I'd like to add that holding the drop bomb keybind isn't cheesing this system. That's how it works in modern aircraft. Basically by holding down the pickle button you're giving the system permission to drop the bombs when you reach the designated drop point.
Who the hell says holding release is cheesing? That’s literally how you do it. If you try to pickle manually when reaching the release point you’re guaranteed to mistime and not drop anything.. Oh… got to the point he says it in the video.. wow. I had such high regard for Tim especially since same name, but. After that I’m kinda like “uhhh wtf are you on about?”
Just a heads up, for some reason, radar missiles will try to lock the target point. Also, afiak, the bombs dropping automatically is the intended method or ccrp, at least its that way in dcs so I would assume it still applies here. Yet another great video!
To confirm this, yeah I have gotten them multiple times in the F-4E when I get a radar lock when im carrying out 7, 1000 lbs bombs, so the F-4E also has it, but its pretty inconsistent for it showing up however
You can also use CCRP for bomb tossing. You need to start pitching up when approaching the target, and as you keep pitching up, you hold bomb release button. It significantly increases the range of your bombs and sets you up for escape from enemies but also reduce accuracy of your bombs
@@NickThePilotUSA Toss bombing was originally for nuclear weapons, but both dumb and guided bombs can make good use of them, such as tossing them over mountains to try avoid SAM's or whatever else.

I love using the CCRP but I've encountered a bug. It doesn't happen all to often but when it happens it's super annoying. Sometimes when I reach the Bombingpoint and hold the "release Bomb series" button it won't drop anything and just flies by
