters in a key. but your prio/boss damage is unmatched. alot of people get put off this spec because they see there numbers and arent at the top
It's good to put Meteor in the build or not worth the cooldown time to use it? And another question is, why are you not using Shimmering instead of Ice Floes??
you can use it. but alot of people dont because its kind of wierd to use and alot of times you dont get max value out of it because mobs get moved out of the flame patch, doesnt hit all the mobs etc. id recommend not using it but its def viable

fire doesnt thrive until trash a dungeon live long enough. so A. you need a beefy target to live long enough for you to build a big ignite bank on and B. you need the rest of the trash around it to live long enough for your big ignite to spread to fully tick which is a 9 second cycle. They need time to ramp essentially. I really struggled in some niche scenarios in 16s. the brackenhide final boss. I dont have enough time to ramp my damage on totems. same thing in uldum 2nd boss.
@@NikaQarsidze ignite does damage based off basically all your spells. a percentage based off your mastery of the damage dealt is converted into ignite damage which ticks for 9 seconds. fire blast spreads this ignite to other targets. if you swap targets you have to rebuild your ignite bank. hope this helps
last boss you cant do damage to boss. just help kick, dragon breath, blast wave, do as much damage as you can. try and have SKB for the adds and wait til they're grouped
with that being said i have a video coming out later today explaining the weaknesses of fire mage. once you get into like 15s you really struggle with totems. you have to save SKB for it and even then sometimes its not enough

for low keys if you want to do more damage overall you can run flamestrike but honestly if your playing fire its to do high prio damage so id stick with ignite build or play frost until you get gear/higher keys
@@AlexTheFou i would consider anything above a +13 to be relatively high. ilvl is not the deciding factor. its more so who you're playing with. if stuff dies to quick ignite doesnt have enough time to ramp.
lust gives you 30% haste bonus. time warp is the ability we have. its raid wide ability that increases everyone haste. as fire mage specifically we double lust when we can. increasing our haste by 60%

Quick question. Should I play flame strike build on 10s and only swap to ignite on 15+?
15+ is a little drastic. iginite starts to get better and better the higher up you go. personally id play at 10 on fort maybe 12 on tyrannical
so when do you scorch?
you scorch during skb and combust when you dont have fireblast or phoenix flames. you also scorch enemies that are below 30% for gtd crit

your ignite bank builds up on a target and spreads as you pyro. you target the beefiest target and do your single target rotation yes

How you play last boss of nokhud ? you never swap on the totems and you're praying about your ignites is suffisant ?
