Thank you for the upload, based on the vid i have just managed to do the same cleaning. The condenser looked horrible also in case of my machine. As a workaround instead of using the stainless steel mesh I am experimenting now with air filter sponge. I did manage to buy some in a nearby shop where you can by motorbike parts / accessories. The sponge looks to be more effective than the original filter was, one can wash it many times. It keeps not just lint but reasonable amount of dust away from the condenser.
How difficult would you rate the whole dissembling-cleaning and putting back together process from 1 to 10? (For a person who has never repaired anything?😁) Mine is a total mess after 4 years of usage and 3 long-haired cats and I am wondering if I should try and clean it myself 🤔
@@tiliakiraly3247 Hm, for me it was like 5-6, but i have some experience + also pressure washer and tools. WIthout any tools and experience i would not recommend to do it on your own.
how is the new filter doing a year latter please? Im picking up one of these machines for $175, apartently was never used. so want to start off with a good filter right away.
Thank you for both of your videos on cleaning and assembly of this dryer! I managed to do it myself and saved 150 euros 🎉 still have to upgrade the filter with the mesh and was wondering if I could get away with plastic or silk mesh or would it be too hot for plastic? Also- do you put the original filter on top of the mesh or just use it without the sponge filter from now on?
Great vid and great hack for this poorly designed air filter. I have the same dryer and vacuum the visible section of the condenser regularly but the lint just sneaks through those foam filters, which btw are close to $100ea in Australia.
can one cut a hole in bottom of machine to be able to clean unit without complete disassmebly next time? if one just had to tilt it over to clean would be much better!
For cleaning you can open the back access plate held by screws and the front filter. Lay it on the ground face down and pressure wash through the back access port. Not as thorough but might just be enough for many machines.

@@fbalazs82 thank you for your reply. I guess it's safer not to do it myself then.
It is annoying though...this design is terrible.😤

Any update on this?

One possible could. But two would possibly be required to tilt the machine.

Somehow I enjoyed watching this video :D
What kind of stainless steel mesh is the best? There are many kind of them on aliexpress like 40, 100, 500 mesh. ???
i have a very fine mesh 500 and it's ok , only downside is the air is warmer because reduced flux
You can clear with steam or water jet and leave 1 day to dry but the dirty is inside
Are there any heat-pump dryers that are designed for easier cleaning?
Bosch are self cleaning but get too hot. Fisher & paykel are good too and have more filters to make cleaning easier.
@@richardc1983Thanks, Is the Auto Cleaning Condenser feature of the LG DLHC1455W Dual-Inverter actually effective in avoiding this lint problem?
I do not know how to do it with mine, I guess I will just leave it and later buy a new one :(
this is a great video
