This video was very helpful in understanding how to take this off. I have a 2014 which was the last year and it seems they fixed the broken tab issue. I had an intermittent backup camera. The problem wasn't the camera but tiny bits of oxidation that happen on the pins in the connector over time. I unplugged the camera used a small piece of sandpaper to burnish the contacts, the making sure the truck is off pour some alcohol in the connector and plug and unplug the connector like 5 times. let it dry, problem solved. I spent about 20 years repairing electronics on airplanes and many times it's not the electronic unit that is bad, it's just oxidation in the connector.
Which connector did you sand and clean? The one shown in the video or the connection under the bed by the spare tire? Or both? Im having similar issues with my 2013. Thanks
Just did this on my 2014, camera comes right on now and stays on. Has to use a dab of hot glue to get the badge to stay as the clips were quite weak going back on.

It was a good video, however some things are easier than stated. I removed the emblem on my 14 carefully and didn't break the tabs. Ford fitted an after market Gentex rear mirror screen kit to my 2014 F150 as a sweetener to the purchase - went out just after warranty - put up with the blank rectangle, in reverse, for a while as I wasn't paying the hundreds of dollars estimated to fix it. So figured the wiring (Ford made a pigs ear of it) and put in an Amazon acquired $16.00 Pyle camera - works like a charm - dont care if it goes out with in a year - $16 nothing to replace and its just plug and play ready now if it does go out
